Sorry for the unimaginative title and welcome back to the regulars.

Welcome to all the newbies 👋 hopefully these threads will help you as much as they've helped me and many others. I’ve been accepted by WWW and have a video call scheduled, anyone know what to expect from that?

I've not heard of that being part of the process before. Is it like a zoom interview?

Nothing to worry about! Mainly for ID verification I think but all I can remember is having a lovely chat about why I was looking at freelance work and my availability, that kind of thing. I think it was about 15-20 minutes long. Oh and they explain the training process too and afterwards I got sent my first files to try that got QAd for my induction.

But well done for qualifying, and welcome!

8DPWoah · 13/08/2022 22:08

Came on to say that I've been paid on time by SSci and have got work again so from my point of view all is good with that one, too, at the moment.

Anyone want to give me a Streetbees referral code?

I have onelink.to/streetbees with referral code 73773X

ruralwanderer · 14/08/2022 08:24

@8DPWoah same here 👍

Hi all, got a question about Trading 212. I followed someone's link ages ago and got put on a waiting list. Today I got emailed to say I could set up an account, but I don't know if the existing link I clicked will still be attached if I sign up now. Is it one of those ones where you get free shares for signing up? Should I try and use someone's link now?

Graphista · 17/08/2022 15:36

Trying to set up payoneer but the part with personal info isn't letting me edit and details are wrong any help?

Graphista · 17/08/2022 15:54

Also ms office. I have it free online at the moment mostly use excel at the moment but need other parts too, but I'm getting pop ups saying "on x date most features of excel will be disabled. Choose an option below to reactivate:

Sign in - add this computer to an active account
Buy - I want to renew or buy office
Enter key - I have a product key"

Want to keep using/having access to ms office and also could possibly be useful for me to use out and about offline at times.

But I'm not made of money (this is why I need to start earning!)

And I wouldn't wanna do anything dodgy either so what's the advice guys?

Also open to using other brands of similar software as it's all quite similar and I've found I quickly learn eg I also use iOS numbers on my phone

I gave up and ended up buying an office 365 subscription, as I use it every day for my printables business. It works seamlessly between my devices and has lots of storage. It starts at £5.99 a month but there is a discount if you buy a year.

Goingtofast · 17/08/2022 21:20

Yeah the Microsoft office has to be paid for, you used to be able to pick up licence keys on eBay for pennies but they’ve cracked down on that
I need to renew mine this month too

Boofhead · 18/08/2022 00:23

I need some Appen invoice advice.

I didn't submit my July invoice because I mistakenly thought the minimum was $20.

What happens now? I think you can only submit one invoice a month, so will I have to wait until I don't have any work to submit it? Is there any way to combine it with the next invoice? It's only $17, but I'd prefer not to lose it! Thanks

8DPWoah · 18/08/2022 09:35

@Boofhead I'm sorry I don't know the answer to your query but you could rise a help ticket on Appen, it's a bit hit and miss but they're generally helpful once you've managed to get through to them!

I've had my notice on my hour a day project, I knew it was coming at it's been 13 months on it but oh boy will I miss it! No luck on any of the other App projects I've got in the pipeline so it might be time for me to look at Tel I guess!

Boofhead · 18/08/2022 10:22

@8DPWoah thanks for your reply. I try to avoid raising tickets, but I think I'll have to this time.

Appen can be so frustrating can't it? I hated my 1 hour a day project when I had it - then really missed it when I got kicked off!

Graphista · 18/08/2022 10:49

£5.99 a month is doable I've only found full year subscriptions which is too much for me all at once

I've been spending too much and that's on me I need to rein that in but I also need an income I'll look into that thanks.

My confidence is shot! I see jobs/tasks posted in various places but I'm scared to apply for them in case I can't do them and as I'm on benefits I'm scared to mess my money up trying things

PoseyFlump · 18/08/2022 11:01

@Graphista you need to look into the legalities of doing say Appen tasks etc if you're on benefits. Most people here are declaring their earnings as self employed but I've heard it can be tricky with benefits so worth figuring it all out before you go full steam ahead.

Graphista · 18/08/2022 11:17

@PoseyFlump I have done I'm keeping myself right there I've a friend works for dwp and she has told me what I need to do and when. Not earned anything yet so not a factor at the moment. Thanks though

BecauseOfIndia · 18/08/2022 11:19

@Graphista I use Open Office which is free and has all the same festures as Word / Excel I've found.

@SummerHolidaysAgain I posted a link to Trading212 a while ago so it may have been mine you used, I've just been to check and the free share promotion is only on sporadically, not permenantly, so I suspect if you use it now it won't work. You need to wait until the next promo period. I have to say I love the app and now is a great time to buy shares as the prices are rock bottom. If you buy ones that pay dividends and buy cheaply they almost pay for themselves! 😀

Graphista · 18/08/2022 11:59

@BecauseOfIndia can open office be used offline?

SummerHolidaysAgain · 18/08/2022 12:31

@BecauseOfIndia thanks for that, I’ll join up anyway. Any suggestions as to shred that pay dividends? Or is there a way to filter for that on the app?

SummerHolidaysAgain · 18/08/2022 12:31

Shares, not shred!

betterdaysaheadforsure · 18/08/2022 12:58

@ruralwanderer would you mind if I messaged you directly regarding shifts at Potato

Februarycat · 18/08/2022 12:59

@Graphista I use LibreOffice it's free

BecauseOfIndia · 18/08/2022 13:11

Graphista · 18/08/2022 11:59

@BecauseOfIndia can open office be used offline?

Yes, it's a free download. Takes a little bit of getting used to if you're used to Word but ultimately does all the same stuff. I actually prefer it to Word as it's more intuitive.

@SummerHolidaysAgain When you click on a company to look at their history / info it will tell you whether of not they pay dividends and what the % is. Some are more generous than others!

PoseyFlump · 18/08/2022 19:25

@Graphista that's good to hear you've got it all figured out 👍 would be awful to do a load of work and then lose money another way!

Callisto1 · 18/08/2022 21:01

Hi everyone, I've been lurking around these threads for a while trying to pick up ideas on how to earn some extra £ in the evenings.
I've finally got an invite to prolific and I just wanted to check how many studies people usually get per day. At the moment I get maybe 1-2 short studies a day for £0.5 - 1. I check the website 3-4 times a day. Is that normal? Just wondering if August is slow or I'm doing something wrong.
