Noticed the last thread was full so thought i'd better start a new one.

Welcome to posters old and new :-)

OP posts:
Boobahs · 23/01/2020 20:31

@Bemystarlord Ah ok, thank you. The last thing I had was that they had added me to the Labour Cloud on 15th Jan but I've heard nothing since. I wasn't sure if I was missing doing anything in particular my end so thanks for that. Gutted they don't want me now SadConfused

Tohaveandtohold · 23/01/2020 20:35

@Boobahs, I started the lionbridge job today as well. After the English test, I got an email 2 days later to do another project specific exam which was simple compared to the 160 page one. Then today got an email to start so the whole process took around 1 week.

Boobahs · 23/01/2020 20:49

@Tohaveandtohold Ok, thanks for that. I've had nothing since the English test so it looks like I'm out for that one Sad

This thread is moving so fast! @Catatemyhomework I think lots of people found that but I don't want to comment too much because of the NDA.

@lborgia I think UTest could be a good earner but there will be a learning curve. I've spent probably 10 hours on the academy challenge because I'm quite enthralled and want to learn as much as possible, but I'm floundering in quite a complicated (paid) test cycle I'm doing, so it isn't an easy starter.

Flube · 23/01/2020 21:46

I think I must have taken a different lionbridge exam to the others on lionbridge at the mo? It's for internet safety assessor. There wasn't an English test either.

Does anyone have another freetrade link, please? I keep missing them. Smile

ZetaPuppis · 23/01/2020 22:13

I’ve applied the worst Lionbridge exam, it seems. The maps analyst one. I don’t know what possessed me. I haven’t got it through to it yet but it seems to be a really tough one.

madasaboxofcats · 23/01/2020 22:17

Any other freeshare codes knocking about?

Flube · 23/01/2020 22:24

Good luck, Zeta. 🍀

Although not the same as yours, I found the 168pg guidelines for my exam really overwhelming!

I'm surprised that I've been invited to give it another shot, and was quite pleased for a second. Then it quickly dawned on me that I had no idea how badly I did last time, and what was it that I got wrong.

Tbh I'm dreading taking it all again, and don't know whether it's worth the time and the stress I'm feeling. But on the other hand, I would quite like to begin some work and am fed up waiting with Appen.

ZetaPuppis · 23/01/2020 22:30

I was thinking similar @Flube. Just want something more lucrative than I have.
The maps analyst one apparently has 200 pages. The tips I read is to read through the guidelines at least twice, take notes, watch all content and do any practice questions.

Catatemyhomework · 23/01/2020 22:34

Any matched bettors out there who haven't yet signed up to Smarkets. Use my referral code below when you sign up to Smarkets and we both get a £10 bonus! Smile

Flube · 23/01/2020 22:44

@ZetaPuppis 200pgs! Shock

It's just so much to take in. I only had 168pgs but there was also a lot of additional webpage links.

Re: reading it twice, it took me 3 days to read through all the guidelines and click all the links. Exam deadline is 7 days, so not sure I'd have chance to read it all twice, as there's also 2 parts to the exam.

My best shot, (or so I keep trying to convince myself) I have a upper hand compared to last time. I have read it all once before and taken the first part of the exam. I may have failed, but I'm trying to think of it as a practice run. Not that it's helping any! Grin

Keeping everything crossed for the both of us. 🤞

Good luck @Flube!
Fingers crossed for both of us and anyone else needing to pass exams. Hopefully it will lead us to a steady income...

Evening all. Couple of questions...
Matched Betting. I'm signed up for about 10 bookmakers but not getting many reload offers. I've checked my preferences on all of them and they're fine. Been at it 4 weeks and so far only WH have sent me anything. Is that normal? I just keep reading about all these reloads and wondering why I don't get them.
Isoftstone. Did anyone do the voice recording (hey M...) project? Have you been paid yet? I got an email confirming it was ok and a survey to complete on the 6th and I've not heard a thing.

Lougle · 24/01/2020 07:03

@Flube is there anything in the rules about referring to the guidelines? I know in Appen they actually tell you that you can look at them while you answer questions. As long as it isn't forbidden, you could have two windows up, then search the document to find the section that the question refers to.

Catatemyhomework · 24/01/2020 07:27

@seizethecuttlefish, I'm signed up to 7 and I have only had decent reload offers from WH too. I get other emails from the others but they tend to be casino offers which involve wagering and I haven't worked out what to do yet..
I haven't been paid for isoftstone MBUX either. I emailed them and they said mid January but now it's late January and still nothing.

otterses · 24/01/2020 07:47

Positive end to the week for me Grin i passed my probation period at work, which gives me a small pay rise. I didn't get the promotion, but I've been told to sit tight for a few more months and had great feedback. I've also temporarily got one day a week off as of April, so I'll have a proper chance to set up my amazon store. And start blogging. I mentioned an idea for a website last year, and I'm hoping my free day will also give me an opportunity to get that up and running.

I've also signed up to Scribie, hoping that might help top up my Crisp earnings when it's slow on there.

seizethecuttlefish · 24/01/2020 07:48

@Catatemyhomework thanks. They emailed on Monday to ask me to resend files (I had to record on my pc as the bot hated my accent) and I asked again but they're not replying.
Glad it's not just me for the reloads. Might do a couple of mug bets to see if that helps

TheMamaYo · 24/01/2020 07:51

Could someone remind me of the bank account a lot of people opened for MB please?

Catatemyhomework · 24/01/2020 08:01

@TheMamaYo, I use Monzo. I thoroughly recommend them. @seizethecuttlefish, I sent my recordings in December and I had hoped we'd have been paid by now. I think there's a weekly offer from Coral that I need to look into. I read somewhere if you bet on any match Monday to Saturday you get a £5 free bet on Sunday. Need to read up on it.

MrsPretzels · 24/01/2020 08:12

Hi all, been following the January threads for a couple of weeks now but yet to post..
I used someone's free trade link on here and received a free share worth £32 so thank you! Here's my link - please remember to top up £1 so we both get our free shares Smile
freetrade.io/freeshare?code=6WJ1HC6EPR&sender=dbRKKaax

I've finally managed to complete all the cogs on 20 cogs (just waiting on a couple of them to go from pending to confirmed) then I'll be able to cash out my £185

I've signed up for Appen and applied for a few tasks but not heard anything back. Also passed the test for crisp so will wait to hear from them too

SNISR · 24/01/2020 08:22

Missed free share code posted below again. And it's only been 7 minutes since posted. Grrrr

Tohaveandtohold · 24/01/2020 09:27

@Lougle, they actually allow you to have the guideline open. I did the 168 page one last year and passed the first 2 exams but after the last part, they told me I’ve not been successful. After reading up on it, I think it was mainly because I didn’t watch all the training materials. I didn’t know they watch the time you spend on them.
I had 2 windows open and was using the ctrl f key to find the key words which made it easier but make sure you click on all the training videos.

thewalkers · 24/01/2020 09:51

Thank you to themoneyshed.
I read your info on matched betting and finally took the plunge and signed up to profit accumulator.
£52 up for my 1st week :) not much as I started with a low bankroll but I'm very happy so far.
