Had a quick glance and someone on £1400 ish won a big price with just bonds bought for £50. So low amounts boight can win! Probably why I’m still here…. HOPE 😂

Am just wondering what is the largest win anyone has admitted to on any of these threads.

My largest ever win is £100 and I have had Bonds since I was born !!

I won £1000 on one bond in February.

I was very lucky in June and won a £25k prize.

Hoping that others on here swipe to win big too! It's far more exciting than swiping on Tinder!

Good luck for September everyone.

NImumconfused · 01/09/2023 09:04

I love the fact that two people won £5000 on holdings of just £15 and £50 - gives us holders with relatively small amounts some hope!!

RoyalImpatience · 01/09/2023 09:17

@Selfesteem23

I don't understand what you mean. Re they had 50 bond.

I thought when I pay any money in it buys bonds I don't know how much they cost but if I pay 100 in, that will buy more bonds?
And the more bonds you have the mote raffle tickets you have to increase your chance of winning?

RoyalImpatience · 01/09/2023 09:20

@OneFrenchEgg that's interesting because when I had my initially 5 grand in there I did buy it in in go and ok, I didn't win big but I had a good run of 7 x 25 wins. Now I pay in smaller amounts monthly

RoyalImpatience · 01/09/2023 09:22

@Frances0911

If you don't have is as i would open isa one cash fixed rate and one stocks and shares and maybe leave 500 in pb

RoyalImpatience · 01/09/2023 09:23

1 grand into cash isa on fixed rate, some good rates at the moment.
1 half into stocks and rest pb

One bond cost £1, but you have to buy a minimum of £25.

Each bond has a number. All the numbers are entered into a draw. Each month there is a draw and numbers are given prizes from £1 million down to £25. The more bonds you have the greater the chance of willing.

Some people think that old bonds don’t get picked, or bonds bought in a big chunk are more likely to be picked. It doesn’t work like that. Each number is just as likely to be picked as each other.

RoyalImpatience · 01/09/2023 09:39

So what do people mean then... A 50 bond

LuckOfTheDrawer · 01/09/2023 09:46

I think they mean a single bond that was bought in a block of 50 bonds.

Cowhen · 01/09/2023 09:54

I told myself that I wasn't going to look at the big winners list but couldn't resist. No big win for me this month. Wishing everyone good luck!

It means that the winning bond was within a £50 block. Overall the winner has £1400 in bonds, but at some point they bought a £50 block and it’s one of those that won.

RoyalImpatience · 01/09/2023 09:58

Ok thanks

gettingolderbutcooler · 01/09/2023 10:01

When do these high winners get their email?
eagerly refreshing inbox

Ohmylovejune · 01/09/2023 10:17

High winners get letters and a claim form.

I did get an email.too but it didn't mention how much. It was the same email that comes with normal wins. I'd won £50 as well that month.

The £50 win was paid direct into my savings a count as normal. The high value prize win was only paid once I'd completed and sent off the claim form in the post.

Rupiduti · 01/09/2023 07:40

I find the list really confusing, I don't know how best to search!
I only have a small amount in there £2k. But think I'll add in a random figure to make it easier to search next time.
I don't think I've won anything!

If you have your bond numbers to hand you could type in the start of the number code in the search box and it'll bring all similar matches

Imafirestarter · 01/09/2023 10:23

Looking at the list of winners, there's a possibility that I have won £1000 but have logged into my account and the balance is still the same. Does it take a few days to reach my account? (I'm set up for winnings to be reinvested)

RosieS22 · 01/09/2023 10:29

Someone in Australia has won £50k off a £5 bond from '68!! Crazy!

Imafirestarter · 01/09/2023 10:32

Actually, just realised how to check. Don't think it's me after all :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/09/2023 10:39

Ah alas not on the high winners list

But lots who won with less than me so they always gives me hope and why I do this

One day maybe ......

And £25 won £10k !!!

I wish I could hold out and not look at the high value winners list but there is no chance if I’m wfh and have a meeting free day…
Hey ho-here’s hoping for lots of smaller prizes tomorrow.

LuckOfTheDrawer · 01/09/2023 10:42

The emails take a good few days to arrive I think.

No winnings don't go in for a few days.

I have heard that if you have chosen prize reinvestment in bonds then it shows in the pending balance earlier but I've never tested it as I'm at FH so can't reinvest

s14a · 01/09/2023 11:33

Doesn't look like any high wins this month for us either.
I'm hoping for any win this month. Our last one was June!
