rhij86 · 01/06/2021 11:51

Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.

Im finding this all very frustrating. I have set up Appen but had no work, no info about setting up Payoneer as some on here are saying.

I set up Prolific but they said there is something wrong with my IP address so I can only use it on data. Which means I would barely make any money because i would need to pay for extra data.

I have been turned down for CW

I have just done the test for Rev so finger crossed on that. I think I did alright although I have never done transcription before so who knows? Fingers crossed!

AnotherOne4 · 13/06/2021 21:34

@Spanglebangle sounds like you’re having a cr*p start to all this.
My first question would be, are you on the correct Appen sight?
Why did CW turn you down? Maybe someone can help....

Spanglebangle · 13/06/2021 21:37

CW turned me down because I got 18 questions right and you need 19 to work for them.

Could you please post the correct Appen link so I can check.

Frenchdoors1 · 13/06/2021 21:42

@Spanglebangle Do you mean you got 18 right instead of 19 on Crisp thinking?
If so you can do that exam again as many times as it takes.

AnotherOne4 · 13/06/2021 21:45

@Spanglebangle you mean you failed the Crisp test? Take the test again, until you pass. I think I did it three times Grin
Google Appen Connect and it’s should be the first site that comes up.

Spanglebangle · 13/06/2021 21:54

Oh yes that's the one. I didn't realise I could do it again Thank you.

The Appen is the right one. I did all the sign up but can't see anything about Payonneer. I will look harder tomorrow.

I am feeling this is just not meant to be. I just wanted a bit of spending money. None of my clothes fit since having DS. Ho hum. I will persevere.

Does anyone have any suggestions of anywhere else I could try?

Thank you everyone for your input. This is such a lovely group.

AnotherOne4 · 13/06/2021 21:59

Do Crisp again and make notes, just incase you fail and need to do it again. You don’t want to keep going round in circles lol.

Preserve with Appen, it’s worth it. Any trouble, post here. Someone will help Smile

(I feel your pain about clothes not fitting. I tried on my cropped trousers earlier and I couldn’t do the button up Sad seems I’m carrying a little extra weight lol)

Tohaveandtohold · 13/06/2021 22:01

@AnotherOne4, yes the money we earn between April 6 of this year to April 5 of 2022, we fill the tax for it from April 2022

Frenchdoors1 · 13/06/2021 22:04

@Spanglebangle If you go to the 1st page of this thread there are loads of websites etc for you to have a look at and see what you fancy doing.
I can't remember the specifics of where exactly the Payoneer comes in to force with Appen but I'm sure someone will come along and answer this for you.

Baby89 · 13/06/2021 22:52

@YonderTweek. I've pm you.thanks

namechangerforthisconfessionn · 14/06/2021 09:52

@Spanglebangle have you tried prolific and Qmee? Qmee has an apple and android app you just do surveys, some are only 6p but sometimes you get ones that are £1 and the more I do the more I get. It's not a mega earner but easily gets around £3-£4 a day with minimal effort and it all adds up Smile

rhij86 · 14/06/2021 10:40

Anyone magically found a quick and well paid new project over the weekend? Worth an ask haha...

Do we think that's it for Riv, or might we get more work on the UK market as we haven't had the 'project finished' email yet? Either way I don't think we'll be far off sadly :(

I’m also having an issue with payoneer and Appen, why is it so confusing?! I have Appen connect account and a payoneer account but can’t figure out how I link them together? I can’t see anywhere on either payoneer or appen to add the details so I’m just hoping when I get my first invoice on appen there’s instructions on how to add my payoneer account.

rhij86 · 14/06/2021 11:30

@Adelais I've just had a good nose around my profile section in Appen and can't find anything that tells you how to link the two. I remember setting up payoneer and linking them at the same time that I registered for Appen.

Sorry I haven't been any help - hopefully someone else might be able to be more useful!

Just received my first A*r purchase... a massive and I mean massive can of fizzy drink

rhij86 · 14/06/2021 14:44

Crisp invoices have been issued

I'm going to have to bite the bullet and set an alarm to do some potato peeling in the night - it's getting beyond ridiculous now.

OP posts:
TheLolaMontez · 14/06/2021 15:20

Does anyone ever feel like their potato earnings are less than they expected?

rhij86 · 14/06/2021 15:22

@TheLolaMontez I keep a daily log of it and it's always matched up so far. However, whilst it's around about what's expected, it's always less than I feel I deserve given the time put in to it Grin

OP posts:
TheLolaMontez · 14/06/2021 15:26

That may well be it @rhij86 - it seems like such a slog for very little reward Sad I wish it would pick up. My app daily job has gone on strike again too. I could really do with something working!!

Saying that though, I've just managed to pay off the last of my debt that I owed my daughter 🙌🏼 not that she knew, she's only 2 and has way more money than me 😂 I had to dip into her savings in an emergency but I've repaid all of it now. Was hoping to get some nice spending and savings for me now but looks like it might be a bit slow for a while Sad

Redcrayons · 14/06/2021 15:28

Same for me. I keep a record so I know it’s right, but it’s a shocker as an hourly rate.

For those using PayPal, do you have to pay fees to PP? I’m considering switching but looks like invoicing charges a %, which I’m reluctant to pay given the effort put in.

rhij86 · 14/06/2021 15:29

@TheLolaMontez well done! I know that feeling - emergency loan from my sons savings is just one of mannnnny debts I'm trying to pay off with this.

Hopefully something more fruitful comes through for you soon!

OP posts:
rhij86 · 14/06/2021 15:31

@Redcrayons they do take some off you for paypal payment. Not entirely sure how much it is, let me check my past invoices and see if I can work it out.

OP posts:
TheLolaMontez · 14/06/2021 15:32

Thanks @rhij86 it's a nice relief. I'd just like to get my own little nest egg now for emergencies or even a holiday (one day). When I first started I remember people managing over 1K a month on potato and now I barley scrape £100 if I'm lucky! I shouldn't really complain as some money is better than none.

rhij86 · 14/06/2021 15:35

@Redcrayons looks to be about 3.5%

@TheLolaMontez this is exactly where I am!! I remember figures on potato being sooo good, and being offered shifts left right and centre in my first couple of months. No chance now Sad
I've started (very slowly) building an emergency fund - starting with a 1k goal then will increase it if (when) I clear my debts.
