@peelpeelthebanana I tried to PM but this is a feature of Mumsnet premium now :o
Hmmm how can we do this?!

Horehound · 07/08/2020 21:51

That shouldn't be a smiley face it should be a shocked face

Horehound · 07/08/2020 21:53

Oh it worked now. Must've pressed the wrong button. PM sent :)

Bochabuns · 07/08/2020 22:38

Sorry to hassle you all but with Appen, how long before I start getting level 1 tasks? I’m so keen to start but there’s never work available and I can’t level up without work Sad
On the plus side I’ve had quite a few surveys With prolific since signing up! Smile

Baby89 · 07/08/2020 22:46

Anyone doing the Neevo - entertainment-coherent? It said can be paid 80$ if complete but how many is that I’m total I worked it out to 4000 is this correct

Buster27 · 07/08/2020 23:13

@maragritasbythesea guess I'm in for a bit of a wait then, hopefully it's worth it Smile

@baby89 I've been with appen about a year so have done quite a few projects already. I can't remember how long I waited for my first project, it wasn't long but I think the first couple were one off tasks.

ScorpioSphinxInACalicoDress · 07/08/2020 23:39

Bocha- not sure what you mean about level 1 tasks with Appen but i waited for 10 months before being accepted onto any. The first I got was a long term hour a day one and I've had a few other shorter term ones and individual tasks as well. It's luck of the draw really- some people get offered things quickly, others wait for ages.

Horehound · 07/08/2020 23:43

@Baby89 oh I don't have that job but if it's paid at 0.02cent yes it will be4000. I'm doing the automotive one and I'm around 600 so I have a way to go lol

ruralwanderer · 08/08/2020 06:16

@bochabuns, I think you may be in the wrong Appen system...I'm sure someone put up a screenshot of the correct system earlier in this thread. Have you tried again using the link in the original post to sign up?

Gatekeeper · 08/08/2020 06:22

Bocha I pmed you earlier

Mrsm010918 · 08/08/2020 11:01

@Baby89 I've done that one, I got to 4100 something I think, im guessing there were a few extra going spare!

Baby89 · 08/08/2020 11:17

@Mrsm010918- that’s good I’ve only done 37 so a long long away -

ohmygiddiest · 08/08/2020 11:28

20 Cogs has been my easiest money making venture this year. You do have to invest a couple of hours of your time + about £25 to get your payout of £125+, oh my dosh is quicker but not as profitable.

If you use my links, we will both get a bonus.

Sonmi451 · 08/08/2020 11:44

@Bochabuns I'm the same. I've done a welcome task, but there's nothing else available.

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 08/08/2020 12:07

Does anyone know how it works of you're on maternity leave? Also does it impact on the tax code from your primary employer?

Super interested to jump in and try some of these!

Gatekeeper · 08/08/2020 14:20

@Sonmi451 pm'ed you

Wolfff · 08/08/2020 16:25

@MonaLisaDoesntSmile

It doesn’t affect your tax code because you are Self Employed and tax codes are PAYE. You will have to pay the tax though but you get longer to do so. 31 January after the end of the tax year for SE.

I understand you cannot get maternity pay and work at the same time, so you will need to get specialist advice.

@TheLittleRedToothbrush

Nice to see you back again! But, sorry about your job. I don't work for cloudworkers but work for somewhere very similar. I don't mind it at all, it's just like a job to me. You get de-sensitised to it I think.

WonderTweek · 08/08/2020 18:46

Whilst on the topic of tax, I remember reading about this in the previous threads but can't seem to find the info now. So we need to register as self employed if we are earning more than £1000 per year, right? When do we do this exactly? I thought I would just register for the self assessment and then do a tax return next year, but I've just spent a bit of time on the HMRC website and I'm not sure if I somehow need to register as self employed now? Can anyone tell me how they've done it please? I don't think I'll be earning huge amounts anytime soon, but I'm super conscientious with tax and want to do it all correctly. Thanks in advance!

Wolfff · 08/08/2020 19:03

@WonderTweek

You should register as soon as you know you are going to go over the £1000. You register on the HMRC website at gov.uk

Your return is due by 31 January after the end of the tax year. So anything up to 5 April 2020 is in 19/20 due (and tax paid) by 31
January 2021 and so on.

WonderTweek · 08/08/2020 19:59

@Wolfff Ahh, thanks so much! That makes sense. I found it a bit difficult to navigate the website because this type of work didn't seem to fall under anything really. Grin Thanks again!

Horehound · 08/08/2020 20:08

Since Neevo pay via PayPal and we don't get payslips how exactly do HMRC know what we earn?

DownThePlath · 08/08/2020 20:21

@Horehound
I wondered that too (although I haven't registered yet). I'm thinking that I just possibly keep screenshots of my paypal activity for each month, but i'm not entirely sure.
