should also have said, love it Doris!

DTs have their playgroup xmas party this am and are VERY excited

I wish I was 9st and a size 12

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 09:44

still want to see a pic fg! I'll post mine if you do

mars has a stunningly gorgeous smile, she missed that out! First thing I noticed about her.

I love your link, doris!

Did everyone see this posted on another thread . It's really fun for the kids to see themselves as elves, and I gave dp a shock when I elfed him too!

HarktheHarrogateMumisSinging · 21/12/2006 10:24

Oh FG you sound lovely. Here is my personal description so you can imagine me sat at my laptop typing away of an evening...I have used your template and just changed the details!

white, very pale (and interesting ha ha)
Chin lenght rubbish hair that I have to have dyed every 5 weeks to its original dark brown as it went grey aged 25, AAAGGGHHH
green/grey/funny colour eyes
5ft 11 - short body, long legs, before you say how fab, makes buying trousers DIFFICULT
size 12/14 depends on what kind of a week I have had with the chocs/booze.
Was 11 stone before I got pregnant. Am now 9 stone 12 after having the baby. Not been this weight since I was 18.
dress from Zara (long enough trousers), Wallis (long enough trousers), Long Tall Sally (long enough trousers) and Top Shop Jeans (long enough trousers - anyone getting a theme here).
love reading (even with kids, still manage to do it), looking at travel brochures as though they are glossy magazines, hence know all the names of flash hotels around the world, although have no stayed in any; drinking white wine (I a a chav, Chardonnay is my fave) and eating cheese (all the smelly ones, was founder member of Cheese Soc at uni)
other people would call me very confident but inside feel like a shy little mouse!
favourite holiday would be lounging on a lounger with someone passing me a cocktail every now and again, hot but not too hot and with really great food.

Think thats enough to paint a picture - come on everyone else, lets see yours!

And yes we should meet up....but reckon it would be logistically impossible - Mars, you like a challenge dont you!!And you seem to be the most organised woman on the planet, how could we do it!?

OOh and about meeting other mumsnetters - I have been to two meet ups. The first one half the people didnt turn up to (and as it was in HArrogate there was only ever going to be a few of us) and second one was just a couple of weeks ago in Northallerton and I met Twinklemegan who was lurvely. So I am sure none of us would be disappointed. Plus HD has met Mars and said she was MAD (only joking MArsy!!)

Enough - gotta go to asda and do the BIG SHOP for Crimbo.

HarktheHarrogateMumisSinging · 21/12/2006 10:26

forgot my other passion - family history - my Dads family are all from Edinburgh so when I come up to do my research I will hunt you down FG!

ThrockenAroundTheChristmasTree · 21/12/2006 10:27

thanks for the sympathy girls - it helps !

The DT's had a twin moment the other day - they decided to do some cooking - DH found them having switched on all the rings on the cooker . They were confined to their room - they telling me it was ok - daddy knew about the special K and water (me wondering what the hell that meant). 2 hours later I found out - went to grill something for tea and found the pan brim full with special K and water - that is what they were trying to cook . They thought it was ok because none of the lights on the cooker were on (they only come on with the oven though).

They now know all about how the cooker really works and that it is not for playing with because "they might burn the house down".

Today is altogether better - mainly because I am at work and no-one is here and it is quiet - I am soaking it up and hoping it tides me over the next week or so !

Our house is manic because DH is wiring the extension.

Hope everyone else is feeling better today.

ThrockenAroundTheChristmasTree · 21/12/2006 10:29

my hobby is family history too (much better than much of the current family !).

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 10:42

ok here goes....

white, very pale (and interesting ha ha)
ALmost sholder length bob that I also have to dye as went grey in bits aged 19, AAAGGGHHH!!!
blue eyes

5ft 11 - I was pear shaped once apon a time, but now just fat!
size 18. Was slim until I met dp, who introduced me to so much foreign food and made me quit smoking.

dress mostly from next and debenhams for everyday stuff, house of fraser for nice stuff. Love nicole fahri jumpers.

Hobbies, hmm, love music, used to play a lot, but gave up after having the dts and sold all my insturments, read when I get the chance, mostly crappy chick lit out of sainsburys because never get chance to go to a bookshop! Currently on footprints int eh sand by sarah challis.

Drink wine or cocktails Current favourite is purple rain. Love making a huge jug of sangria with tons of fruit and sitting out in the garden in the summer.

Eat a lot of gujarati food, which has influences from african food too. Used to eat a fair bit of west indian food too, but can't get it here Also love south american, spanish, mexican, I LOVE cooking! Don't eat beef though.

favourite holiday, hmm, I'd love to visit thailand. My idea of a holiday is two weeks spent madly rushing around trying to see as mcuh as possible! Def no relaxing on a beach for me - cna do that at home.

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 12:45

Oh I think we should meet up, it would be such fun and we'd get so many odd looks if all the DTs were there too or we could do a northern meet up and a southern one, HM we could get up to FG couldn't we?!

ok here's me...

white, slightly olive tone, combination skin with spots once a month, like now
hair newly cut to a sort of mid-ear length bob type thing to stop me alternating between spending 30 mins 'doing' it or just tying it back and not caring...
brown eyes
5ft 7"
size 14
not giving weight but am reasonably well proportioned, get away with being a size 14 even though am heavier than I should be
dress - Jigsaw when I can, Zara, Gap, Next, M&S...
hate shoes, hate my feet like fg, mine are long and wide and I never wear heels
not fussed about nail varnish or make up but like to use posh stuff!
round/oval shaped face
love reading, my DTs, online shopping, holidays, cooking when I can be bothered, would like to think of myself as a domestic goddess
am pretty shy and not v sociable and I think people think I'm just rude but I'm not really!
v bossy and like to be in control
favourite holiday would be warm, pool or beach don't mind, or skiing in cirsp, cold sunshine
love music too, indie ish stuff (holding onto my sixth form days, should get over it really!) also spanish/latin music and the rat pack type stuff
love fizzy sweets, nuts, wine - a fresh chablis in the summer, a warm shiraz or cab sauv at this time of year, champagne any time

HarktheHarrogateMumisSinging · 21/12/2006 13:06

oooh yes lapin, I am sure we could get up to bonnie Scotland! The two of us should really meet up in the meantime as we arent more than an hour/hour and a half from each other are we?

Still waiting for everyone elses descriptions.....Kelly, pleased there is someone as tall as me!

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 13:12

yes I think we should meet up too HM, sometime in the New Year, once I've got over the shock of working p/t again!

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 14:24

should be some other tall mums too - taller woman are generally mroe fertile so more likely to have twins

I jsut realised I left the pale bit in my post from when I copied and pasted hm's! I am pale too though, far too pasty. Roll on summer.

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 14:51

My neighbour has had her baby girl, just popped round to see her sooooo cute and wrinkly

piximon · 21/12/2006 15:05

I am less pixi and very much more a gothy Dawn French, although not happy with it.
Had lost two stone before getting pg this time and sadly it's all gone back on with interest.
I'm 5.4ish
Pale skin
Long dyed black hair (although naturally dark started finding the greys when I was 14!)
Was happiest when my hair was purple.
Usually dressed in black from anywhere that takes my fancy and with big stompy boots but stuck in frumpy mat wear and trainers for time being.
Can't reach my feet or my nails would be black/red, bit all my fingernails off in a stress the other day.
Love to read when I can find the time (my cousin just bought me the Wicked book for xmas), hot bubble baths and gigs and festivals.
Like to drink cocktails and used to be able to drink everyone I knew under the table, now can manage two glasses.
Have not given into meat cravings just yet so fave food still homemade veg curry with nan.

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 21/12/2006 15:16

Well I reckon we could do a Scottish meetup lol! We could book into a b&b and get cheap RyanAir flights or something.

Then we could do a southern meetup by DD and book into a b&b and get cheap RyanAir flights or something!

I think we should make a plan in the New Year!

piximon · 21/12/2006 15:25

Train takes a bit longer but was half the price of cheap flights when I went to Edinburgh earlier this year (if you booked two singles instead of a return).

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 21/12/2006 15:30

So do you think we could survive a train journey then Pixi? We'd need a shedload of crappy food for the kids to eat, a mountain of games and books and the biggest vat of vodka we could find (for us you understand!) lol

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 16:41

Sounds like a plan Mars & Pixi, I'll join the train at Darlington with fresh supplies

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 16:42

I notice FG has gone all quiet since mention of the Scottish invasion

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 16:43

hmm, if I was to go up to scotland it would have to be sumer, no way I want to brave it this time of year!

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 16:43

imagine, an army of multiples and their mums, coming to sniff her out.

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 16:46

LOL good point Kelly, its cold enough here! I suppose we could all invade Harrogate instead, must be half way ish between the 2 extremes. We could 'take the waters' or what ever it is

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 16:50

harrogate is niice. I'd actually really like to go up there again, I went to uni very close to there. Still too bloody cold this tiem of year tho!

dingdonglapinroseonhigh · 21/12/2006 16:52

Must be really hot down there Kelly!!!

Kelly1978GotRunOverByAReindeer · 21/12/2006 16:57

I wish It's about 1c out. But I jsut ahve memories of a winter feelign cold non stop in yorkshire! And the wind, nooooo. I was right on the edge of the moors. Very scenic. I jsut really really hate being cold, I want to emigrate altogether.

FrostyTheSnowMarsLady · 21/12/2006 17:04

So what about a Spring invasion? That'll give the new DTs and DC time to grow a little so that we can all pinch fat cheeks!

Kelly... everything I wanted in the Next Sale is sold out!
