Oh yes I can relate to the shouting thing...DT2 shouted 'for god's sake daddy' at DH the other day she must have heard it too often I have to confess to being a door slammer too, it relieves all my tension but I'm sure the neighbours aren't so keen...glad we're in a detached house

rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 20:35

Glad to know I'm not the only fishwife out there then - and I look so respectable when I pick the boys up from school too!

My DTs have recently started saying "Oh for God's sake" so I am feeling very ashamed on this subject at the moment

largeginandtonic · 26/01/2007 20:59

LOL at you all shouting too, oh i just love this thread.

DS said shit for quite a while too, when we moved over the summer (next to the beach) we managed to turn it in to ship Genius on our part we thought!

Wine would b great thanks. Almost packed the car and up and fled to Plymouth, very stressful evening. I think all my coping mechanisms seem to have failed of late....

Hi all - just thought I'd pop in. Nowt wrong with Plymouth gotta do my shopping somewhere!!!!

Where abouts in Cornwall are you Rosmerrin?

I feel huge, now 29 weeks + 1. They are measuring 31 weeks are are currently 3 1/2 lb each. So not bad if anything should happen too early.

Have just done a Tesco online shop and can see that this will be the way of things to come for a while.

Hope all good with you all and I will try and pop in more frequently.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/01/2007 21:19

No wonder you need a large G & T
We are in Saltash, but I work & shop in Plymouth. DH and I are both from service familes which is how we ended up down here.

rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 21:32

lol LG&T - shit/ship is genius

Oooggs - I'm near Truro, why? are you nearby?!

Beginners question - do you guys have laptops with you in front of the telly or do you just keep poping in during the adverts or what?

rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 21:33

Sorry oooggs, you beat me to it.

No laptop here, I have a monitor, keyboard & mouse in the dinning room so can see they telly. The 'real' computer & printer etc is in the study.

rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 21:35

dingdong that really is decadent - not to mention very high tech. I am poping in and out - call it exercise if you will

Overrun · 26/01/2007 21:48

I agree very decadent Dingdong, I am in the Dining room, and you can't see the lounge and telly from here
Lol, at all the shouting stories and it is really what i need to hear, as I really feel I would like to shout less, and I start each day thinking "I won't do it today". but by I always do...
Ds1, is always telling the dts off, and I know children are naturally bossy at this age (nearly 4), but I can hear myself in the phrases that he uses "You are a very very very naughty boy!" He has also rather sweetly combined this phrase with the fact that Grandad calls them all "fellows" so he says "You are very naughty fellows" but really crossly
He has also said to me "don't shout at Daddy, Mummy" and "Where has your patience gone?" which is in response to my saying that I am losing my patience all the time.
Oh the joys, we are in a semi btw

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/01/2007 21:53
Blush
rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 22:06

My DTs keep shouting at each other "I'm not talking to YOU" everytime one of them interrupts the other one. I know they haven't got that one from me so I guess it must be school! I am also being called "poopants" a lot - I'm trying not to take it personally but "Cereal please poopants" first thing in the morning is a bit much and not really what a woman likes to hear.

I cant see my telly from here either but I have skyplus so I am coping.

estar · 26/01/2007 22:10

(dingdong, I have a laptop too and I'm not rich or decadent or nuthin')

We live on a college campus at the moment and I think EVERYONE on site probably thinks what a horrible mother I am from the shouting that must waft out of the windows everyday.

The thing is, they don't hear you the first five times when you've said 'Now then sweetheart, please don't do that to your brother' .
Then...'I think I told you five minutes ago not to do that' .
Five minutes later... 'Now, if that happens again, mummy will start to get to get cross'
Two minutes later... 'This is the last time, boys, it's all going to end in tears'

Then finally, as plant comes down on top of wrestling twins, spreading soil, pieces of ceramic and tears all over the place... 'WHAT DID I TELL YOU, NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE! etc etc'

Also, lol at waiting for knock on door from SS - glad I'm not the only one who fears that!

frumpygrumpy · 26/01/2007 22:14

fishwife shouting, shits and fgs here too from all of my children too

even one fkin hell from DT2 about 4 months ago when a bus nearly took the front of the car off

rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 22:24

Was DT2 driving?

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/01/2007 22:30

its dh's laptop from work, but he never does any work at home (can't get near it) the 'real' pc is upstairs so I use it in the day when I want to get away from the DTs, not that decadent really...

dingdongjustforyoufg · 26/01/2007 22:31

estar I know what you mean about noone ever hearing/seeing the good bits, not fair is it?!

rosmerrin · 26/01/2007 22:58

dingdong - only teasing about the decadence, i love the picture of you all cosied up on the sofa with the wine etc. Brilliant.

I also lock myself in the study to escape the DTs with the excuse of checking email. We have a stairgate in the door way to keep them out. Actually, and this will really make your day, we have a dog gate - they can climb over the stair gates so we had to get dog gates instead which are about 50% higher than the stairgates. Its amazing the heights small boys can scale with the aid of dumper trucks and lego. We live in a fully gated community here!

Okay ladies, I'm off to bed - sweet dreams all.

MarsLady · 26/01/2007 23:55

I'm back long enough to say.... nope no baby yet. I'm going to bed then back really early tomorrow. Something needs to happen tonight.

Blimey.... I stay away a couple of days and the newbies come flooding in and all the DTs are saying "shit" lol! Can't wait to catch up

largeginandtonic · 27/01/2007 12:27

Morning all, im not going to discuss my morning so far, too horrendous for words. Suffice to say i am still debating on a mad dash to plymouth, i just cant bear the thought of loading the car up with 5 kids all their gear and then driving for 4 hours.

Here is Hugo opening his pressies this morning

Hello all!

Overrun - the potty circling twins. PMSL! Not sure I need to know about the poo eating though... I'm still reeling from Mars' toilet duck.

Welcome new MNers! We seem to be growing in numbers from the south west at the moment. I'm in Devon (you'd be surprised to learn ), not far from Plymouth. Surprised you haven't heard the echoes over the moors of me yelling at DD1.

Talking of whom, she's away at her cousin's for three nights! I've had such a lazy morning! Walk out with the boys into town; finished my book and started the next one; about to have lunch - steak, jacket spud and spinach, yum yum - porridge with clotted cream on for breakfast cos there was no one there to tell me not too... and anyway I'm breastfeeding so I'm allowed.

Large gin - are you marine based or navy? My brother's RM and has been in Plymouth occasionally.

Off for lunch and a bit more Jeremy Paxman!
