Morning girls xx

had a full 4 hours sleep Hmm Trips and anyone else who has kids who will start 6th form college in the next couple of years WARNING WARNING your child will have shed loads of homework Grin and I mean SHED LOADS!!!

Sat here till about 11pm with Tom (who had droopy eyelids by the time we finished) helping with a presentation he has to do on Friday!!!

He is doing a Btec IT practitioner......luckily no exams with a Btec but they are assessed every week and awarded marks for 3 pieces of homework - up to now he has managed to get 2 distinctions (equivalent to an A at A level standard) and he is determined to get his third this week.

IT would not be a subject I would choose.......so boring!!!! - but he loves it!!

Morning all.............kids in bed as teachers on strike! Inconsiderate of them not to have made it a Monday so we could have had a w/end away :o
Been worrying myself how much of a nightmare it will be when we get our new kitchen fitted, how do you cope for a week without a kitchen, where do you put it all when it arrives??? Anyone want 5 lodgers?
Has anyone any ideas as yet what you are getting your teenage dcs for Christmas? I am wondering about the Tesco Hudl for my three, they each have cracked screens on phones and ipods atm. Not sure if it would be "cool" enough for them, could get three with my club card vouchers on their double up thingy.

Mama hope you got some sleep xx

Chopstheduck · 17/10/2013 08:19

Morning girls

Happy birthday Bubby xx ThanksCake

Hope everything goes well for Apollo today, Mama, will be thinking of him this morning xx

Wow, shabs, Tom is doing fantastically. Grin DS1 is getting tons of homework too, I think yesterday was the first day he has had none, and he was over the moon. He has been working til gone 8 some days, so 5 hours after school, which seems a lot for an 11 year old.

The Hudls do look good trips, I know one of my friends is getting them for her kids and her oldest is 15, so they must be fairly cool. dd already has a tablet, only problem is that it seems to be very addictive and we have had to limit it. Her behaviour def went downhill the more time she spent on it. Though dt1 also has one, and he isn't so bad with it.

I'm hoping to stay away from tech this year they all have far too much. I'm thinking some decent scooters for the boys to take to the skate park, they broke all theirs several years ago but had heaps of fun in the summer playing on scooters belonging to a friend's sons. DS1 needs a new bike. DD will be impossible. She is only really into anime and manga these days - all of which is horrendously expensive. I tend to be tight quite careful with money and pick up bargains, but it's impossible with the sort of things she is into now.

Mine are all off for strikes too, boys were up before 7, dd hasn't surfaced yet. Probably going to take them ice skating this morning since I still have a groupon voucher to use up.

Hey ladies. A quick update; Apollo made it through surgery, he flat lined within minutes of being under but managed to get him back quickly. No other complications. His still has a heart murmur but they say it's harmlesa. So bloody relieved! Xx

Chopstheduck · 17/10/2013 15:46

I've been checking back in every so often, so glad he made it through the surgery ok. Well done, Apollo! Hope he soon recovers and you get some cuddles with him.

Thanks, ladies.

So far he's doing well, his sats are more stable and higher than they ever have been. All good signs. He's still struggling to breath but that's down to his RDS but hopefully this surgery will help.

Artie is oxgyen free! And tomorrow being moved into an open cot. They say she needs to grow, put on weight and see if she can feed fully without the tube and then she'll be ready for home! They're hoping mid-November :)

Thanks for the b.day wishes ladies.
Mama - so relieved about little Apollo, clever little boy Wink
Trips/Chops -We were lucky in a way with the strikes, as they had the one here on a Friday, so it just made a long weekend
Shabs- Your Tom is a clever lad with bags of enthusiasm, he is bound to do well.
Soks - hope lunch with your mum went well the other day, sorry I forgot to mention it yesterday.
DH has bought me a handbag I admired in a shop over a month ago, didnt think he had noticed. Grin Its a bag I will hardly ever use, as its a grey schiffon beaded evening bag, but I just love knowing its mine and I can look at it whenever I likeGrin Grin

triplets · 17/10/2013 23:18

Wonderful news Mama...........you must be feeling so relieved, what a little fighter :)
What a sweet line Bubbs about your grey bag, love it :)

MultipleMama · 18/10/2013 00:35

Sok - They were due on 3rd December. I know they said Mid-November as an optimistic date but they say it's a good time frame to aim for but to also be prepared and aware that things change. I understand all that but just knowing that they're thinking of time frames is one more step to getting her home. I'm surprised myself at how well she's doing, she's feeding well but so impatient with it.

Apollo opened his eyes!! Only for a few minutes but so worth it, I just... seeing him open his eyes was like relief, sounds silly but when he was so pale after his surgery and so limp it was scary even though they said he was fine, I guess I needed that reassurance from him that he was.

Bubby - That was nice of DH to remember something like that and buy it you. I feel the same with shoes. Sometimes, I buy them because they look pretty...

Exhausted and emotional strung out. Time to put this phone down and cuddle with my kiddie winks seeing as they've hijacked our bed.

Afternoon ladies. X

MultipleMama · 18/10/2013 20:22

I swear my kids are going to give me a heart attack. First, Dee decides a sofa would be the best place to jump from and ends up nutting his head on the toy box. Hello, stitches. Then K decises VaVa's new helmet needs more colour and painted it and A decided to help. I now have 3 clingy DC, a grumpy DH and to top it off I haven't been able to visit the A-team, today. Oh and I ruined my favourite dress :(

How's your day been, ladies? X

Been to bed once Hmm LUCKILY my brother went to my parents at lunch time.....when he got there a sales rep was sat with them telling them they needed a new garage!!! He told them there was dangerous asbestos in the old one and for ELEVEN THOUSAND PISSIN' POUNDS he would build them a new one. Angry My brother (and he has been horrible with me since all this started) told the sales rep to get outside because he wanted a word with him.

Their house is raised up quite high and the drive way is steep. My brother ended up screaming in the face of the rep and backing him down the drive. Told him exactly what he would do to him if he came back.

That is the second 'sales rep' to call at my parents in the last few weeks. Have reported both of them on the non emergency police phone number. Why would anybody do that? I am constantly broke but I would never cheat anyone like that.

Sat here now.....its all quiet in the house. Got Joannah Lumleys 'Greek Oddessey' playing quietly on the telly and wide awake!!!

Need to slap myself across the face to be honest!!

shabbatheGreek · 19/10/2013 07:42

Morning girls xx

Gave up trying to sleep about 3am!!

Sokmonsta · 19/10/2013 11:33

Morning.

MultipleMama · 19/10/2013 14:41

They need to make those dog head cones for children... I don't know how many times I've pulled Dee's fingers away from his stitches but I'm 2 seconds away from borrowing one from the vet!

Apollo is doing well, still relying on the ventilator but he's taking more breathes and he isn't sucking in his chest as much, he has much more colour in his body and he's opening his eyes more. Still haven't held him yet. Artie is spoiled rotten with all the cuddles she's been receiving! :)

Hope you managed some sleep, Shabs. That's disgusting what those sales reps where doing. How dare they prey on them like that. I hate people like that. They're thieves.

Sok, I hope James is fairing better today. How are the LOs today? x

triplets · 19/10/2013 15:26

Good afternoon ladies, if you can call it that. Peeing it down, very miserable in fact. Everyone sat here bored. Just made some Indian kebabs to go with usual chicken curry tonight.............anyone want to come? Could do with some stimulating company, need a chat and a bottle of wine.........................

triplets · 19/10/2013 22:48

Was it something I said ?Confused
Even made my own poppadums, where were you all?

MultipleMama · 19/10/2013 23:35

Awww did I miss the food?! Dammit. I made homemade vegetarian lasagne with garlic bread. Still have leftovers.

Next time; if you make a veggie curry, I'll send over the DC. They seem to be really into their food lately. I'm fed up of cooking. Grin

So tired, I want a bubble bath but DH is at the hospital, DF is out with friends and the twins refuse to sleep and wake each other up but as soon as you split them up to sleep they freak out. I need a babysitter. Any takers? Lol.
