Welcome to the March thread everyone.

The idea of the thread is to earn a bit of extra cash. There are a few ways to do this. I'm sure some of our regulars can add to this. But here's some ideas.

www.connect.appen.com this is a site where you can sign up for micro projects and some longer term projects.
www. crispthinking.com social media moderation
www.lionbridge.com projects
www.utest.com user testing
www.prolific.co surveys
www.intellizom.com short one off tasks
www.clickworker.com short one off tasks

I'm sure I've forgotten loads. If you want to look over previous months, there are loads of pervious threads in this section.

I think it's fine to buy alcohol! Many people had whisky last month :)

Dancingdolphins · 04/03/2021 15:56

@WizardOfAus I think alcohol is fine? People have bought whisky before.

WizardOfAus · 04/03/2021 16:09

Thanks @tinyradish @Dancingdolphins
Looks like I'm getting a case of Korean beer then!

whysotriggered · 04/03/2021 16:52

@WizardOfAus yes I have purchased both whiskey and beer

singsingbluesilver · 04/03/2021 19:32

I am building up a nice little pot on Qeeme but I am getting fed up of surveys that suddenly freeze after I have spent 15 mins plus on them!

AnotherOne4 · 04/03/2021 20:08

@allsingsingbluesilver it's so annoying when you spend time on them, and then get nowt for it!
Qmee is still playing up for me. I've not had a survey all day.

AnotherOne4 · 04/03/2021 20:37

I have a dreaded question about Payoneer. So I just received an email from Appen saying my invoice has been approved and will be processed for payment soon.
However, I totally forgot it uses Payoneer. Where on Appen can you check you account (Payoneer) is set up?
Is there anyway to link Payoneer to Paypal?

Dancingdolphins · 04/03/2021 20:48

@AnotherOne4 I think I got an email to set up payoneer but I can't remember as it was ages ago. I have mine linked to PayPal yes.

AnotherOne4 · 04/03/2021 20:57

@Dancingdolphins Thinking back, I have a vague memory of linking the accounts. I'm not 100% convinced it was for Appen though. I might just wait and see what happens.

Paddingtonthebear · 05/03/2021 08:28

Is anyone doing the C*ble task?

YonderTweek · 05/03/2021 09:14

I remember getting really livid with Qmee when I would be spending ages on a survey only to be told I don't qualify at the last minute. I always report all the CFs there, but I'm not sure it makes a difference. I do less surveys now, but I'm back on I-say as they have lots of surveys atm, and I feel like I'm constantly cashing my £5 Amazon vouchers. Grin

I may give this Pllck another go then. I thought they kicked me out due to inactivity but it's still there. I just thought the pay wasn't worth the time and effort, and the rules seemed really confusing. But it could just be me, for some reason I find transcription quite challenging despite doing lots of it in uni...

Anyway, A**r haul:
Setting spray (return)
Record
Horse/dog/cat grooming tool (think a lot of us got this)
Sexy nightdress from a super dodgy company
Art print
Expensive design wall clock for £100 (return)

I was a bit disappointed until my last one which took me to the main site of this weird artisan furniture company, and I got to choose what I wanted. That saved this round for me. Grin

RaininSummer · 05/03/2021 09:35

I did my Am** purchasing yesterday. 8 items with only 4 successful so have a photo keyring, jeans, cardigan and children's book hopefully coming. One was a Tanzanian furniture emporium which only delivered in Africa, one a 7 foot beanbag which I was quite relieved to find had a checkout issue as apart from being enormous, it was in the States so I think extra charges could have blown the budget.

I answer to a question above. My Payoneer seems linked to PayPal as it automatically transfers. Not sure how I did it though.

bookgirl1982 · 05/03/2021 11:55

An added bonus this morning as one of last months Am** items was cancelled by the seller with a £20 refund.

YonderTweek · 05/03/2021 13:19

Erm, stupid question here. Have the Pllck guidelines disappeared or am I just looking in the wrong place? I have definitely studied them when I qualified for the project, but I can't find them anywhere now. If I click on the project it only takes me to the tool. There is a support section there but it's not letting me log in, not sure if it's that? Grr.

Buster27 · 05/03/2021 14:32

@YonderTweek you have probably found them now, but if not .. help button in the tool (along the bottom bar) brings them up.

kooked · 05/03/2021 17:47

Good afternoon!
I've been lurking, gathering up a few tidbits of info and enrolling on a couple of websites.
I've joined Prolific, utest, appen, Qmee & I-say.
I had problems with my Prolific application and was worried that I'd blown it somehow, but I emailed them and they were great. I got it working this morning and immediately got a couple of jobs on there and now I have £3 pending.
Qmee is the most frustrating, but I've earned £4 in about 24hrs.
I have 70 I-say points naff all
Nothing except account verification on appen and utest, so far.

All pointers very much welcome!

Does MN automatically blot out with asterisks, or are you doing as you're typing?

YonderTweek · 05/03/2021 17:51

@Buster27 Thank you! I hadn't found them until you pointed it out. I was staring at the tool for ages and gave up eventually. Blush Naturally today was my day off when I meant to do it and I've wasted it. Haha. I'll try again this weekend if I'm still on the project.

(I could have sworn I had access to the guidelines before I had access to the tool though. Where on earth were they then?!)

felineflutter · 05/03/2021 18:22

@Foxtrotalpha do you mind me asking what you mean about constant surveillance on crisp? I never hear from them and would like feedback sometimes.

I am under constant surveillance too. I almost gave up last week but have decided to persevere until I'm given the boot. Potato are actually quite nice and forgiving tbh.

My Humanity has just shown some available shifts. Are these available to me or do I have to wait for an email and a login?

bookgirl1982 · 05/03/2021 18:32

Potato have just said on slack that a new group have been put into humanity to choose shifts if they want them.

Mudandrain · 05/03/2021 19:00

Does anyone know what the shifts pay on potato? I've just seen i can join now. But wondering if it is worth it.

ruralwanderer · 05/03/2021 19:05

Shifts are the usual PPI rate plus £2. I got added into the group allowed to book shifts today too but can't do any of the ones I was emailed. I'll start looking at shifts once both kids are in preschool (May). Until then I'll just carry on dipping in and out when I can.

Mudandrain · 05/03/2021 19:58

Thanks @ruralwanderer. Good to know. I'm the same too- can't do slots just yet but nice to know they are available to us.

Redcrayons · 05/03/2021 20:05

It’s worth joining if you’re going to be on anyway. Mostly they are £2, though they do sometimes do 30 minute slots.

rhij86 · 05/03/2021 20:22

Does anyone (probably those who have been doing potato a bit longer) know that if you've booked yourself onto a shift - say 9am on Monday - and then they have a surge running at that time - do you get both the shift bonus and the surge payment?

Usually they don't make shifts available if there is a surge on, but it looks like once you're in this 'group' you could basically do a shift at any time of day?

rhij86 · 05/03/2021 20:27

Having looked again the shifts aren't available during the day when the surges are usually on, ignore me haha
