Cloud workers/chat from home

Essentially paid to flirt/sexy chat, I can't claim to be too knowledgable about these two!

Fivver/upwork/guru

Paid 'to do' sites. You can offer normal services on the latter two, or do odd things like sell a video of you clipping your toenails on Fivver.

rhij86 - my completely unsubstantiated understanding was that this is simply the top 5 results - that is the first five that meet the criteria. Then stage 3 will be to pick the most relevant - that is best - from a list you are given.

Oh God, so maybe it's lucky I haven't been able to do it then! I would have wasted so much time selecting the best/most relevant.

They don't go in for clarity at all do they?! You would thing some bright spark over there could have had a lightbulb moment of putting together a simple step by step walkthrough or tutorial video for beginners. It doesn't even have to be that simple, just bloody understandable.

We're the blind leading the blind!

DarkPassenger · 11/03/2020 09:50

Select the top five results means to me the best. Top 10 - best 10, top marks - best marks.

Select the first five results would have been as clear as a bell and saved all this confusion.

rhij86 · 11/03/2020 09:50

@darkpassenger - blind leading the blind - we most certainly are!!

DarkPassenger · 11/03/2020 09:51

How are you guys seeing the next part of the project? Or have you done this before so know through experience?

tootyfruitypickle · 11/03/2020 09:53

I've managed to get all 5 done within the time, that bit is ok! The rest, well... .

rhij86 · 11/03/2020 09:56

@darkpassenger the guidelines cover all three stages, and the blurb for stage 3 starts with 'find the best 3 URLs ...'

toastytea · 11/03/2020 10:00

@darkpassenger agreed, why not just put first five! Maybe it's so that people don't put links to ads etc?!

3dogsnorth · 11/03/2020 10:03

Just done my first hour on Bane. Is it ridiculously easy or am I missing something? Just pasting the top 5 links into the boxes? Is that it? No settings to change or anything?

justtheonethen · 11/03/2020 10:05

@toastytea top 5 that aren't ads etc

AVL · 11/03/2020 10:05

For B* is the location working? Seem to be showing for where I am when I scroll down rather than what it should? Not done it before.

tootyfruitypickle · 11/03/2020 10:06

sorry to ask so much, is it a straight hour that we have to do in one go or can they see how much time (by the timer), ie I have a 20 min slot now I could do stuff, can I do that and then another 40 mins later to make an hour?

DarkPassenger · 11/03/2020 10:06

Well that just goes to show - I haven't read the guidelines past part 2 because I haven't progressed. I've literally got as far as trying the insert lat/long manually bit.

Only now I've scrolled down further do I see further instructions!
And the guidlines do state to ignore ads so that bit is actually clear. First five links, no ads. Job done. Or not as the case may be.

tootyfruitypickle · 11/03/2020 10:06

I've been doing best 5 as it said to research but will start doing top 5 then as that'll be quicker !

justtheonethen · 11/03/2020 10:07

@tootyfruitypickle yeah any you do will be logged.

tootyfruitypickle · 11/03/2020 10:08

think I've been doing ads so maybe they won't count my first hour! Only if ad is completely relevant. I didn;t read that bit, was too confused by the geo guidelines but thats actually been ok in the end

justtheonethen · 11/03/2020 10:08

@3dogsnorth yep its as easy as that.

tootyfruitypickle · 11/03/2020 10:09

thanks justtheonethen, think I've got this now (it'll probably run out now!)

justtheonethen · 11/03/2020 10:09

@tootyfruitypickle fingers crossed it doesn't Smile

DarkPassenger · 11/03/2020 10:11

Sorry if that sounded/read as sharp @rhij86, it wasn't meant to be. Just very frustrated.

Maybe if I'd been involved in part one (and I have done some intent tasks somewhere else, UHRS assessment I think, so did understand that part) I would have had a better understanding of this part 2.

justtheonethen · 11/03/2020 10:13

@DarkPassenger I think it's just confusing instructions. If the geo button is there then use it regardless of what comes up. If not then do the oat/long thing.

rhij86 · 11/03/2020 10:13

@darkpassenger I didn't take it as sharp don't worry! no offence here :) it's very wishy-washy, and the fact that there are bugs etc aren't helping peoples frustration.

@AVL - there is a known bug with the geolocation button. We have not been told to stop work.

toastytea · 11/03/2020 10:15

@justtheonethen thanks, have you done the task previously?

I read the guidelines again and doubted myself about first 5 or best 5. It really is not clear. It also seems odd that the task is continuing with loc button not working as it seems to be a pretty important part of task! Hey ho

Also I find this easier to ask qs on than chat, I find my qs just get lost!

toastytea · 11/03/2020 10:17

Just to add - I'm banging on a bit now.. I have completed other tasks using guidelines and felt pretty confident. This task has been badly managed/executed!

I'm done now. Grin

Frenchdoors1 · 11/03/2020 10:19

Are we including ads?

AVL · 11/03/2020 10:25

@rhij86 Thanks
