Hi girls. Went to my salsa concert (sublime) and then straight to a birth! So now to write my essay.

Overrun... no I didn't feel got at. I knew if I stuck my head over the parapet I would have pot shots taken at me. I wasn't going to post but thought... hell why not. lol It wasn't an easy decision for me to make but it was a very realistic one and I think I'm a deal stricter with my kids then some of those on that thread anyway. I don't regret it (well maybe posting it... well maybe not! lol)

frumpygrumpy · 24/02/2007 18:28

OK, so I'm going for £2.50 on 2 girls, weights, 5lb 3oz and 5lb 5oz...........

Going out tonight to see the Vagina Monologues

Marscentio · 24/02/2007 22:14

FG????????????? Going out???????????????????????

Hope it was great babe!

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2007 10:26

Hi ladies. The Vagina Monologues was just ok, I think it was all in the delivery and they just didn't have that quite right. Also, I'm no prude, but bits were just crude for the sake of it and I didn't really want to to shout C at the top of my voice although many did ........not my favourite word. I much prefer fanjo

BibiThree · 26/02/2007 11:06

Hi Ladies,

Sorry to just hijack like this, but am 15 weeks pg with twins and was just wondering if it is normal to feel like I've got a bowling ball sat in my pelvis? This early? How on earth am I going to move around in a few months time?

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2007 14:26

Hi Bibi, congratulations, jump on in and do join us whenever you like, we are on here most days sharing the good, and the ugly . There's nothing bad to share because all our children behave impeccably and are tidy

Can't say I felt like that until much, much later on in my pregnancy thb. There are lots of us on this thread so I'm sure one of the girls will be along shortly to share......no two pregnancies being the same and all that......

Have you any other children or are these the first?

BibiThree · 26/02/2007 16:31

This is my 3rd pg but after DD I lost a babba. I remember this heavy, bowling ball weight with dd but much later on, around the 30+ week mark. If I didn't know better I'd say I was much further along than 15+ weeks but I know for certain i'm not. The nippers must have heavy bones!

Marscentio · 26/02/2007 16:32

Hi Bibi............ welcome!

largeginandtonic · 26/02/2007 17:20

Hello all, im back at home after a long break. Was very nice to get away, dh is home for the next week but then joins a ship in Plymouth He will get back when im 39 weeks, so the baby cannot come out till then.

Hope you are all ok, have missed you lots. So baby Leos where is the birth announcement? Have the pixie babies been named yet?

Hugs to all, will make some cake to share later xxxx

Hi Bibi! Just thought I'd pop in and say that I'm only 8 weeks with twins but I already have an 'awkward' feeling so I can imagine what you mean about the bowling ball!!

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2007 17:40

I have the look of a bowling ball in the tummy region if that makes anyone feel better. I'm not pregnant.

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2007 17:41

wow

Harrogatemum · 26/02/2007 19:22

hi all and welcome to all the newbies!!

Been away for the weekend to Center Parcs at Sherwood Forest with a friend from uni, her fella and 7 month old baby boy....

The DTs loved the forest, the animals (chasing ducks, geese and swans and splashing in puddles in their wellies). They also loved being pulled around in a trailer behind a bike and loved the adventure playgrounds.

Sadly they did not love the swimming !! DT2 clung to me and shivered the whole time we were in the pool, this is the boys that 6 months ago in Borneo were launching themselves off the sides of the pool! Oh well....hopefully the more we go, teh better it will be.

So how is everyone!! I have been trying to catch up on all the news, you cant go away for a few days without missing out on loads. Mars you are going to HAVE TO TELL US ABOUT BABY LEOS - we cant wait any longer!! And yes - have the mini-pixis been named yet??

FG - hope you are polishing your sporran as we speak, I have bought my ticket for the meet up at your place (Tell me to back off, I start to annoy myself sometimes!!)

Hope some of youa re around tonight!!

HM

Overrun · 26/02/2007 19:32

HI all, yes, I do am on the edge of my seat, waiting for news on mini leos. HM, have you really got tickets?
Mars, glad you were okay about it, well done for being open about it, too often people say what they think others want to hear

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2007 20:32

Someone link me to the Mars sticking her neck out story..........

for me, it ain't happening. I enjoy my MN time privately, anonymously and I am not yet ready to share or give that up. It was a salvation for me when I first stumbled upon it and I'm not ready to relinquish that. For you all, I am thrilled and can't wait to hear about it in time line detail. Y'never know. If the time comes and I have felt able to share with DP then I might come. But, for now, I must stay as I lay..........

Sorry and I don't want to spoil anyones fun but thats the bottom line from me xxx.

frumpygrumpy · 26/02/2007 20:34

I still love you all immensely though

Harrogatemum · 26/02/2007 20:59

FG - totally understand. Sorry for laying it on a bit thick. Love you lots too!!!

Harrogatemum · 26/02/2007 21:00

PS - on third glass of Sancerre and eating coffee flavoured Lindt........woman after your own heart???

zephyrcat · 26/02/2007 21:02

Evening! Does anyone have any twins books they can recommend? Really just the pg and birth bit... I bought the onl;y one I could find but It's american so slightly different in the way they do things!!

Marscentio · 26/02/2007 21:11

Fg... I don't want to link it... it'll only start up again... but....... I'll cut and paste for you. Hang on!

Marscentio · 26/02/2007 21:12

Actually FG... if you email me lovelymarslady at aol dot com.... then I'll link it for you if you promise not to post!

Marscentio · 26/02/2007 21:14

FG........... okay then... how about this re;meetup!

Why don't you come down? Then we can meet up somewhere nice and safe and MrFG needn't know about your secret sin.

HM... I'd love to join you in a glass but I'm supposed to be writing my essay right now and I'm doing everything to avoid it. My extension ends tomorrow............... I must write it! It's not as if I don't have the info to hand. Sigh...........

BibiThree · 27/02/2007 11:52

Re the twins books, I've seen three around and they're all rubbish. Lots focus on after the birth and dealing with twins, and none of them did a nice week by week guide to being pg with twins, which is what I wanted. One was "Twins!" by Connie Agnew, one was "Twins and Multiple Births " by Carol Cooper and I can't remember the other, but after a good flicking through and reading of the interesting bits in Borders, none of them impressed me enough to buy.

Does anyone know of a better one? My Kaz Cooke pregnancy book is still a great read, but I don't feel like it applies as I feel v different to my pg with dd.

zephyrcat · 27/02/2007 11:54

That's what I want - a twins pregnancy book, week by week kind of thing. Lots of advice, pics, what to expect etc... The one I bought was Twins! Pregnancy Birth and 1st year - it's USA though and not brill.

BibiThree · 27/02/2007 14:22

All I can find is paragraphs on how twins are made, then the books skip to potential problems (TTTS etc), then to how to breastfeed twins. Annoying!

I suppose they're doing the same things as singletons, thumb sucking, arm waving etc at all the same times, it would just be nice to know about special twin things too.
