All the links are mucked up from the last thread so I've copied and pasted an old list. Hope they are right and please ask if you want a direct link.

Well done Horehound!

Anyone got anywhere with the new N project yet?

Catatemyhomework · 22/09/2020 13:58

@margaritasbythesea, not yet. I emailed them to say I couldn't access the quiz. They messaged back and said try now basically. I still can't so have messaged again.

margaritasbythesea · 22/09/2020 14:09

Thanks Cat

There are a few new one-off projects on Appen today.

Catatemyhomework · 22/09/2020 17:09

Anyone else not able to access the A**r project on Appen when they click on the learn more tab? I don't seem to be having much joy applying for Appen projects at the moment. There always seems to be a glitch.

CornflakeHill · 22/09/2020 19:26

I'm having very little luck accessing Appen jobs like Kn'x or R'tle, why are they so complicated?? I did my first day on N* though.

MrsWombat · 23/09/2020 12:18

Today'y wacky uTest task involved going to a specific location taking some photos and filling out some details on a spreadsheet. £15 for half hour work and I managed to combine it with my usual trip to the supermarket so no parking/petrol costs. Grin

Please could someone tell me how long it takes for Appen to approve your final documents so that you can get started with work? I submitted mine (after applying for a couple of jobs) back in April, so it was over five months ago. Is this normal or am I still on a waiting list?

Horehound · 23/09/2020 12:19

Can anyone who works for Rev tell me...how long do you spend trying to work out what's being said before entering an "inaudible" tag?

I think I'm spending too long trying to work things out.

I don't get on to any utest thing. I apply but never hear back :s
TheSeedsOfADream · 23/09/2020 12:30

Well done Horehound! I failed all the transcription things despite doing it for the court service here Confused

I have been approved for A* also today but haven't had time yet to look at the wotsit.

Horehound · 23/09/2020 14:06

Ha thanks. I'm not sure how long I'll last. I got my second score back and was a 5 near perfect for formatting and 4 for content.
They said the names of people were easy to research and I should be researching.
Well I fucking did I spent ages yesterday trawling the internet and even tried a Facebook message to a company. So I wrote an email back saying I'm not disputing my score but I bloody did do some research!

😂

Horehound · 23/09/2020 17:56

Just did another! 5/5!!

Honestly maybe I should do this as a career

seizethecuttlefish · 23/09/2020 19:43

Anyone on E@@@ on A? Is there much work?

MrsWombat · 24/09/2020 10:06

Today's wacky uTest task is an hour long £30 usability study on a website. Never done one before and I hate writing reviews so I'm very scared. Grin

The best way to start getting invitiations on uTest is to go through the academy training and do some practice test cycles. This will bump your level up from unrated to rated/proven and hopefully you'll get more invites then.

I am beginning to doubt I will ever be added to the S**a tool, depite having been added to the project. What are others' experiences? I know a few of us were waiting.

lynsey91 · 24/09/2020 10:24

Do any of you doing Crisp keep a count of how many items you do?

The amount it is showing that I did yesterday is definitely wrong.

Adelais · 24/09/2020 11:05

@lynsey91 Mine is wrong as well. I did lots of work during the surges last night but it hadn’t updated on dashboard. I saw on Slack so someone else said there’s was wrong so think it’s just not updated for some reason. Hopefully it will right itself soon.

MrsWombat · 24/09/2020 11:32

@lynsey91 They do say to give it a while as sometimes it doesn't update for a couple of days. Also check the unknown column at the end as well. If you've done a lot of the old "purple" data that isn't appearing on the dashboard it will be recorded there.

YonderTweek · 24/09/2020 12:38

@margaritasbythesea I'm in the same boat. I was excited to get the email but I've been waiting to be added to the tool for weeks now...

Although K@@@ is keeping me really busy at the moment so not sure if I could do much else at the mo anyway! (Not getting any feedback on it is slightly unnerving as I'm doing so many hours now and I would be gutted if I didn't get paid. Shock)

lynsey91 · 24/09/2020 12:51

@Adelais @MrsWombat thank you both for replying.

I have just seen on slack that someone is saying theirs is wrong so, hopefully, it will sort itself out.

Buster27 · 24/09/2020 13:00

@margaritasbythesea I was accepted and then a few weeks later was removed from it because they had too many people apparently Hmm

Buster27 · 24/09/2020 13:01

@margaritasbythesea I never got added to the tool so didn't get to do any work.

margaritasbythesea · 24/09/2020 13:05

Same here Yondertweek. I think that will be coming my way too Buster. I was really excited. Sad

CornflakeHill · 24/09/2020 13:27

Anyone do any proofreading? I often do it for work but I've been offered a chance to do some proofreading for a charity and they've asked me what I charge per hour. The institute for proofreaders say £25 per hour but I don't think I could charge this as I'm not a pro!

Someone I know charges £2.50 per thousand words for fiction but this is for a subject area I don't really know and it might take me a while to read through. I was thinking £18 per hour. Any thoughts?

Azerothi · 24/09/2020 13:53

@Horehound
You have done brilliantly on Rev! I have been with them for about 5 months and I like it. As for your research question, I spend about 10 minutes researching now and then give up. To me when starting out what matters is getting a high score regardless of pay as you will get better and quicker if you build up slowly. It isn't a project for fast quick money. Keep at it, I find them good to work for even if the money is low to start with.
