Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

Managed to make about £60 yesterday between SD and potato peeling.

Hoping for another good day on both today, content is looking choppy on SD though!

@rhij86 Well done!

Yes hopefully it should pick up again later like it did last night.

rhij86 · 23/06/2021 09:07

does anyone know with SD if I click off the tab, will it be picked up as inactive time?

AnotherOne4 · 23/06/2021 10:03

I was up at 6 trying a bit of SD. It was very start/stop/start/stop. Hope it gets better later

rhij86 · 23/06/2021 10:05

@AnotherOne4 yes for some ungodly reason I was awake at 5 so did a little potato peeling and a little SD - both choppy sigh

Anyone done the Neev0 voice recordings via the app? I do t know why but I feel like their recent emails look like scam ones and not in their usual style and it seems to be forcing work via the app rather than logging in on desktop.

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 10:40

@ComingToGetUBarbara I've done those and didn't find anything strange. The work has shown up as being submitted under my Work History when I go to the web page and log in, so it all seems legit.

BaaBaaEmily · 23/06/2021 11:40

Hi, I'd like to join please! I've got some debt to pay off so hoping that making some extra money will help to pay it off. I've been doing Prolific for a while and earn around £20 a month from that, I've completed the test for Rev so hoping to hear back from that soon, and also signed up for Testing Time today.
I'm also trying to sell as much as I can on eBay and Facebook marketplace. Hoping I'll have made £100 by the end of this month!

Welcome to the 'gang' Grin sounds like you've made a good start! Debt payoff is my main reason for hitting this so hard again recently :)

Good luck

Thanks @Novelusername I think I'll give it a go.

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 12:20

Oh dear, @Heyha I'm not doing very well with the Way With Words tests. I got 95% and 100% on the first two, but now I'm having to do the audio transcription and I only got 40% then 45% and I've got one chance left. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, any advice? I find their advice about commas a bit vague as it says to use them sparingly - but how sparingly, exactly? It would help if they showed us an example audio script and recording first so we had some idea what is too much or too little.

user1471504821 · 23/06/2021 12:35

Has anyone else experienced a weird decline in Prolific surveys? I was making at least £15 a week for the last 2 years and I've only earnt £15 per month for the last 2 months. Have emailed them about it but no reply.

AdaShelby · 23/06/2021 12:41

@user1471504821 I think it's just dropped off a lot. I've noticed a big drop too. I think they've taken on loads and loads of people.

Redcrayons · 23/06/2021 12:42

@user1471504821 it’s the opposite for me. I’ve always got about £10 per month and it’s been crazy busy the last few weeks. I’ve done £35 this month and I’m not logged in that much.

Heyha · 23/06/2021 12:44

@Novelusername I wish I knew how I managed to scrape through the tests 😂 I think maybe the thing with the commas is if you're not sure whether to comma or use a full stop generally go for the new sentence and same with paragraphs, not too many lines in each, I think it's because the clients like to make notes on the typed up version so shorter is generally better.

It might be accuracy with hearing the speakers as well which you can't really do a lot about I guess, and be really thorough in your proof reading too.

Well worth another go at it if you've got the time and energy!

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 13:11

@Heyha There were a couple of recordings where I couldn't figure out a certain word and just guessed, but I think I could hear everything OK for the most part. I think it's something to do with my punctuation. I've read all the guidelines thoroughly, so not sure what it is. Ah well, if it's not meant to be I'll try something else.

3dogsnorth · 23/06/2021 13:14

@Novelusername I tried the Way with Words transcription test and scored a dismal 40%. Not sure if I want to try again? I couldn't see the guidelines so was working blind, eg, do we use English spelling, numbers in words? Any tips before I try again? I thought I did well in the first lot of tests but only scored 90%. It would be helpful to get feedback. Good luck if you try again.

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 13:27

@3dogsnorth in the Basic Training section it says to use British spelling, but no mention of numbers. I also wasn't sure about capitalisation for some things either. To me, the guidelines don't appear to go into as much detail as they seem to want from us, so it feels a bit unfair, but I could be just missing something.

Heyha · 23/06/2021 15:43

I'll see if I can find the training guide later as obviously don't want to say too much! But really they are just looking for you to use standard punctuation and grammar conventions for things like numbers and capitalisation. The only company-specific stuff are the templates and tags they use for certain things, as far as I can think.

whysotriggered · 23/06/2021 16:05

With regards to Prolific, make sure you keep the 'about you' section updated. I think some of the profile questions reset after a certain amount of time and hence you become ineligible for some surveys.

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 16:28

OMG @Heyha I just passed it, not sure what I did differently, perhaps I was just more relaxed and not doubting myself so much, and maybe I followed your advice to just use standard grammar. I wasn't sure how to account for pauses in speech exactly and how faithful to be to them, and also I think there was some things I was using ellipsis for instead of commas. Anyway, I still have the other test to do, so we'll see. Thanks for your help!

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 16:32

"I think there was some things " Lol, I promise I write better than this when I'm not doing two things at once.

Novelusername · 23/06/2021 16:42

I think I was also being a cocky git and whizzing through it for the first two attempts, thinking I'd pass easily and then being made to eat humble pie, whereas for my last attempt I took my time.

Heyha · 23/06/2021 16:51

Oh that's fab, well done! Is it just the proof-reading to go now then? I found that easier than the transcription test as it's less new, if you know what I mean. If/when you do get through the training is really thorough and you get personalised feedback so you have plenty of chance to ask questions and check things, I still email the team to check stuff now as there's often something random I've not seen before that will crop up with a job!

3dogsnorth · 23/06/2021 17:44

@Novelusername can I ask what you did regarding numbers. Did you type them as words or numbers? I stupidly thought I'd done quite well and only got 40%! Need to be ready if I'm to try again
