haven't catapulted anyone out of the buggy frontways but i have done the backward thunk because the bags are heavy many, many times. Also, I lost dd into the cosytoes when she was tiny as I bumped down a kerb as I hadn't strapped her into the buggy and I also sliced the top of dds finger with nail clippers when she was but a few weeks old.......any of that count?

I remember not that long ago Overrun starting a thread about things like this prompted by her own ds trapezing accross the room to quaff down a bottle of Calpol.......had me in stitches at everyone's confessions .

Kelly1978 · 07/02/2007 09:28

Oh I'd def get the withering look if I offered her play money, but giving her some money of her own is a great idea. I think I will have to start her on pocket money which can be added to or decreased depending on behavior. I have told her that grown ups that steal can be sent to prison and it's a really bad thing to do, etc, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

I did the chopping the finger thing too Threw the clippers away after that! Felt so guilty!
I still beat you all hands down though, letting dt2 jump out of the window.

triplets · 07/02/2007 10:50

Hi al,
Been told by Marslady to join in here, though havent got a clue as to what you are all on about! Apparently I have been missed, and am needed to scare the new ones! Easy to do isnt it, who can beat giving birth to triplets at age 46, and nine years later still be here in sound mind.......well, almost! So all you Mums of twins, its a doddle!

Kelly1978 · 07/02/2007 10:52

Hi triplets, where have you been? How are you?

triplets · 07/02/2007 11:44

Hi,
Been well and truly here! Its been all birthdays since Christmas, husbands, trios, mums, etc, I am soooooo broke! Now they are off to another party on Sat and all have to go as celebrities!! No inspiration yet, will have to cost me nothing!! I am fine, still get the odd dizzy spell, but all tests inc MRI are ok which is good news. Get abit down at times, not easy being nearly 55 with 9 yr old trips and grumpy husband who is now 66!! Golly that all makes me feel sooooooo old, but been told I only look in my 40`s the other day cheered me up no end! Miss my Matthew terribly still, never a day goes by, seems all so long ago that I was truly happy, thats life. So I struggle on, its not all bad, just hard work, this is my morning treat, to sit on here for a while and have my morning cuppa, now off to tackle the bedrooms! Sure you all know what its like!

MarsLady · 07/02/2007 13:32

Glad to see you back here triplets!

I still think that you are an inspiration... the fact that you're still going strong with 9 yo triplets makes me think that 3 yo twins are a doddle [gulp] Don't be a stranger.... we want to know how it goes with you.

FG: Confess all please!

Kelly: I give mine 10p for each year that they are. So DD2 gets 80p a week pocketmoney. Of course when DS1 turned 11 he told me that £1.10 doesn't buy much and so he got a £10 a month allowance. He's now 14 and gets £30. DD1 is now 12 and is on £20. They have to kit themselves out with that and buy pressies for friends and socialise. I now don't put any credit on DS1's phone and only £5 on DD1's. So.... I think that pocket money is great... it's also a fantastic deterent. If your DD steals money just tell her that she couldn't have pocket money cos your money was stolen and that you can't buy any treats for the same reason.

Rose: I will not even begin to tell you the dreadful things I've done with my 5. Wouldn't be good for your heart lol!

Hi all

Kelly1978 · 07/02/2007 15:44

I'm impressed that it took your ds til 11 to realise that £1.10 doesn't buy a lot. dd has little concept of the value of money, so I was thinking of starting her off with £1. I'm just worried that if she realises she has to save for weeks and weeks to buy toys if she will give up. Someone else told me that their 6yo gets 20p which doesnt buy anything at all really.

Triplets, it's great to see you back, it sounds liek you are coping well. Did you ever speak to gglimpoco? She lost her daughter very recently and was looking for others who could understand to chat to, I know you've posted wonderful words of advice on other threads.

frumpygrumpy · 07/02/2007 16:11

Kelly, Triplets did catch up with ggg

Hello my luvlies. I have had a massive clear out of our loft today so now my house is FULL of all the stuff waiting for a time when I can pack up the car and send it onwards Doesn't seem such a good idea now I have to look at it all and dance round it.

TRIPLETS!!!! Hello my dear, do come in and sit down and we'll shove the kettle on to welcome you home. We all bow down to you on here and you are very much needed to keep us all in check So pocket money.....yours get?

I will come back later when I have a glass of something nice in my hand, such is the trauma of my toilet duck-esque tale ............

Kelly, you still win with the superhero DT

MarsLady · 07/02/2007 16:27

Kelly... what is good is that my DC all now save for what they want. Best thing to do is start them early.

Pour me a cup would you FG. I'm off to my tutorial shortly... but need to put tea on first.

Harrogatemum · 07/02/2007 16:42

FG - stop keeping us in suspense and tell the Toilet Duck-esque story!!!!!

frumpygrumpy · 07/02/2007 18:11

I can't........because the sequel just happened

triplets · 07/02/2007 18:51

Hi all,
Pocket money? Listen, its me who needs the pocket money! So the answer is they get none, should I do you think? They hate shopping so never go, never ask for things really, I buy chocolate which they have when they get home from school, not every day, sometimes they want a cake, so never really considered it necessary. I`ll wait until they ask! They have all just gone to Cubs,so a glass of wine and bangers and mash on my own in front of the telly in a min, bliss!

rosmerrin · 07/02/2007 19:40

Evening all,

FG - DH is home late tonight, I'm cracking open the fishfingers as I type!

MarsLady · 08/02/2007 10:42

FG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spill........... [pardon the pun lol]

Triplets... enjoy it whilst it lasts.

frumpygrumpy · 08/02/2007 11:00

anyone have thoughts?

frumpygrumpy · 08/02/2007 11:17

So......I came upstairs to put away laundry.........

The DTs were playing happily, popped up to see me, created mess in every room and I told them to go back downstairs and watch some telly while I finished up.

When I got downstairs my face went from this to this to to . I shouted so hard I hurt my throat .

It seemed to be DT1 who was the culprit as she was filthy and DT2 was immaculate. He also said "DT1 did it" and she denied nothing.

She had climbed onto the worktop and pulled down a bouncy ball kit of DDs that I had laid out for she and me to use up. You pour sandy crystals into a mould, add water and hey presto you have a bouncy ball.

DT1 had dragged it onto the floor, ripped open the box where some sachets were open and spilled them all over my kitchen floor. I think she then attempted a clean up as 3 cloths and 2 pairs of marigolds were mixed in. She added half a bottle of washing up liquid to the mess, mixed it all up and when I came in the floor was a sea of sandy crystals and washing up liquid. It was also on my cupboard doors, the worktop, her hair, her skirt, her brand new tights that had only been on 2 hours, her brand new top, her chin, and at the other end of the kitchen, my rug and a neat little pile in front of the TV.

Now the really bad bit was that because of the sandy bouncy ball crystals I could not rinse anything down the sink because they would congeal and stick to the pipes. So I had to fill basin, upon basin, upon basin, wipe and run out to the garden to empty it, refil and begin again. The amount of washing up liquid just turned into slime. The crystals congealed on my floor as soon as I attacked them with a cloth and then sank to the bottom of the basin where they stuck on.

I had to scrape, wipe and rinse, run to the garden. Its not a small room as it is a kitchen/family room in one - I began the clean up at 10.30am and finished 2 hours later.

We got all cleaned up and they pooed. (I was also trying to go out to visit my gran)

THEN, last night I was cooking dinner when DT1 (AGAIN!!) decided to go into the cupboard under the stairs. I have a table that sits in front of the cupboard with picture frames, a big candle and my lovely, huge, fragrant bunch of lillies my brother brought for my birthday. She opened the door, whacked it off the table and sent my lillies flying to the floor in a great puddle, every stem snapped and the worst bit, yup, I have a lovely pile of bright orange pollen stains on the carpet. The pasta boiled over and DT2 pooed at the same time. I never put flowers on that table for that very reason so why did I do it?

I'm trying to laugh but I don't think enough time has passed.

frumpygrumpy · 08/02/2007 11:19

By the way, if you use half to three quarters of a bottle of washing up liquid on your floor, it takes hours to clean but your floor does end up very very very clean.

dingdongjustforyoufg · 08/02/2007 11:33

oh frumpy!!!!!!!

MarsLady · 08/02/2007 11:35
