Hope you’re all well and have had a fantastic month of money making in April. And of course, welcome to anyone just joining us. I’ve finally managed to hopefully put together a more comprehensive list of absolutely everything I can think of to help people maximise their earnings in these uncertain times, some are referral links where me/the user earn some sort of reward, but you are under no obligation at all to use them. As always, referral links are more than welcome

I just want to get this out of the way and say that please, I know times are really tough for so many people, and tensions are high, but please don’t take it out on others on this thread. I really want this to be a place of support, rather than people ripping into each other in frustration. People on here also aren’t being intentionally secretive or evasive about work they are doing, it’s simply a case of not wanting to risk breaching their NDA and losing income.

I joined Yougov a couple of weeks ago, got an email offering a 15 min survey for 50p so deleted it as I don't think this is worth the effort.

@527040minutes A few of the cogs have a low value reward, but they are quick to do and add up quickly. They refresh every few days, but I believe it would take a very long time to only do the high rewards. My method was to invest a couple of hours spread over a week or so and complete all the cogs as quickly as possible. I then just waited for them all to turn green and cashed out. Easiest money I have made this year!

I joined Yougov a couple of weeks ago, got an email offering a 15 min survey for 50p so deleted it as I don't think this is worth the effort.

So you see @NewHorizons2020 This is a perfect example. Personally I like YouGov so far, as it's just 15 minutes here and there and they'll eventually pay me £50 at some point in a few months time. No big deal. But @ohmygiddiest feels that it isn't worth her time, which is fine too, so it varies from person to person and just depends on what you do with your time and you'd fit it in.

NewHorizons2020 · 16/05/2020 13:59

@newmodelarmymahem18 - thats my worry, I do see the huge earnings here and wonder if this is earnings potential when doing this sort of thing for 5 + hours daily. I only have an hour, 2 at the most, daily, and a lot of the stuff Ive looked at is for really low earnings.

curdsandwhey · 16/05/2020 14:10

Yes most of the stuff on here has low earnings. I don't think many people are making a living out of it. I had assumed that most of the people here were doing this stuff to earn a little bit extra on top of whatever they usually do, to help with anything from clearing debts to buying extra things for their children.

If you only have an hour a day then I'm sure the more experienced people here could help come up with some suggestions that would work for you. Smile

Assumingisnotproductive · 16/05/2020 14:28

@Curdsandwhey you assume a lot and what works for you does not work for others. Many on here make a full time wage just because you do not does not mean it can not happen. This thread has been running for over a year. Obviously you are not going to get a full time wage faffing about with surveys. I think you have a very negative tone on this thread

curdsandwhey · 16/05/2020 14:35

Negative tone? Confused No not at all. I'm just saying what works for me and giving advice that people have asked for. This thread is called earn £10 a day and the pp asked what they could achieve in one hour a day. I do lots of different things that all add up. Not sure why that's a problem?

Assumingisnotproductive · 16/05/2020 14:43

You assume people don’t make much on here your words my lovely when many posters post their earnings for all to see. Jealousy is not a good look curds. If you could not earn a decent amount outdoors in an hour a day you can’t expect to do the same online, you also can’t expect to make good money online straight away, it does not work like that my lovely. Things take time!

curdsandwhey · 16/05/2020 14:49

@Assumingisnotproductive Jealousy?! I already have paid work and I've been doing this stuff in my spare time as an extra. I have been nothing but helpful on this thread, asked a few questions and answered a few. It was all very positive until just now, so please take your accusations elsewhere. The only person who's giving off a negative tone is you.

Assumingisnotproductive · 16/05/2020 14:54

People have worked very hard, waiting months for things to fly in their inbox and miss negativity comes along in May saying she does not think this or that. If you keep your eyes on this thread then maybe you will see the earning potential in perhaps more then a few surveys. I will dip out and return to my usual username and leave it at that.

curdsandwhey · 16/05/2020 14:59

@Assumingisnotproductive The negativity is only coming from you. Like I said I have paid work and have been doing bits of this stuff in my spare time. You are reading things into it that aren't there. The negativity is only coming from you. Give it a rest and stop making false accusations. This thread was going positively before.

Rad2016 · 16/05/2020 15:02

I've not been on here long but personally @ curdsandwhey has given me some really good advice and guidance. Am not taking sides but I see nothing wrong in the post. Its just his personal opinion and he clearly said it depends on every individual personally. I couldn't depend on this stuffs I do full time because I don't think I make enough but obviously some people do

Assumingisnotproductive · 16/05/2020 15:05

This is not the playground, their are no sides to take haha haha. Let’s get back to earning money in a productive manner. Sorry to have derailed the thread a little but I just said what many are thinking.

justtheonethen · 16/05/2020 15:09

@NewHorizons2020 if you got an appen project you could make £10 for an hour a day- mine actually takes a lot less than an hour. Crisp makes me £10 an hour. The other bits are hit and miss and like @curdsandwhey say depends if you feel it's worth it.

Tinging · 16/05/2020 15:11

@NewHorizons2020 I don't have a huge amount of time per day either, maybe 10-15 hours a week max but have managed to make a few hundred pounds a month extra by online working.

I don't bother with most survey sites as the payout is so low but I do have a YouGov account because I've been doing it about 3 years and they hardly ever send me surveys but I want the payout now! I do find they overestimate the time to take surveys but I would not do 15 minutes for 50p.

Many of the project or task based companies mentioned on here do offer decent rates of pay and you can dip in and out when you have a spare hour. This morning I managed an hour and 45 minutes on a long term project before toddler nap time ended and earned £19 which I think is pretty reasonable.
To begin with I signed up to quite a lot, tried them out and then decided which were worth my time. I've dropped anything that I don't think pays fairly.

Overall it can be slow to get going but i certainly think it's worthwhile. In my first month I earned about £60 and in the second £500 from time when I'd generally be watching TV in the evening.

curdsandwhey · 16/05/2020 15:12

@Assumingisnotproductive I'm just going to quote something from the OP:

I just want to get this out of the way and say that please, I know times are really tough for so many people, and tensions are high, but please don’t take it out on others on this thread. I really want this to be a place of support, rather than people ripping into each other in frustration.

Even if it was a wrong assumption, it still wasn't offensive. It clearly wasn't meant as an insult so you can stop with yours now, thanks.

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2020 15:45

I have found this thread very supportive since I joined in December. I don't like to see posters being unkind to each other. That's not how this thread works, or at least it didn't used to.
Anyway, I have had a really shit May so far. Be lucky if I clear £100 this month. My dad is in hospital and is really quite poorly, although not Covid 19. However, I can't visit him and I have been really stressed trying to get through to the hospital everyday to see how he is. The kids at home and 'home schooling' has taken a bit of a nose dive and I haven't been very motivated with everything that's been going on. In my experience, earnings vary massively month to month for all sorts of different reasons. I earned over £500 in March and over £800 in April, but May is looking like £100. It's all swings and roundabouts. Hopefully June will be better Smile

justtheonethen · 16/05/2020 15:51

@Catatemyhomework sorry your dad is poorly Sad

Catatemyhomework · 16/05/2020 15:58

Thanks @justtheonethen. It's been really stressful trying to see how he is and trying to speak to him. I don't live close by either so will find it really hard to make sure he's ok. Plus obviously, we're all still socially distancing. It is a difficult time to have a sick relative. Sad

MoreMoneyPlease · 16/05/2020 16:05

@Catatemyhomework It must be really hard not to be able to visit. Hope your dad recovers soon and you'll be able to see him in the not too distant future xx

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 16/05/2020 16:08

Sorry to hear that your dad is poorly @Catatemyhomework. Hope he gets better soon.

TheCanterburyWhales · 16/05/2020 16:10

Blimey that got weird.
I've been here since Otterses first gave us a shove last year and it's one of the nicest, most supportive threads on MN.

I work term time only, and as of June 10th am out of work till late September so will be putting many more hours in than I am now , for example, and I blooming hope to be making more money at it too.

I like Prolific but found with other survey sites I spent a lot of time clicking through and through and through. I never ever got Oh My Dosh to work properly. Same with the Gener8 thingy. So, for now I've left them and am concentrating on Prolific, Appen and Crisp.

When I've got more time, after 10/6, I'll have another look at all of the things other kind posters have shared with us.

Cat FlowersBrew be kind to yourself.

curdsandwhey · 16/05/2020 16:22

I know, right?

Also I should point out that the most of the surveys I've done, have been done either while lying in bed or while watching a film or something. And they only happen a couple of times a week. It's not like I'm spending my entire working week getting paid a rate of £2 per hour. I know that doesn't work for everyone but it's also not a negative tone, it just is what it is.
