Hi, please could someone tell me is PayPal credit different to PayPal? Also on statement ITunes Store is on there nearly every day all different amounts. What could this be? What could you buy every day that costs between £3-£15?

Apple is listed again daily for same sort of amounts!!

What could the purchase be?

Thanks

Login to Paypal and delete your card and bank account.

Is DP not allowed to spend his own money on whatever he likes?

SuperstoreFan · 28/09/2021 14:40

@SylvanasWindrunner

Is it Football Manager by any chance?
As far as I know that has no micro-transactions, at least the PC version doesn't as it's not a pay to win game.
SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:42

Pretty sure it does nowadays, or at least the console version does. You can heal injured players, etc.

SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:43

Sadly most games have some element of microtransactions in them nowadays. Not always pay to win like mobile games but pay for cosmetics, convenience, etc.

SuperstoreFan · 28/09/2021 14:46

My husband used to play Football Manager quite a lot and he'll be disappointed that they've added micro-transactions as it didn't use to be that kind of game.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:48

I am, disappointed too as I thought he had grown up finally when it comes to money. Just spoken to him, didn’t let on anything was wrong. Said it would be a good idea to pay his £1500 credit card bill off with some of the loan he has recently got (solely to buy xrp). Said apart from the loan and mortgage you would be totally debt free, he declined because apparently he will be rich very soon with xrp, but agreed that was his only debt.

Not sure where to go from here really. I can’t say anything this week, I have something very stressful going on at the minute snd I need to get this week over first

It might be just limited to the console version and not PC. But there's some sort of magic sponge thing that heals your players and various other bits. I don't play it and nor does DH, I just heard his BiL complaining about it when we last saw him!

It's annoying - cosmetics are one thing but stuff that actively changes gameplay or makes gameplay easier or different if you pay money sucks.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:50

When he games he plays racing games only. Would that fit in these circumstances?

OP posts:
Wabola · 28/09/2021 14:52

Sounds like he is expecting to get rich soon then and pay it all off, bit similar to gambling.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:52

@WildfirePonie he is yes of course. He has bad form with money though.

Would you be annoyed if you always paid for everything, kids clothes snd everything and he is doing that?

OP posts:
SylvanasWindrunner · 28/09/2021 14:52

Yea racing games often have microtransactions for various things. DH plays a lot and is always grumbling about it. You can often buy new cars, tracks, etc.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:54

@Wabola I agree. I think it’s gambling too. He honestly believes we will be super rich and never have to work again, he got a loan for thousands not long ago to buy it.

He gets very defensive if I even mention it.

OP posts:
WeatherwaxLives · 28/09/2021 15:00

Woah! He got a loan just to buy cryptocurrency?! That's bonkers. What will he do if it crashes?

Tommika · 28/09/2021 15:00

He’s only going to ‘get rich soon’ with XRP if he bought the crypto currency at a low price and it rises from others subsequently buying it

He’s just spending on credit, gambling and dreaming of get rich quick schemes

Wabola · 28/09/2021 15:03

What he is doing, taking out loans to buy crypto in the hope to get rich is the same as gambling, I would be more worried about that than the gaming

Kuachui · 28/09/2021 15:04

Oh no :( he's not going to get rich and definitely not soon. He's going to run his family into the ground.

Investments are exactly that, they are investments and a lot of the time they flop.
It's never a get rich quick scheme :(

TakeYourFinalPosition · 28/09/2021 15:06

I would never have thought I’d say this…

But I’d stop investigating the gaming payments and start really thinking about the fact that he has a loan to buy cryptocurrency, and he genuinely thinks he’ll be “rich” soon.

Are you on the mortgage with him? Are you financially linked?

It seems he’s pissing money up the wall buying things daily because he’s just waiting for his big win…

Elieza · 28/09/2021 15:08

Your husband is an idiot.

Protect yourself and your/dc’s interests before he ends up gambling your live style away and you’re left with nothing.

If he won’t discuss this very important issue I’d leave him tbh before he remortgaged the house to buy more cryptocurrency which then leaves him in debt and homeless when it’s value crashes..

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 15:16

I do agree with all you have said.

We aren’t married, I wouldn’t for that reason, money.

The house is jointly owned, he couldn’t remortgage without me knowing could he? Nothing would surprise me with him and xrp.

I agree, he thinks he is going to be super rich very soon, how do you help someone see it’s crazy?

Wabola · 28/09/2021 15:18

He may have taken out other credit that you don't know about

IveGotASongThatllGetOnYNerves · 28/09/2021 15:20

You don't. It takes them losing everything to face facts.

You should remove all your cards and any joint cards and accounts from PayPal, set up your own account.
You need to separate your money as far as is possible and you shouldn't wait.

VanCleefArpels · 28/09/2021 15:23

Check your Apple ID hasn’t been inadvertently shared with someone else- you can check all PayPal transactions by logging in to your account.

If you are at all concerned about misuse of either PayPal or Apple then change your Passwords in both immediately and attach a different card to them and cancel the card that has been misused

VanCleefArpels · 28/09/2021 15:26

Sorry didn’t see all the updates! Do the change password/ cancel card thing anyway!

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 15:31

Thank you all.

Is there anyway I can find out about other credit cards?

It’s so disappointing. He is on a good wage, never has any money past the middle of the month. I pay for a lot of things. His bank statements come to the house so I have opened them. His current account goes over drawn by but only by about £200 a month then is pay clears it.

I am wondering if the iTunes could be used for gambling in any way?

OP posts:
FrankoTheWankoMyBoy · 28/09/2021 15:33

You could check his credit file but that means you would be applying for it without his consent.
