Yes £2 winning. Wow

sadly few hours later I still haven’t won …….

hey Ho. Maybe £25 tomorrow

so many London. Then inner london and outer London. What’s the difference

RubbishDay · 03/01/2023 07:10

No big win for me. Fingers crossed for tomorrow 🤞

Babytwodue · 03/01/2023 07:14

I’m not on the list either 😞
there’s so many people with £50k invested, I wonder if my measley £2500 will ever win

I noticed that - all the big winners in my area were £40k plus.

Daydreamer22 · 03/01/2023 08:14

Well obviously the people with more bonds have more chance of winning but there’s plenty on that list with small holdings so I always take that as a thought that well it could be me one day.

I’m only 4K +. I buy a few
more bonds each month as extra to my savings account and overpaying my mortgage. I like being in with a chance even though it’s small. Prizes have increased this year and now the chance of winning higher has too.

im happy when I win a low prize tbh. I’m not a lucky person 😂🙈

@Babytwodue how I feel.

used to have lots (well like £20k) but tax bill - new car and general day to day stuff and it’s very low now

would love to win £50k and top it up 😂

but happy with £25 here and there

many have £50k. Then I see winners who have less than me and that gives me hope

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2023 08:38

@Daydreamer22 that how I feel.

lots have less then me but winning £1/5/10k or even odd £100k

so gives me Hope ….

Is anyone else having a problem logging in to the ns&i website? I want to check my PB numbers

WeAreBorg · 03/01/2023 08:44

Oh no this is so disappointing!

I sort of think that it’s unfair that the 50k people win as they’re well off enough to have 50K sat around. Then I think life is unfair. Then I think maybe I would have 50K if I worked hard and saved well like those people, they’ll probably spend the money really wisely and help lots of people.
Then I think nah, fuck them 😂

I like the idea of a little Charlie (as in the chocolate factory) winning loads off one bond that he saved up all his paper round money for!

I should probably concentrate on my job instead of PB fantasising 😂

OublietteBravo · 03/01/2023 09:08

Wow! There seem to be loads of winners from Kirklees.

FunctionalSkills · 03/01/2023 09:12

Yes I often think if I had 50k in savings I wouldn't "need" the win so much!

My dad used to say it was easy to make money when you have money....

Teatime55 · 03/01/2023 09:12

So I’ve had a look at the list and there is a possible for us, our area, our holdings and opening date. Fingers crossed (for £5k)

Oooh good luck!

Don't lose hope - I've just looked at the list, sorted by lowest holding value and someone with £2 bought in 1970 has won £10k this month! That £2 paid off in the end Grin

Ooh and as I go down the list - one of the £1m winners only has £4625 - jealous!!

Luana1 · 03/01/2023 09:46

I think for the majority of people £1m would be completely life-changing. Maybe the obscene amounts of money people can win on the euro millions have skewed people's views of what a life changing amount should be. But for example if I won a million we would pay off our mortgage and still have around £750k left, I could go down to part time hours if not completely quit my job and study for a career change. We could travel more and show our DC the world, and possibly pay for private education if the local comp is still 'requires improvement' by the time they are at secondary school age. Yes we wouldn't be flying places in private jets and have multiple properties but £1m would absolutely be life-changing for us.

Good luck to everyone, the only time we have won anything in the past 15 years is the month we had full holdings due to being in between house moves, and then it was only £25 so I think we are not particularly lucky with premium bonds!

ChessieFL · 03/01/2023 09:53

I spend a ridiculous amount of time trying to work out in my head whether £1m would be enough for me to give up work! At least it would enable me to go part time, or give up my sometimes stressful job and do something else instead.

iminapickleofhoarding · 03/01/2023 10:16

when you see people who only invested a couple of months ago and won big. I’ve been in with large amounts for years and only ever get £25 here and there.

RubbishDay · 03/01/2023 10:20

1 million would be plenty for DH and I to retire on but then we aren't at the beginning of our careers.

I think I won more when I didn't have full holdings 🤷‍♀️

FunctionalSkills · 03/01/2023 10:25

We'd be fine on 1m ! Isn't that 50k a year for 20 years...

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/01/2023 10:40

Fingers crossed @Teatime55

of you download the huge list you will know the number that won and check against yours
