I didn't know this thread was here, how exciting. Is there a bond thread every month? I used to win a lot then went 15 months with nothing then got £50 in January then two months with nothing again.

I do a new one when it's getting close to 1000 or a new month /draw is about to start

Lovely thanks, I'll keep a watch on the thread 🙂

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/03/2023 18:10

@ShakespearesBlister as this one is new for March / it will prob last April and maybe May

But should be on your threads j
I'm on so sis one usually bumps it up around the 24/25 as we get excited again.

The first of the month is the worst day to buy bonds, as then you need to wait two full months (about 60 days depending on which months) until they're in a draw. If you buy them on the 28th they go in a draw after 29-31 days instead.

Thanks so much for that tip. I will change the date!

Ames85 · 17/03/2023 11:26

Is it me or is this month dragging ☹️
I could really do with being a millionaire already. Quite a wait yet

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/03/2023 11:28

Think as feb is so short

LaRitournelle · 17/03/2023 22:23

Yup March always feels long, not just for pre bonds but payday too! Still two weeks away 😩

TennisWithDeborah · 18/03/2023 08:49

And the 1st is a Saturday which means no app update until 3rd. Or am I
wrong?

ChessieFL · 18/03/2023 08:50

App is saying results on 4th.

PriamFarrl · 18/03/2023 15:51

Well that is my 21st wedding anniversary, so surely I’ll be due a £1m for that.

OnedayIwillfeelfree · 18/03/2023 17:43

Zilch, for the first time in 10 months. FH. But I did win £4 on euromillions!

Babytwodue · 18/03/2023 20:29

My husband received a cheque yesterday for £100 from the Feb premium bonds draw wooohooo!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/03/2023 21:08

A cheq? I haven't had one of those for years - always go into my account /get new ones

OP posts:
Babytwodue · 19/03/2023 06:58

@Blondeshavemorefun I know! We keep meaning to change the way it’s paid but involves calling them etc and just never get round to it

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/03/2023 08:28

I admit I did get excited when I saw an envelope as you just know they are pb and dh will ring and say omg we've won. Can I open it 😂

OP posts:
RealHousewifeOfPontypandy · 21/03/2023 13:59

Can I check something - on the prize checking app, does it check all of your PB based on your account number? So I don't need to check anything else?

UrsulaPandress · 21/03/2023 17:40

Yes it checks your entire holding.

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/03/2023 21:55

Yes does them all

And any others if you have their number

A question for all you PB experts if you don't mind please...

If I have a large-ish sum to invest in PBs, is it better to buy them in one block or several smaller ones, or does it make no difference? If I bought them all in one block, what happens if I then want to withdraw some but not all of the money? Can you withdraw part of a block and leave the rest there?

Any help much appreciated, thanks!

InMySpareTime · 22/03/2023 10:50

Makes no difference, and I think the default is that oldest bonds are sold first.

InMySpareTime · 22/03/2023 10:52

You can sell any amount you like, it doesn't matter what size blocks you bought in. It's just like having a savings account except instead of interest, you get entries in a prize draw.

OneFrenchEgg · 22/03/2023 10:59

I think there's an idea that blocks win more often, rather than small amounts - I've seen that suggested. But I suspect that's because people in blocks are investing more!

nearly55 · 22/03/2023 11:43

Thanks so much for your quick replies - that's all really helpful. I'll crack on and do some bond buying, and hopefully be joining you all in celebrating some wins from May onwards!

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/03/2023 11:44

As others said make no different ans yes you can sell /cash then in any time

Oldest will go first unless you say you don't want that

I’m glad you said that. If I cash them in I don’t want my single bond from 1957 to be cashed in.
