Hi, please could someone tell me is PayPal credit different to PayPal? Also on statement ITunes Store is on there nearly every day all different amounts. What could this be? What could you buy every day that costs between £3-£15?

Apple is listed again daily for same sort of amounts!!

What could the purchase be?

Thanks

Ok so PayPal credit is just that… he’s taken out £1600 credit limit.

This is a game DD plays with her friends. The app has a password so she can’t buy gems without it. Gems are used to buy extra lives in the game.

I can look at PayPal but that is about it. I can look at his phone later and go into settings like advised, I am totally rubbish at these things. Rarely order online - typical technophobe!

Sorry if I am not making sense. I am just shocked!! Especially about the PayPal credit which is mostly apple.com and steam powered.com!!! I don’t get it though, the days the steam powered is on are days we were together all day, various amounts up to £70 ish

It’s pretty obvious she’s talking about her DP?

Suitcaseseverywhere · 28/09/2021 14:10

Is this your partner?

HagridHair · 28/09/2021 14:10

@Workinghardeveryday you have to apply for PayPal credit it's like a credit card. They ask you if you want it but you have to click yes.

On an iPhone to find purchases and subscriptions.

Settings
At the top there's your iCloud icon click that
In the first box at the bottom is subscriptions check them
Then purchases are in the second box (media and purchases)

Check every Apple device you own.

You can add PayPal as a payment on iCloud I just checked. If you don't agree with the purchases then email Apple and tell them

If it is fraud you should get it back, if it is a child you may get it back, if it is an adult on the account you won't

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 28/09/2021 14:10

First thing to do is change the PayPal password and activate two factor authentication.

SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:10

Yes Steam is games

Wabola · 28/09/2021 14:13

It sounds like someone is enjoying their workdays playing games in their breaks

SuperstoreFan · 28/09/2021 14:14

PayPal Credit is only interest free on purchases from £99 or above for four months so I'd be going ballistic.

Karwomannghia · 28/09/2021 14:14

What’s steam powered? Either your dp is spending or you’ve been hacked!

EasterIssland · 28/09/2021 14:15

is your account linked t your phone? sometimes I have to confirm with the paypaal when purchasing things that ti's me,

ILookAtTheFloor · 28/09/2021 14:15

This happened to my MIL and she thought it was fraud-- turns out her late husband had given one of the grandchildren his old Kindle and said grandchild had been buying in-game stuff. He's only 6! It has been linked to their joint Amazon account.

SuperstoreFan · 28/09/2021 14:16

Steam is a PC game seller and launcher.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:17

Yes sadly and embarrassing it is my ‘dp’.

He gets 2 15min breaks and 30 mins for lunch. How can anyone rack up that spending!! So iTunes has cost nearly £1. Other gaming has made up the majority of the rest.

Does he game outside of work? He might be buying microtransactions for games he plays in his spare time.

Fluffypastelslippers · 28/09/2021 14:19

@MovingSchmoving

It’s pretty obvious she’s talking about her DP?

It wasn't to me or I would not have asked. We don't all pick up the same when we read posts that don't say what they mean.

SuperstoreFan · 28/09/2021 14:21

Your DP is racking up interest on every purchase under £99 that was paid for by PayPal Credit.

SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:22

Steam is more for PC games so I would expect him to be playing on the PC outside of work if he spending money on that platform. Does he do that?

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:34

He does yes but only for 2 hours once a week. I just can’t believe he is so pathetic to spend that Amy of money gaming....

SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:35

Is it Football Manager by any chance?

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:36

I really need to see his phone so I have proof before I say anything

OP posts:
SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:37

Some games are cross platform so he might be playing on his PC at home and then in his breaks at work on the same game on his phone, etc. It is a heck of a lot of money though! DH and I are both gamers but we don't spend any money on microtransactions or stuff like that. I'd be fuming!

SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:37

Hope you get some answers soon, OP
