Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

Just to add my 2p worth for those that are wondering if it's worth it. I've been doing bits and pieces since the beginning of the year.
Started with Prolific. Added Qmee and Appen.
Prolific and Qmee both very straightforward.

Appen is a different kettle of fish altogether.
Very confusing really but managed to get my head around Payoneer and signed up to not too many projects. Seemed like I was accepted onto all of them! Then sat and waited quite some while! Finally got on the FB survey one (New....n) and working that each week. Recently done two more standalone Appen projects and waiting to see if they've been passed.

In the meantime did Intellizoom test and now accepted for card sorting and think out loud so doing those as and when.
Also accepted for Lionbridge (first stage) and just had an email saying they're ready to give me some work. However I have a nasty feeling there's another huge qualification hurdle to complete before I get any paid work (that's from something I read in an earlier thread). Also just completed a Rev qualification test and waiting to hear the result of that. And slowly (very slowly) working my way through UTest Academy.

Earnings so far Prolific £20-30 p/mth. Qmee similar. Appen $28 p/mth. Intellizoom $60.

It does all seem very bewildering at the start but I'm slowly getting the hang of most of them and the monthly income is increasing.

I definitely think this (especially Appen) is a slow burner, but as you get going things slowly start to increase!

Well done on the work you've done so far! I could never get my head around user testing.

Crisp is just worthless now. It's shocking how people are willing to work for that hourly rate.

I'm waiting for a message saying I've not hit the minimum so I can say well whose fault is that? Grin Also my item rate was lower than usual this month, no clue why. I'm expecting to be booted this month and I won't miss the sheer frustration of the hanging screens.

Qmee and intellizoom aren't too bad at the moment if anyone hasn't signed up yet.

seizethecuttlefish · 14/06/2021 23:04

@AdaShelby I noticed the lower rate too. I did the 1000 to stay in but it's much lower pay than before.

whysotriggered · 14/06/2021 23:39

@AdaShelby @seizethecuttlefish I also noticed that too, something has changed and of course not in our favour.

Snowballs1 · 15/06/2021 00:39

@AdaShelby I am also amazed how many people are constantly working to keep the queues so low, although they must be waiting for items. I think some are based in countries with a lower cost of living or wages than here, so the earnings are acceptable to them. I noticed one person who seems very keen & often commenting on slack, mentioned they are in Mexico. I do tend the notice the same names working at the same times that I do, if you click you can see what how far ahead or behind their time is, which gives a clue.

I get really annoyed by the ridiculous length of some of the content in mon, would take half an hour to read some of them properly, this never used to happen until the last few months.

Snowballs1 · 15/06/2021 00:48

Whoops, please excuse the mistakes in my previous comment.

I hadn't noticed that the average rate per item had fallen, I never remember how many items I've done in a month. It may be partly due to the toy one moving into the other section, I used to find it a pain at times, but it paid more, it seemed to be 9p an item. Also a few clients in mon have had the options simplified recently, the less questions you are asked then the lower the rate for that item. For some items you only get 2p.

MrsWombat · 15/06/2021 06:42

With potato, I'm sure some of the menu trees have got longer too which means it takes longer to do an item. At the moment if it's slow, I can do it at the same time as something else. (Wish I had a double screen though!) I'm loathed to give it up at the moment, because it's always there, even if it is slow. I didn't make the minimum last month and this month isn't looking good either. Blush

SD on the other hand. Grin

Redcrayons · 15/06/2021 06:53

I hadn’t noticed the rate had gone down.
I set my target for 100 a day to get to the minimum early in the month but have struggled to even do that. It’s a couple of hours work now, which for the rate is a joke.

I’ll stick it out for this month, but applying for loads of other stuff to replace it.

jumpingforjoy · 15/06/2021 08:28

Totally agree about potato. Shockingly hard to make any money. I used to make £1000 a month pretty easily and now I don't bother with ppi at all. I'll hang around on bespoke shifts but I'm only doing the minimum as my other work pays better. When that finishes I'll be back at the mercy of them Sad

YonderTweek · 15/06/2021 09:33

Oh dear. I was just thinking how it's coming up to a year since I passed the Potato test so maybe I'll get selected soon. Not sure I want to do it now if it's so rubbish. Hmm

I also aced the SD quiz. Feeling a bit more confident again. Grin

lilmishap · 15/06/2021 17:23

@MiddlesexGirl Lionbridge has lots of different jobs on offer, some have a monumental amount of reading to pass the exam and some roles only need you to dedicate 30-45 mins to the application/exam process BUT they're brilliant.(In my opinion) I much prefer them to appen as the work is regular without the gaps between projects.
If you have a decent PC or laptop they also have a Game testing 'bit' which I adore despite not being a gamer when I signed up for it.

Winterjoy · 15/06/2021 21:56

Is SD Stherlnd on appen? I didn't complete the qualification quiz as I had a lot going on when it came through, but might give it a go if there is regular work available

rhij86 · 15/06/2021 22:14

@winterjoy yes it is :)

OP posts:
LoLo2020 · 15/06/2021 23:14

I'm so glad I pursued Appen now, I'm looking at another month (finger crossed ) of good earnings (£1150 for May and hopefully £850 is for June) Grin

LimeJellyforBrains · 16/06/2021 01:18

@Winterjoy Same here, was too busy at the time but then that work dried up. I couldn't find SD on All Projects so tonight I searched for the invitation email and managed to apply for it through the link in the email.

mrsrobin · 16/06/2021 07:35

Can anyone please help me with Appen ADAP?
There has been an ongoing project that I keep getting invited to partake in - and the emails direct me to ADAP. As far as I am aware ADAP is Appen Annotate - is this correct? Because every time I log in the Annotate to look for this job it is never there. Can anyone advise? I have already contacted them various times; I have had replies but no-one seems able to sort it out!

Redcrayons · 16/06/2021 08:13

@LimeJellyforBrains thanks for the tip, I’ve just done the same.

TheLolaMontez · 16/06/2021 08:24

Potato peeling for me this morning as App daily project is once again down 🙃

rhij86 · 16/06/2021 09:47

@TheLolaMontez I'm getting in some hours on SD then will be potato peeling too. How are you doing for the month so far?

OP posts:
TheLolaMontez · 16/06/2021 10:04

I'm about half way to minimum but I haven't been on that regularly. I think I should do the minimum this month but not much more. It's disappointing when the reward doesn't match the time you give

rhij86 · 16/06/2021 10:14

@TheLolaMontez I know exactly what you mean. The only reason I've done as many as I have are because I have it open on a second screen while doing my 'day job', and dip in to it whenever I can.

Does anyone on here have any idea how people get selected on potato for bespoke shifts?

Is it likely to be speed, accuracy or something else? No way can anyone get up any speed at the moment though. I have been working for them for a year and only 1 mistake right at the start so keep hoping I will get asked but no such luck. I do think they should let workers know what the criteria is

I asked them this a month or so ago, I was told that they didn't need any new bespoke raters at the moment, but if/when they did, the criteria and application process would be posted in the main chat. A bit bummed as that seems to be the only way to get any regular shifts.
OP posts:
0htooooodles · 16/06/2021 11:42

@rhij86 Was told the same thing, but we can see that wasn't the case as they hired 20 odd people without posting on the main chat...
