Sorry for the unimaginative title and welcome back to the regulars.

Welcome to all the newbies 👋 hopefully these threads will help you as much as they've helped me and many others. Been using it for a while and it’s all fine. you have to withdraw straight to your bank account rather than PayPal though. No problems at all with it.

Oh, i use PayPal. It may have changed though since i started.

lem0njelly · 08/08/2022 19:25

Main thing I find a bit of a pain with Payoneer is the minimum withdrawal amount so it takes a while (for me anyway) to build up enough to withdraw since I don't seem to get much Appen stuff. I've set Clickworker to pay to Payoneer as well so that helps build it up. I think it's $50 min withdrawal (but I convert to GBP before withdrawal)

justalittlebitextra · 08/08/2022 19:50

I think Payoneer creams off $3 somewhere as well (either on payment in or withdrawal - I can’t remember which).

I’ve not had any issues with them at all since I got it set up though, although their two stage verification requires lightening fingers! Withdrawals have always hit my UK account as soon as UK banking hours start.

ruralwanderer · 08/08/2022 21:16

Payoneer is completely legit but an absolute pain in the bum as you can't withdraw until you have $50 in the account which if you're only doing the surveys, takes forever to accumulate...

Hi all,

I'm interested in supplementing my income with some online work but it's all a bit mind boggling! Have signed up to a few of the websites mentioned, Rev, Prolific etc. did the Crisp entry test and scored 18/20, apparently have to get 19/20 to get on the wait list?! Anyone know if I can try again?

Also interested in transcription as I'm a fast ish typer so have signed up for WWW as well. I have some free time Wednesday so will have a proper look then.

8DPWoah · 09/08/2022 11:20

Hi @Socathe and anyone else looking at WWW, I'm saying this unofficially but don't be put off if they take a little while to come back to you as they've just started a major migration project... Doesn't help with the income side of things but I guess what I mean is don't be disheartened if you don't hear back quickly as it's only a small team so things may be a little less slick than they normally are (and they normally are, and very reliable payers, so I'd say it's definitely worth anyone giving it a try!).

On a related note, no Search Sci pay for me yet this month, and no work yet either...

PoseyFlump · 09/08/2022 11:27

@8DPWoah what sort of audio do you get with WWW? Interesting stuff? I find App transcription interesting but some other companies I've done stuff for have been very boring corporate stuff. Generally recorded telephone sales calls.

8DPWoah · 09/08/2022 11:58

Oh I love it @PoseyFlump it's very rarely boring! I've done lots of education-related work like focus groups, but also social studies research work, some TV interview transcripts. There's other stuff that comes up like business and finance but there's generally enough work that I can avoid that most of the time as I don't have much background knowledge so it takes me a while to learn the terminology they're using. I have done a few science conference transcripts as well as that's my degree but they are heavy going!

It's quite nice too as they tend to retain clients so you sometimes see the same project coming up on the job list, once you've found one you like you can keep an eye out for it. I know it's hard to get into but I class WWW as my first sideline these days and I'd be quite happy to keep doing it for the foreseeable.

FollowTheRain · 09/08/2022 22:26

I really hope I hear from WWW I’ve been on the waiting list for 2 months and tried really hard on the online assessments so hope it was worth it lol.
ap transcription, annoying QA’s aside… can be enjoyable but god there’s a a lot of randomness in there, I often wonder where the work comes from and why people would want most of these things transcribed!

Veryverycalmnow · 09/08/2022 22:28

Thanks for sharing all this

PoseyFlump · 10/08/2022 06:31

@8DPWoah thanks for that! Good for people to know it's worth the effort 😊

@FollowTheRain yes, lots of randomness! Some of them genuinely make me laugh out loud while others have me racing for the skip button 😂

Socathe · 10/08/2022 07:54

Thanks @8DPWoah for the heads up.

For those of you who have been doing this for a while, I would love to know roughly how much you earn each month and roughly how many hours you put in for that amount? If you don't mind answering. I know it will vary month to month but a few examples would be helpful. Just trying to get an idea if it would be worth it for me time wise for the amount of money you can earn. Thank you!

Redcrayons · 10/08/2022 08:04

@Socathe you can take the test as many times as you like. Remember that content can have more than one risk. But. There’s a massive waiting list, over a year, so keep your options open.

ruralwanderer · 10/08/2022 09:05

@socathe, I time record everything that I do and have attached a screenshot from my app to show my last few months' work. The £ totals aren't 100% as some work is in dollars which the app doesn't convert for me (minimal though, just the Appen surveys and the odd Intellizoom task) but the time spent is spot on. Hope this helps 🙂

Sorry, the thread kind of moved on. I was replying to a post about Crisp.

ive no idea about WWW

Socathe · 10/08/2022 09:56

@ruralwanderer that's very helpful thank you!

FollowTheRain · 10/08/2022 20:27

Made around 600 so far this month but things are drying up. Just applied to Rev as my ap* transcription seems to have finished today, not sure how often work comes up on there, as I’ve only just started with it. Really need to find something that is reliable as freelancing is my only income source atm

Claudiawinklemansfringe · 11/08/2022 08:38

Just a heads up that 20cogs (mentioned in very useful opening post) closed down on 1st August....

Jessesgirl13 · 11/08/2022 12:07

I have started to sign up with WWW, however I seem to be struggling to get past the audio exam! There were a couple that were hard to make out but I thought the rest were fine. I always considered myself to have good spelling and grammar so have no idea where I was even going wrong!

ruralwanderer · 11/08/2022 16:45

@Claudiawinklemansfringe, thanks for the heads up, if I start next month's thread, I'll remove it (and Grapevine who also no longer exist).

I’ve been accepted by WWW and have a video call scheduled, anyone know what to expect from that?

animalcrossingfan2021 · 12/08/2022 18:38

If anyone would like to join Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel pm me and I can refer you.
You don't have to do anything it just runs in the background of your computer. I have been using it for 18 months and have made £80 so far. Not bad for doing nothing 😀
We both receive £10 of points when you sign up via my link.

Gatekeeper · 12/08/2022 22:08

Any one else been booted off the app Facebook suveys?

justalittlebitextra · 13/08/2022 08:05

@Gatekeeper yup- although I think they are closing as projects. I’m still on N.w…..n though (for the time being no doubt).
