rhij86 · 01/06/2021 11:51

Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

Too many alarm bells going off with this Appen China thing, and I’ve not even read the reviews yet! Defo no from me too.

Frenchdoors1 · 17/06/2021 12:21

It is very off-putting reading the reviews.

TheLolaMontez · 17/06/2021 12:44

I didn't receive a China app email but not too bothered judging by these reactions. Might just Google out of curiosity Grin

YonderTweek · 17/06/2021 12:50

I did the China thing. I would steer clear. It was a shambles and I actually never got paid. They also sent lots of emails with loads of other workers' email addresses copied in, so their handling of personal data did not convince me. Also I read somewhere that their data privacy laws aren't great so I stopped working for them.

Frenchdoors1 · 17/06/2021 12:52

@TheLolaMontez Yes you'll be surprised lol.

@YonderTweek Scary! Shock

TheLolaMontez · 17/06/2021 12:56

Wow that sounds like something to not touch with a barge pole. Will be steering well clear of that one if they ever invite me Grin

SOLINVICTUS · 17/06/2021 13:02

@YonderTweek, I didn't get paid either!

Frenchdoors1 · 17/06/2021 13:13

@SOLINVICTUS That's well out of order isn't it.

YetAnotherRainyDay · 17/06/2021 13:30

If anyone has Uuok on their project list, it's worth doing. It's actually 4 tasks in total, three paying $15 each (only timed one but that took about 35 minutes) and one paying $30 (took about 90mins)

Frenchdoors1 · 17/06/2021 13:45

@YetAnotherRainyDay Oh thanks for the info, the thing is I don't have the 2 items that they state Smile

rhij86 · 17/06/2021 13:49

@YetAnotherRainyDay thank you! I've been accepted on, will make sure I do it!

It's really not on. I didn't even try to get my money in the end because I realised the rate was ridiculously low so it wouldn't have made much difference anyway. It's a shame though because I was doing subtitles for a quite a well known dark comedy and I loved it. Grin

SOLINVICTUS · 17/06/2021 15:14

Same here. Worked out how much it would be and wrote it off.

The T & Cs put me off that one! I will also give the China a miss I think
arithanaggerton · 17/06/2021 16:52

Ah sorry, I was quite rude and didn't introduce myself last night.

This thread has been an absolute lifesaver for me! Some months I've made 500, others 30. I'e just been saving it all and have £2k now purely from this. It's truly made a massive difference to my life and I'm surprised everybody isn't doing it. Though in a way, I won't be telling people about it. More work for us Wink.

MiddlesexGirl · 17/06/2021 18:01

Congrats @swiftt on your bonny baby!

Just started the LB work. Seems easy enough though may get dull after a while. Good steady work though it seems.

Paddybare · 17/06/2021 20:12

Fairly new here but have managed to make £55 on prolific since Tuesday thanks to this group. Have also applied to Rev.

Just a couple of questions if I may. What actually is the work that you do with Appen? Also, what is potato? I’ve googled but don’t seem to find anything obvious.

Redcrayons · 17/06/2021 20:23

Welcome @Paddybare

that’s amazing on Prolific, it’s suddenly really busy, so good time to join.

Appen is loads of different stuff. The rule is apply for everything you could feasibly do. Most of them don’t come to anything, but when they do they’re pretty good.
potato is crisp thinking. You have to take a test to get on their waiting list. It could take months and months before you hear from them. Used to be really lucrative, but currently really slow, people are making £1/2 an hour.

rhij86 · 17/06/2021 20:24

@paddybare well done on prolific!

Potato is crisp thinking - link in the initial posts.

Appen has lots of different projects to apply for - from transcriptions, voice recording for AI improvements, social media rating. All of the work is confidential so we can't go in to details but if you sign up you'll be able to apply for things that interest you!

Someone light a fire up my backside please, I need to get some hours in on SD but I'm so tired!

Can SD be done on a tablet does anyone know?

OP posts:
AnotherOne4 · 17/06/2021 20:49

@rhij86 get on and do SD. NOW!!!! (will that do?Wink)

There is talk (again) about it possibly ending soon. France have now had the email saying the job has finished. Get your butt over there and put some hours in. You'll kick yourself if it ends......

AnotherOne4 · 17/06/2021 20:55

Welcome to the newbies @arithanaggerton and @Paddybare and any others I've missed Smile

So glad to read you are doing well @arithanaggerton It's kinda mind blowing isn't it, that we can earn money online. Wish I new about this years ago!
@Paddybare you've done well on Prolific. Wish it was always like that lol.

Redcrayons · 17/06/2021 21:00

@rhij86 you owe it to all of us who didn’t get on the project, who are slogging away peeling potatoes, to get over there and get some work done. (Going for the guilt trip angle)

rhij86 · 17/06/2021 21:03

Haha @anotherone4 @redcrayons that will do nicely thank you!

Feet up, greys anatomy on, SD loaded and being worked

AnotherOne4 · 17/06/2021 21:15

@rhij86 and make sure you stay there until we say you can come off Grin
