This month's winnings appeared in my bank account this morning - although when I click on the details, it says Monday 8th February 23:59.

userxx · 06/02/2021 19:57

Great thanks, so about a week later. Will bear that in mind for the big win 😏

Millionaires find out on the 28th Feb for the next draw, 1st March for the big/medium prizes and all results in the 2nd March.

Happy to have found this thread! We have put some of our house sale proceeds into premium bonds while we wait to buy. To be honest I'm tempted to put the whole lot in.

Last month (our first one), we won £50 on £30k of bonds. We also have £190k (fornour house) in a savings account and got £7 interest for the whole month! Think I might switch it over as it will be at least 3 or 4 months before we buy anywhere and it's very exciting!

LindaEllen · 07/02/2021 11:57

I've had Premium Bonds since I was a child and have never won a penny, but I only had a small amount so statistically that's not unusual.

I've started putting money into it now that me and DP are officially 100% debt free ( :D :D :D :D ) and I have a grand total of £660 in there! To be fair I've only just started.

Plan to add to it every month, so hopefully I will be able to post on here saying I've won some prizes before long! Preferably the 1mil but you know, I'll take what I can get!

Comps83 · 07/02/2021 15:45

@OUB1974 you might as well
We have our house deposit in pbs and win between £125-175 every month

You can only put in £50k per person, but if there's two of you and you have 2 or more DC, you can get the whole lot in there - check you can withdraw those in DC name while they are still underage, I think you can, but that would be annoying if you had £50k trapped there until they were 18 and you needed it for a house purchase!

With £50k pp in PBs, you're very likely to get close to the stated payout rate of 1%, and I think the best instant access these days is 0.5% so a bit of a no brainer really. Plus you can get the money back in under a week when you need it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/02/2021 13:08

Money has to be in there for a clear month before In draw so need to be in really 3mths mins to win anything

But as interest is so bad worth a shot

Prizes are paid up to 7 working days after a draw.

Flambola · 09/02/2021 14:13

Children’s premium bonds accounts are transferred to the holders name when they are 16, not 18, so be careful with that.

Flambola · 09/02/2021 14:19

Withdrawals are 3 working days...
5 if you withdraw up to two days before the next prize draw, eg if you withdrew this month on the 26th, you will get your money on the 4th March.

ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown · 10/02/2021 19:29

Have just bought my first premium bonds (after hunting in vain for a savings account with a decent interest rate) so am excited to find this thread.

@ItsIgginningtolooklikelockdown Welcome and good luck 🤞🏻

Does anyone know how long it takes to withdraw money from PB account? We're going to do some work on our house so have 50k sat in current account but I don't need it until July, possibly later. I know we'd only be in draw for a couple of months but better than leaving it sat in account. When I do need it though is it quick & easy to withdraw? Thanks for your help.

Comps83 · 12/02/2021 09:06

@Nextxmas I think it's usually about 4 working days

collywobble · 12/02/2021 17:44

I'm going to set up my premium bonds account now but I'm a little wary putting my card details online for a large amount as there's so many scam websites being set up. How do I know the one I'm using is correct when transfering my funds?

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2021 19:25

Do a bank transfer. That what I did

Tho

Make sure you put in your holders no not the Ns&i number like I did

Thank you, I'm excited to get started on my premium bonds journey.

WeAllHaveWings · 13/02/2021 09:10
@WeAllHaveWings yes stick it in. Even a £25 win will be more interest then likely to get and no risk
That's it all in now. Got £6k in for March draw, then it goes up to £30k in from April onwards, which seems an age away!!!!

Someaddedsugar · 13/02/2021 18:08

Hope you don't mind a newbie joining! I've just started with premium bonds after receiving a small unexpected inheritance that will be used for a house deposit in a year or two.

It’s 3 working days UNLESS you withdraw at the end of the month (2 working days before the prize draw).

Open it with the min of £25 then do a bank transfer for the rest.

NS&I
11994808
08-31-15
HOLDERS NUMBER AS PAYMENT REFERENCE

It takes 3 working days to hit your PB account so don’t be alarmed if it doesn’t show straight away.

NSandi.com is the legit one.

Try transfering in just £25 first to see how it works. It is really simple to do in their site and you can buy as much and as often as you like up to £50k (min £25)
