Hi, please could someone tell me is PayPal credit different to PayPal? Also on statement ITunes Store is on there nearly every day all different amounts. What could this be? What could you buy every day that costs between £3-£15?

Apple is listed again daily for same sort of amounts!!

What could the purchase be?

Thanks

How much is a film to buy max?

The latest big blockbusters that are in the cinema at the same time are around £17.99. Black Widow and things like that.

Wabola · 28/09/2021 13:19

I think new one are at least £13.99 as they cost that on Sky and these companies are usually quite competitive

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 13:28

@SylvanasWindrunner thank you, what do you mean different types of currency?

Thank you all, I need the phone to check I suppose. Will have to wait until later! I am not happy!!!

It’s not the kids....

I have noticed before Prime coming up for films purchased. But who on earth can do their job all day while listening to films. And who would pay £17.99 for a new film and not watch it and only listen to it!!

Free games on mobile usually prevent you from playing further/or achieving stuff in a decent timeframe unless you buy in-game currency (usually gold coins, gems, etc.) that you can use to unlock new things and progress further. It's how they make their money.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 13:34

Just seen a pattern every week. On a Monday a payment for £8.49 and a Tuesday £9.49 every single week with various amounts around that.

They could just be buying lots of films or box sets too, of course!

Gazelda · 28/09/2021 13:35

Have you asked the person who's racking up the charges?

Jumpingintosummer · 28/09/2021 13:37

It sounds like in game credits for extra turns/buying in game extras.

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 13:46

@Jumpingintosummer but what is that!!!

You are still not answering the questions of who else could possibly access your account .... either your Apple ID or the PayPal account.
Have you checked your Apple account yet? Have you turned off the link with the PayPal account yet? These should be top priorities - to stop the money continuing to be drained from your account.

MyDcAreMarvel · 28/09/2021 13:51

Check your iTunes purchases and speak to Apple live chat.

Namechangeagain2021 · 28/09/2021 13:56

If it's kids they have probably subscribed to something. You have your PayPal set as payment on the Apple ID.

As days are so regular it's almost like a DD because of subscribing.

cataline · 28/09/2021 13:56

If it's PayPal Credit, it'll not be coming out of your bank account but will be racking up interest charges- thing it's about 29% APR too.

Someone must have your PayPal linked to their AppleID and/or other online retailers.

You can call PayPal customer services and ask them. I'd suggest changing your PayPal password immediately though and if it gives you the option to 'log out of all other devices' then do that too.

You can purchase or rent a film and have a week to watch it in. You don’t have to see it when you pay.

You really need to answer the questions about access etc if you’re really looking for advice here. Otherwise we can’t help you. Stop panicking and think.

Lazypuppy · 28/09/2021 13:59

I'm gueasing its husband/partner, but OP you aren't answering peoples questions and are just writing manic sentences with lots of exclamation points.

As others have siad its either films, or in app credits for stuff, thats how apps make money

Ohsugarhoneyicetea · 28/09/2021 14:02

If you want it to stop, go and in change your payment method on apple to a credit or debit card. Then cancel or block the card (report it lost and order a new one). If they cant take a payment then the transactions wont go through. Then you can try to figure out what's happening.

I have noticed if I agree to my kids getting a subscription for something, it doesn't appear in my subscriptions if I want to cancel it, I have to go into their account, even though Im the one paying (which I think wrong but that's the way they've set it up).

Chicchicchicchiclana · 28/09/2021 14:02

Why is this urgent?

Workinghardeveryday · 28/09/2021 14:02

Sorry, thank you everyone.

The PayPal is shared with different cards on it. We buy and select our card. I never check transactions on it snd today decided to look and found a PayPal credit and the normal PayPal.

I want to get to the bottom of what it has been spent on exactly (films/games etc). My card has paid for some of it - probably by mistake but it has.

Also I had no idea about PayPal credit and the £1600 limit that only has £42 left to use!!!!

Lazypuppy · 28/09/2021 14:04

Go into your apple and prime accounts and you can what has been purchased

Fluffypastelslippers · 28/09/2021 14:06

So are you saying you have been hacked or your partner/child has been spending

FrankoTheWankoMyBoy · 28/09/2021 14:06

Hello, unless you have a pin protect where PayPal send a pin to your phone before you login, it's easy to hack an email and someone change your passwords etc. This has happened to me. Do you have an Apple account? If so you can check what each item is for on your account. In the meantime I would remove your cards from PayPal and get a block on the account. Who else in your home could access your PayPal? I'm so sorry this has happened it's not a nice thing. Hope you get it sorted Thanks

FrankoTheWankoMyBoy · 28/09/2021 14:08

Omg that's awful, someone has taken credit out in your name. You must have emails though unless they have changed your email address or deleted them in your email account.
Wabola · 28/09/2021 14:08

Is it likely to be the person at work you mentioned upthread doing this, do they have an iPhone or iPad
