Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

Out of curiosity, what do you guys use your online earnings for?

I'm saving mine. Does anybody use it as treat/spending money, or to help with bills?

@arithanaggerton - I split mine three ways - investing, savings, and general household spending. I'm hoping my investments will create a decent passive income.

Really not getting on at all with the 2 appen tasks I have - taking far too long to be worth doing and rather demoralising tbh. BUT I will keep plugging away and signing up for other tasks. Prolific isn't offering anything today either and I have plenty of time to spend of course!. Ho hum...

I spend mine on hay when I'm not spending it on vets bills 😂 I just do a bit on the side to help fund my animals/hobbies then if I want something shiny and new I'm not dipping into my every day earnings. If I've not done enough extra work (or I've given all my money to the vet, again), I don't get the shiny new thing!

if any potato peelers are at a loose end the queues seem fairly steady at the moment.

@arithanaggerton I initially used mine to replace the pay I'd lost by reducing my hours after returning from mat leave. Any surplus was mainly for fun stuff/towards holidays. Currently using it as my main income until I look for a new job after the summer (my previous job was a fixed term contract that recently came to an end).

@rhij86 thanks for the heads up, I don't have much going on elsewhere atm so may as well get some potato in.

So this is only my second day of trying to make an extra tenner - yesterday was ok; around £15 from prolific, epic fail with an Appen task and today when I have time, I am drawing a blank. Not sure how best to spend my time really but I am hoping I will get a feel for this and find some 'rhythm' and consistency. Feeling like quite a money-making numpty!!

I pretty much gave up on potato. I haven’t logged in in ages so I’ve probably been kicked off it by now.

I thought I would be after 3 months of invoicing them for about £20 each time, when at the beginning they were so strict on how many you were expected to do. Can't believe am making more on Prolific!

@SOLINVICTUS wow I managed to log in, do about 4 then got annoyed with the fetching.

I often spend more time on logging in, checking for new info on slack, deleting email notifications, checking size of the queues etc than actually working. I log in early evening & often end up earning £1 or less as every time I look the queues are very low & if I do a few there is soon fetching.

Anyone who hasn't had a go at getting onto transcribing with Way With Words yet it might be worth seeing if they are recruiting, there's LOADS of work on there this week, normally stuff gets snapped up fairly quickly (although there's never a shortage) but there seems to be even more than usual. I can't pick up any more as I've got one I'm doing that's a really interesting topic but it's really long and not great quality so I'm doing a bit here and there as I can!

@Lolo2020 - no worries! Just made my daily target as I was about to give up :) (it's only a tenner though lol). I kept mucking up the way with words initial registration and emailed them about that so hopefully I might get another chance @Heyha. I would love to find something that felt a bit less ethereal than Prolific though I quite like it at the same time! I will have another look for stuff tomorrow but tonight I can relax :) :) Job done!! Thank you MN for this :) :)

I know it'll be a pain in the arse to explain it all so is there a particular comment/post on a previous thread I can read to get an idea of what it actually is!?

Welcome! The first 2 or 3 posts in the thread list all the sites.

App is Appen
Rev is rev transcription work (if this isn't on the original list then a quick google should bring it up :) )

Good luck! Any questions just ask, there's usually someone around who can help
