It's a brand new month so have started a new thread.

I've had few emails from Neevo over the weekend offering work, however I still haven't received payment for tasks I did at the beginning of May so am giving them a wide berth. Anyone else?

I did Titc in Saturday, is it likely to go in this month's invoice? Also did Bar earlier in the month (only 30 mins of a test batch) and that's still on my invoice, anyone know if it's usually put on last minute?

@BertieBotts application tracking system. Most CVs are not read by real people and are run through the system. It doesn't recognise certain fonts, tables etc. It is basically just scanning key words. It's been ages since I applied for stuff. I always had a really funky cv but apparently this is not a good thing now.

@ifuckarses I got an email from them about it as I had queried something and they said it'll be in the next few days for next months invoice.

@MrsWombat. How are you finding I test? I've just started and had 4 test cases approved today. I'm well pleased. I'm a newbie but made so many rookie errors initially. Have you been doing it long? Any advice for a newcomer?

@3dogsnorth I think I'm still a newbie myself as I'm only rated! I just do a few test cases when they are thrown my way, and I can never find any bugs unless it's a very obvious deviation from what the test case is meant to do. I do like it but some stuff is a bit too short notice for me to do around the kids. There are a couple more experienced mumsnetters on here who can answer your questions. Can't remember their names.

I just finished my first Potato shift and don't think it went very well. Some of the things that came up did not correspond to the set questions they gave me to answer so I didn't know what to do .

Any potato experts around. I've been working on it now since last week and haven't received any sort of feedback on what I've done so far. I'm just wondering if this is normal as I'm not sure If I'm doing it right or not

@commonasmukk that sounds normal. The only feedback I got initially was if I unsured something and emailed. In my experience you don't get any coaching etc. you just get on with it. You'll get a message if anything pops up. If you're not sure on something email them or if it's an emergency (like you're worried about a poster) dm the ss. They aren't really set up like that. It's a numbers game. They massively recruit and see who sticks. If you get what I mean?

@commonasmukk Yep that's normal. No news is good news. You'll get a polite email if you do something wrong. I'm very surprised at this TBH as even Appen do weekly paid quizzes/podcasts with common mistakes on certain longterm projects so we can learn.

Thankyou feel a bit more positive that I'm doing something right. I'm definitely enjoying the work and won't be dropping of anytime soon.

Thanks for links. My Appen project just turns out to be an uploading documents one, which is not what I wanted at all! The amount of effort I have to put in for each one isn't really worth it so I think I might just not bother. Hugely frustrating!!

I have a question about Appen. How long does it usually take before you can start doing tasks? I registered over a week ago (I think), and I need to do a "qualifying" task in order to have my account fully activated. The list of available qualifying jobs is rather short, and I would only be able to do two of them. I applied for both but they're still pending after a week. Is there something I need to do or should I just wait? I'm not very patient.

Lionbridge also added me to their social media group where jobs should come up but I've heard nothing so far. Am I right in saying that it takes a while to get these things off the ground? Thanks for your advice as usual.

Appen just depends if you get selected. Can be quick or take ages. I'd apply for everything you qualify for and go from there.

How does this chocolate thing work? I've signed up and did the first survey, it's now given me another survey where it looks like I have to go out and buy these two different brands of chocolate one of which they don't sell in the local supermarket.
