Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I have been accepted by Rev I just have to woman up and get on with it.
I'm giving up peeling potatoes. I'm not sitting there for an hour with no content and end up earning three quid. I've done it for 18 months now and it's the slowest it's ever been.

Morning all. Been a hectic month. Done loads of wee bits for not a lot. Potato is a miserable £50. I've made more off Prolific this month. Loving Rev but I'm painfully slow so making about £6/hr after the exchange rate. Mind you, I'm taking low paying but clear ones. Might have to get back to higher paying ones and put some effort in!

Still better than nothing and I have training next week for a regular hours job. So that's good.

How are we all doing?

I'm still waiting for hear from Rev. Got accepted on 8th June I think but nothing since.
I have a question for anyone on Lionbridge ..... trying to get the payment process set up and it won't let me enter my address. Has anyone else had this?

@AnotherOne4 I'll have a look and see if it's still on there, I've have been working one but there is very little content on there so expecting to earn very much from it at all!

Can I ask why some of you use asterixes rather than spelling the companies' names out in full?

We're not supposed to be mentioning the projects we're working on by name. Usually when you start a new project you have to sign an NDA so talking about specific project details on a public forum goes against that. I guess using names with asterisks is ok as we can still support each other and help each other out without making it too obvious what the project is.

@swiftt would you mind PMiing me with some R* questions?

Has anyone else logged into respondent lately? I've logged in in the first time in forever, but I can't actually view anything! The dashboard where projects used to load seems to be stuck on loading no matter how long I leave it. Anyone else?

Just accepted onto R** and you'd been really helpful before so thanks. With initial short transcription, approx how long are they, roughly how long do they take to transcribe. Are you given a degree of difficulty, is there a time limit, can you reject them if you just can't do it. And finally, what kind of rate per transcription can you expect. I'm not sure how much time I can devote to it daily, I guess about an hour or 2 at most! Thanks in advance!

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good Monday.

I’ve got started on Prolific and it’s been a steady £30/40 for the last couple of months.

I’ve been accepted onto Intellizoom after finally passing the test! I’m hoping I might be able to make a similar amount as on Prolific.

Are there any other sites like Prolific/Intellizoom that I can try and by this I mean sires that are relatively straightforward to work and quick and easy to set up.

@3dogsnorth so when you first start, you’re at rookie stage so you only have access to shorter files that are Line drafts, so basically an AI draft that needs edited - sometimes, usually dependent on the accent, they’re so bad that you’re better off deleting it and starting from scratch. But if it’s a clear audio and accent, sometimes it’s just a case of a quick edit. I believe industry standard is 4:1 so 4 minutes to transcribe 1 minute of audio, but that totally depends on how quickly you can type and the file. You aren’t assigned files, you have access to all of the files available and you can preview them before you start. You can also unclaim a file within an hour if you change your mind. When you’re at rookie stage, you don’t have access to as many files but once you pass, you’ll get access to better files. Their rates aren’t the best until you make it to Plus, where you get first dibs on files and better pay rates. It might seem really crap money-wise to begin with as the easiest files to transcribe are paid the lowest rate generally, but it’s worth sticking to these to begin with even just to qualify to Revver and get some good grades behind you. The files vary in length from a minute or so to about 90 minutes, so the time you can dedicate to it is totally up to you really. But I definitely think the rates are worthwhile once you get up to Plus. I think my average is around 90 cents per audio minute, and if I can nab one well paid hour of audio a day, I can usually hit $50 a day for a couple of hours work.

I did Qmee when I was first starting out here, but gave up when I was earning more from other sites as the pay was too low and I was fed up of getting screened out after spending time giving information!
