Query

I brought some more pb online via back account

But I stupidly put my ns&i number Instead of holders number

Money has left my account but no more bonds have been brought :(

Will they work it out that bonds/money are mine and buy them

Or return money and I will do it again with the right number

Ah is it not showing as pending on the balance? How long ago was it? They’ll probably work it out but it might take a while.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2021 15:08

Last week. Yes not showing anymore on balance

I’m so used to putting ns&i number when I log on online that I did that automatically when buying them 🙄

Oh it might be worth trying to call them, although I’ve heard the waiting times to speak to them are dire!

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2021 18:30

They never answer :(

I’m not on Twitter

And no email

Only snail Mail

OP posts:
StanfordPines · 18/01/2021 19:25

How are you posting here if you don’t have an email address? You need one to sign up.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2021 21:10

No meant ns&i don’t have an email address

Or if they do I can’t find it

4 ways to contact them

They never answer calls

I don’t have Twitter

I have fb messaged them

So only snail Mail left

@Blondeshavemorefun - I did this once. The money was credited back to my account after a while (might’ve been a couple of weeks).

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2021 21:25

Thanks @OublietteBravo

Glad I’m not the only one

FWIW I set up a Twitter account with the sole purpose of contacting companies who never answer their phones! I only ever use it for direct (not public) messages, and so far have had very speedy + helpful responses over the past year from BA, Easyjet, Miele, John Lewis and Virgin Money, as well as NS&I. (Am not a Twitter pest, honestly! All legit enquiries.) Seems to be the way some companies are managing their customer service these days. Though I did have to post a form to NS&I by snail mail to resolve my query!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/01/2021 13:03

What was your query - nosey blondes

I may have to start a Twitter

ArtfulPuss · 19/01/2021 14:59

Had some paper slips for old bonds from 1970s/80s, no idea of value, and needed to cash them in. They sent an online link to the relevant form, gave me the address to post it to and were generally v. responsive. Def worth trying to contact them that way, though be prepared for the temptation to disappear down other random Twitter rabbit holes!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/01/2021 15:13

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo @ArtfulPuss

i spend enough time on here and fb lol

OP posts:
StanfordPines · 20/01/2021 17:20

I called them a few weeks ago and they answered fairly quickly.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2021 17:32

Yah. Money back in my account

Thank god !!!

It was a lot so worried

Will now again abs be ready for March draw

Always R.E.M. it’s the holder number to buy

And the ns&i no to sign in

Therealone · 27/01/2021 09:12

Just read this thread as I've put in 50,000, can't wait till March!

OMG @Blondeshavemorefun that must have been such a worry, thank goodness you've got your money back.

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2021 14:13

@Therealone. Yes I was worried

Are you there alone or the real one 😂

I can only Wish of £50k but the few I do have I do win£25 often

I've applied for a Premium Bonds account, never had them before. Just put £100 in to get the paper work sorted out. We are expecting a small inheritance in April/May and was planning to stick it in the bank for security/future education/retirement, but with such low interest rates just now I might put into PBs instead.

Does anyone know long does it takes to get your money back into your bank account if you decide to sell?

OublietteBravo · 27/01/2021 14:57

I’ve always had the money back in my account within a week of selling premium bonds (it might have been quicker than that - it certainly wasn’t any longer).

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2021 14:58

3 days lest time I cashed some in —as squint—

Blondeshavemorefun · 27/01/2021 15:36

Indeed. I didn’t win jan so hoping for something feb

If not then March as brought more this month so .........

I have £100 of bonds and have never won a thing. I want to buy more but keep the £100 separate from that new bonds, somehow. Is that possible?

I know they will all be mine and I'd be the winner but the original £100 is a syndicate win from the lottery so if that won a prize I'd need to share it with the syndicate members whereas the new bonds would be all mine.

So, is there anyway of tracking which bonds have won prizes?

I want to buy maybe £3,000 more - I have some savings and they aren't earning anything in interest so I may as well give this a go!

cariadlet · 30/01/2021 11:52

@SciFiScream When you look at your prize history on the nsi website, it gives you the number of the bonds that won. As long as you've noted down the number of your syndicate bonds, then whenever you win, you'll know whether it's your all your own money to keep or if you need to share it with the rest of the syndicate.

SciFiScream · 30/01/2021 12:36

@cariadlet thanks so much! I'll sort this out soon then.

So if I let my syndicate friends know the original bond numbers they can check for any wins too? I like to be transparent about it all.

I'm the main person in the syndicate (as in I manage all the money) and I don't want to let anyone down.
