@ruralwanderer , I was looking at Search Sciences, but I was a bit intimidated by their question about previous experience. Also, your two years comment - was that how long they took to get back to you?

ruralwanderer · 05/05/2022 06:39

@Shirleyjust yes, I'd forgotten that I'd applied but it was definitely worth the wait as I'm loving the work and there's plenty of it :)

@R2G thanks for posting about AttaPoll! Tried to sign up via your link but must have signed up ages ago! Made £3.17 in about an hour tonight!

I’ve managed to get about a quid today but I keep getting ‘disqualified’ and booted out of loads (especially the ones paying more) but not sure what I’m doing wrong?

It’s annoying doing a 20 minute survey and right at the end they say ‘sorry you’ve been disqualified’ makes it feel like a scam when I’ve given them loads of info! 😣

ruralwanderer · 04/05/2022 14:28

@peabrainer, this is the link: www.searchsciences.co.uk/index.asp

It's writing web content for a variety of organisations. Really interesting and unlike a lot of the other web-based work, has a real "team" feel to it. I only started in March after applying nearly 2 years ago but am really enjoying it. It made up the bulk of my income last month and I've been working on tasks for them all day today while the kids are at school. I'd hugely recommend them.

Thank you so much, it sounds really interesting

peabrainer · 05/05/2022 22:14

Anyone done project rush on Appen? If so what's it like?

Twobecomingthreeplusthedog · 05/05/2022 22:32

I have now applied for probably 70% of projects on Appen, approved for 8, 6 of those have finished before I was approved, 1 doesn’t allow you to put in an insta URL and one hasn’t started.

is it usual for projects to just sit at the ’in progress’ stage for weeks on end?

N0va · 06/05/2022 00:13

@90sBritPop I have this quite frequently. I think it's to get the information for their research they want and to get out of paying! I had one today booted me off after I entered that I was female and month/year of birth. Only thing I can advise to avoid being disqualified from surveys is to only complete ones with 3 or more stars, I find those don't do it but know they are few and far between.

I've managed to make £9.33 in 3 days so not too bad for me!

Yes I thought this too, surely they should screen you out at the beginning not after you’ve done it and are on the last question. I spent 20 minutes yesterday answering questions (proper text in boxes answers too) only to click my final answer and they disqualified me, the cheek!

Is there a way we can rate the surveys, I see the stars but no idea how we rate. I’ll definitely just choose 3 stars or more from now on. Suspicious his it’s always the long expensive ones that do this too!

Has anyone done the baseline tests for ‘index’ in appen?

PoseyFlump · 07/05/2022 08:17

@SurvivingTheGame it's best not to use full project names on here, Ap can be funny about it.

PoseyFlump · 07/05/2022 08:17

@SurvivingTheGame and yes I have, failed by one question Grin

N0va · 07/05/2022 09:39

Those of you that have business bank accounts - tide are offering £75 Uber eats voucher for using their cash flow insights

www.tide.co/features/cashflow-insights/

They also offer £75 for signing up to a business bank (usually added first week of the month) using code FREE75 and deposit £1 within 30 days.

I did the £75 and received payment beginning of April and have just done the Uber eats £76

@SurvivingTheGame and yes I have, failed by one question Grin

Oops I didn’t realise, thanks for the heads up 😳

I’ve also failed my first attempt, only just!
I think I’ll fail my next attempt too tbh, I feel like the guidelines don’t cover all eventualities 🤷‍♀️

PoseyFlump · 07/05/2022 11:26

Definitely @SurvivingTheGame I would say some of them are subjective. After I'd used up all my attempts I kept getting emails telling me to qualify. Went round in circles until the B login expired! Good luck. Keep a note of your answers for when you try again! Don't forget to check how old or recent they are Wink

justalittlebitextra · 07/05/2022 13:05

@SurvivingTheGame @SurvivingTheGame I've just been booted off I (and the associated ones) without ever getting as far as even doing the baseline quiz - I did the language proficiency one and passed and got added to the chat, sat there for 3 months and just got booted off last week with no further progress.

I had a decent-ish April - £85 surveys (mainly Prolific) and $613 from Ap*.

Was a poll clerk on Thursday and got called in last minute to do the count on Friday as well which was actually a pretty decent earner between them - should be about £500 for the two days work overall (although Thursday was a very long day - 6am - 10:30 plus two training sessions). Nothing challenging at all though.

RiverSkater · 08/05/2022 13:39

Is anybody on the additional task on Potato ? It promised so much! It's easier making the £10 per day target I set but it's not £10 per hour yet is it as content low.

Has anybody tried YLive Surveys? They seem to offer £2-5 per survey though they aren't that frequent. I can't work out where I found them but I've done a couple and they seem good.

justalittlebitextra · 08/05/2022 14:18

I like YLive - they used to be Populus Live. The surveys aren’t that frequent but they pay much better than most of the other survey sites and I hardly ever screen out as long as I do the survey reasonably quickly after getting the email. I probably earn £50 a year from them so not loads, but for very little effort.

Redcrayons · 08/05/2022 16:18

@RiverSkater I’m doing that task. I’ve done a little bit in there and find it easy enough, although not quite the ‘it’s just yes and no’ they said. I imagine they are just testing it out with a few clients at the moment.
I think it will pick up soon.

evtheria · 09/05/2022 17:22

@90sBritPop @N0va Re being kicked out after basically doing the entire survey Angry I always report them! There's a bit in the help section where you can complain about a survey, I do it because they say they keep track of ones that don't pay out... Often it goes nowhere, but I have had a few 'goodwill' payments before off Attapoll themselves by doing this, so they must check some of the time.
