I'm a newbie but looking to earn some extra money. I've read through the post but a little Confused!

How does it work? Are you taxed on it? Which site have you had most success with?
I'm trying to pay off debt so the extra cash would really help!

I've been told off for not working Bane. I don't have the time. I applied months ago! They must be used to people's situations changing, surely. I just hope it doesn't put a black mark against my name for other projects.

Yep I got their rude e-mail. I haf all day free to work yesterday but no link. Then the project disappeared from my list. woken up to the repremand and finally a link e-mail. I'm not able to do any work till tonight now though so wonder if there will be any tasks left.
Strange how they say about such high volumes of work yet every time I tried the phase 1 link it was all gone.
They seem to expect us to just sit around waiting and eager and to jump to it when they say despite being wholey unreliable themselves, common theme I've noticed!

WTF with that angry email! At midnight UK time. On my first bloody day. I thought I'd be leaving that kind of shit behind!

Sort out your bloody bug and I'll happily put the hours in. FFS. I would have probably worked a good five hours last night and three this morning before having to go out of it was working.

Then look at the home work websites you are interested in, register, and follow their own procedures to start working. I'm on uTest, Neevo, Clickworker and Appen.

uTest have Academy courses your work through that explain everything.

Neevo I've found mostly straightforward audio transcribing, check audio matches text etc.

Clickworker was surveys and some check this video for.. tasks, I completed their English assessment, then I passed the author assessment, and now I've qualified for the more available UHRS jobs. The assessments in Clickworker only show up sporadically and it took a good couple of weeks for me to snag the UHRS one.

Appen I registered a few weeks ago, only got accepted this week, and now can't do my first job as they are having an issue with a bug in the works.

As long as you put the time into learning you can progress. My favourite and best earning so far is with uTest.

@ricecrispiecake the location will be showing at the bottom of the search page. Mine keeps defaulting to my own despite being blocked and their solution to try and work around it just shows location unknown so I'm getting nowhere. I've hit that give up button more times than I care to think about

I'm on stage 2 now for B* but i don't think the geolocation button is working. It just shows my location every time even though I have allowed access on my laptop....

@DarkPassenger oh yes, I see. Yeah it's just showing my own location. This is my first job and proving more difficult than anticipated

And I'd just like to clarify my favourite site above.

uTest - it is not just because it has been my best earner. The Academy is excellent, with very clear instructions every step of the way. The community is very informative, inclusive and members are really helpful. The whole site is slick and professional. The support from leaders and engineers during paid tests has been second to none with very quick responses and seemingly endless patience with newbie questions. Despite the occasional site down time things seem to get back up and running in very little time.

The whole thing has run/is run so smoothly it's been a joy to work with.

Finally got my link at 02:24, however it was worded as if it had been sent to me before. I also had the warning email before even receiving the link, really hope I'm not removed before I get chance to do some later.

Also been accepted on to M*** 2 so will try to have a look at that later too. Luckily I've got tomorrow, Friday and Monday to myself all day which is good timing!

@lilmishap Thanks, I managed to do a couple of hours this morning. Although I'm not sure if my geolocation button worked or if I'm doing it correctly.

I cannot seem to get the latitude and longitude to work though, grrrr.....

Anyone else having the same B* problem?

@Flube what is the issue you are having with the lat and long? I can walk you through how I get it to work but might have to be by pm, might get myself into trouble if I put too much info on here?

With regards to the geolocation button - it's not working, it's a bug. We received an email last night saying they are working to fix it, before they sent the snotty 'why is no-one doing any work' email. So I'm assuming they want us to continue working even though they know there is a bug... so please persevere people.

To make sure you have chrome set up to allow geolocation:
go to www.google.com
Right click on the padlock icon to the left of the website address
Make sure location is set to 'allow'. Otherwise even putting in the lat and long information won't work.

If that's set up correctly and people are still having problems, feel free to PM me.

@toastytea totally! My LO is the same, he can be perfectly chill and then as soon as I open the laptop...

@ricecrispiecake the lat/long button doesn't appear for most searches (the guidelines are misleading in that way) - for most it's just the geolocation button (which doesn't work half the time as there is a bug so the results being put in end up being local to you)

I just did a set on B*NE. Then I got an error message when I submitted. I've just sent a stroppy complaint and also complained about the rude email

I'll have another go now though as it seems to be working for some of you. But if it does that again I'm out - seem a rubbish project! Annoying as it's also my first one but I can't spend time doing something and not get paid!

The normal geolocation button doesn't work at all for me. And the lat long option is way too complicated so I'm ignorning it.

I'm being told on chat (one poster to be fair) to just carry on but I thought we didn't get paid for incorrect work? I've just done an hour or so on Neevo as I'd rather be earning pennies than nothing at all! My Asperger's also means I do not cope well at all with doing things incorrectly and it would be bad for my MH if I get a bollocking!

Started b.ne phase 2 but not sure if I'm doing it right. Seems too easy. I missed page one as wasn't at home so not sure if I'm doing it wrong or if its an easy project.
