£10 a day thread, January part two

I'm so happy to see the thread has been ticking along with so many new people joining us Grin

It's been a shitty couple of weeks for me. I started out the new year with an awful sore throat, and it turns out I have glandular fever, so I've been too exhausted for any serious money making.

I'm actually really enjoying Chip! It's proving to be a great way to stash all the little bits of money from profilic etc. so I can see it actually adding up to something.

This morning I've switched bank accounts (£100 for joining, then £100 if I leave unhappy in six months) and managed to reduce my life insurance policy by £9 a month, and get £85 cashback for doing so via Quidco, so I'm trying to be productive.

Hope everyone is having a good January.

I've just started matched betting and I'm about £13 up plus have £50 in free bets to use up. Can somebody give me a run-down of the differences between Profit Accumulator and OddsMonkey?

I also have a code for Gener8 if anyone wants it - I'm notching up quite a lot in potential Amazon vouchers, but I can't access them until somebody uses my code to sign up! If you do, you get 10 free tokens: refer.gener8ads.com/r/MUDctR

BertieBotts · 14/01/2020 23:05

Is there an optimum payout point for BeMyEye does anyone know? For example I know with Prolific it's £20 (or at least used to be - I can't find where I read this now - anyone know/remember why?) Or should I just payout as soon as I get anything on there?

GachaBread · 14/01/2020 23:13

@BertieBotts you can cash out minimum £5 to PayPal, and minimum £20 to your bank. This will be different I suspect as your are in Germany so check the help section in the app through settings and it will tell you

BertieBotts · 14/01/2020 23:17

Oh I don't have the app, I just use it on desktop. I have googled and I think it was to do with fees which they have now stopped doing, which means I can cash out at anything over £5 - brilliant :) I was waiting for my £20, it never takes too long to build up but nice to have it earlier.

GachaBread · 14/01/2020 23:19

@BertieBotts Also it determines what level you are on to when you can cash out. If you have just started BeMyEye and you are on level one/two let's say you make £20. You cash out then I think you can not cash out until a further 15 days. So the first time you cash out sets the timer to when you can cash out again. Every level has a perk and I am sure by the time you reach level 10 or 12 then you can cash out every 5 days. When you reach level 20 you can cash out once a day but obviously only if you have the at least the required amount to cash out with or more.

GachaBread · 14/01/2020 23:20

@BertieBotts how are you doing jobs if you do not have the app on your phone and use it through desktop?

justtheonethen · 15/01/2020 06:55

@BlackCatFan I don't know as when I set up my PayPal invoice I had a space to put the address in and I just amended that.

@ZetaPuppis how long for? Yes you should speed up. I can do £10 an hour and have been since about 2 weeks after I started. It takes a lot of practice though. Once you know the trees well you will be a lot quicker. Also two windows!

Lougle · 15/01/2020 07:08

I've done another test cycle in UTest and found 3 bugs, so I'm pleased that I'm learning it. Hopefully I'll get a paid cycle soon, but at least I'm finding it interesting.

BeMyEye doesn't have anything in my area right now, because the tasks in my area expired when I felt unwell.

Prolific never seems to have anything for me, I'm still on £2.22.

GachaBread · 15/01/2020 07:15

@Lougle their are no tasks for anyone at the moment except pet store ones and nobody can get those accepted as too hard. Keep refreshing throughout the day to see if their is any work.

Still waiting for @BertieBotts to tell me how she does this on a desktop. I am dying to know 🤣

usernamegoeshere · 15/01/2020 07:34

Aw great my Appen account seems to have unlocked now so I can apply for more than 1 project! And started the day with a cheeky £1 on prolific... it was asking about my work ethic, while I was actually sat at work... doing a survey...!

MoreMoneyPlease · 15/01/2020 07:38

@usernamegoeshere I love the surveys I do at work, makes my hourly pay a lot better Grin

Lougle · 15/01/2020 07:38

Good to know, thanks Gacha.

It's funny looking at rules on an American site. I've just read a guideline saying 'use standard English' then giving examples of our correct (UK English) as incorrect. Grin It will be painful to type words with US spellings.

otterses · 15/01/2020 08:01

Not sure if anyone is looking for a 'full time' home working gig ...

@ZetaPuppis

I'm guessing it's your first few times of doing Crisp? Honestly it's totally normal, if you've ever seen last years threads it took us all a while to speed up. Slow at this point is good, it means you're thinking, and not rushing through making errors Smile it's all a learning curve.

honeysanchezz · 15/01/2020 08:25

@ConfusedPupMama did you still need a code?

Tohaveandtohold · 15/01/2020 08:36

Here is another Freetrade code if anyone needs one.
freetrade.io/freeshare/?code=HTT17DLBDL&sender=VgmYaFG5

Still waiting to see what free share I got. What’s everyone doing with their shares?

I still need a free trade code if anyone wants to pm me one Smile

Lougle · 15/01/2020 09:03

I'm as far from Derry as you can get, otterses Grin but it would have been nice if it was 25 hours or so.

With Appen, I now have 13 'active processes', which of course means no work at all... I'm signing up for projects and they often say 'must commit 20 hours', which I would be fine with. However, if they all came through, I'd have over 100 hours work per week, which isn't doable. I presume you get to accept or decline the work nearer the time?

toastytea · 15/01/2020 09:21

@Lougle following your utest journey. I've started the academy but need to keep going. I read that it may not be fruitful until about 3 months in.

Lougle · 15/01/2020 09:26

@toastytea I don't think it's going to be a quick starter, but the team are very polite and it's interesting. I submitted one bug on Monday and two bugs at about 7pm yesterday. Two of the three have been approved and 1 just needed a slight modification.

It isn't clear when you start to get paid cycles, but I'm willing to stick with it for now.

user000000000001 · 15/01/2020 09:28

Is anyone here a ModSquad remote contractor? What is the work/pay like?

BertieBotts · 15/01/2020 09:47

Oh sorry - I got confused - I have the BeMyEye app - I don't have a Prolific App. Prolific used to have a thing about £20 being the minimum to avoid fees, so I thought you were talking about that.

Level info is helpful, thank you.

otterses · 15/01/2020 09:52

@Lougle

Ah, see I'm one of those 'apply anyway' people. You just never know.

@user000000000001 I believe we have one person on here who does! There's also a fair bit of information on glassdoor about pay rates and general working environment.

themoneyshed · 15/01/2020 10:18

@MissElizabethLinley

We cover the differences here but honestly you will find Profit Accumulator much better at 'hand holding' you through those initial months imo

I also think the tools are better as well. The amount of money you can make with their acca catcher / race matching tools is through the roof!! ;)
