Bot-watching into 2020. Hoping it's a good year for all (and the end of MLMs - Hey, a girl can dream!)

I wouldn't at all be surprised if that was the case @DoraExplorer99

I've seen posts from FM huns claiming 4 or 5 promotions in a single month which would suggest it's a possibility that frontloading by proxy is happening.

They champion the "No Starter Kits" as an incentive to joining but how the hell are you supposed to sell if you dont have anything to showcase, telling someone that Fragrance (Insert 3 numbers here) smells like Chanel No.5 is not going to go down well with potential customers.

They are also dangling a trip to the Maldives as a carrot for new recruits, the reality is only a select few will make it.

They bear all the hallmarks of another MLM where only a handful will profit, need to have a look for an income disclosure for them but given that they are a European based company and not one of the traditional Utah cults that may be trickier to find.

First promotion in FM is usually brought.

3% = 200 points which is approximately £70 or a one month supply of nutricode at £40

Most of us went 3% on day one of each month by getting one of the £40 monthly sets.

If you have a team of 4 and they all did that you would immediately hit the second promotion which is about £6 commission off your team. After that it gets pretty difficult unless there's enough people to rinse and repeat the nutricode angle.

Whilst I can't vouch for the legitimacy of whatever the author of this article is pushing themsleves, they certainly have done a detailed hatchet job on FM World.

I wonder if yawns latest post is about nurse? It's definitely a lack of confidence, nothing to do with hiding your business in a group of just you and your mum Grin

9dartfinish2nd · 03/01/2020 12:26

@hunzuncovered
It says in the article i just posted above that " In addition, be aware that in order to remain active and qualified for commissions, you need to personally purchase products that are worth 50 points each month "

Is this the case and what does 50 points equate in GBP?

givemebooks · 03/01/2020 12:30

Thank you all, I fell down the rabbit hole of exploring fm and its teams last night, trying to work out how the hell she thinks this will make her money is beyond me

Looks like she got a promotion to 6%?? But i think she made this by buy stuff for herself to set up her business??

Also I am pushed regularly to try the products (i dont) but when i even kindly asked the prices just to move along the conversation i was told i would have to sign up to be a business partner or preferred customer just to buy?? That she would be my sponsor!?

Well I quickly shut that down, but wow its like she has become a diffrent person

I am going to take all the links posted and send them to her in a kind way and hope she moves on from this

I honestly would not be sticking my nose in but my son is going away with them next year and I paid his amount and the day after fb was alight with her commission payment was in? Conveniently the amount I had just paid her for the break??

Thank you all again

hunzuncovered · 03/01/2020 12:52

@givemebooks unless it's changed FM only payout once a month and it's usually first week of the month. I hope that helps.

50 points is approximately £20 which worked out as 2 small perfumes or 2 lipsticks and a perfume.

But, FM has got the 60/40 balance so they won't pay you if you just buy your £50 and sit back if you have a team. You have to have at least 40% of sales coming via you. There's also the extra lines, you can add yourself back into your own downline 12 times when certain levels have been reached so you would have to make sure you're doing your 50 points on each line.

EL2019 · 03/01/2020 12:57

Wow hunzincovered. It’s so clear that the reps really are the customer

EL2019 · 03/01/2020 12:58

Btw. Thank you for posting. It can’t have been easy to put that out there. It’s so cruel how they target people at there most vulnerable.

EL2019 · 03/01/2020 12:58

*Their

I’m so glad you’re out of it now.

CodenameVillanelle · 03/01/2020 13:05

If anyone is interested in those fake perfumes direct them to perfume parlour. Genuine products at a reasonable price with thousands of genuine reviews online.

hunzuncovered · 03/01/2020 13:24

And to get to 6% she'd have had to have £300 plus of orders in and her commission wouldn't have been more than £20 from FM

Bare in mind the cheapest perfume for a customer is probably around £12 would you say she's had that much interaction to sell that much @givemebooks ?

Interesting thread about an MLM bot posting a photo of her long lost friend’s house on IG:

MLMsuperfan · 03/01/2020 13:49

Wow what a CF!

EL2019 · 03/01/2020 15:07

Imagine your internal monologue to think about setting that up. “Haven’t seen X in a while, her new home would be a great business as for me. How can I get her to leave the room so I can take photos?”
Either she has no conscience, did t think she’d get caught or didn’t care if she was or is squashing down hard some very uncomfortable feelings.

EL2019 · 03/01/2020 15:08

As = advert

Twentytwentyhindsight · 03/01/2020 17:14

I don't think she necessarily set it up as a photo opp...
More likely aha was following the "who have you ever known" part of MLM fieldcraft, hoping to snare an unsuspecting former acquaintance into buying her products or join her downline, under the guise of "catching up with an old friend".
When she realised the OP wasn't interested in either purchasing overpriced essential oils or taking a place under her in the pyramid, she decided to make the most of (yet another) fruitless journey and snap her wares laid out on newer furniture than her biznis could ever pay for.
I'm sure she felt quite justified in doing it and sees nothing wrong with this behaviour, probably quite proud of the initiative she showed (probably dreaming of when she'll have a downline to regale with trainings on "how to turn a disappointment into an opportunity")...
MLM fucks with your sense of what's normal/acceptable behaviour and your moral compass like that...

Twentytwentyhindsight · 03/01/2020 17:15

*she, not aha

getyourgrooveback · 03/01/2020 17:54

Oh hello thread!

I have a lovely friend who has just become obsessed with DoTerra, am waiting for her to become not-so-lovely friend any time soon Sad

On another note, has anyone else noticed a sudden influx of friends becoming internet travel agents?? I have FIVE friends who has recently started up "their own" travel consultant business. Is this some new form of mutated MLM or am I just being paranoid?

hunzuncovered · 03/01/2020 18:05

There's been a spew over to inteletravel.

A Vida leader who has clung on for years (first name a Disney mouse surname a body of water) announced yesterday he was becoming a travel agent and his cling on team member who tries to pull off successful yet no team and struggles with sales has kept the mlm umbilical cord attached and has gone with him.

It's the same company the female coaches joined and got caught prospecting everyone on their coaching email and messenger bot lists.

MontanaSkies · 03/01/2020 19:07

That "NO CONFIDENCE" post of Yawn's is pretty depressing. It could well have been Nurse or any other of her downline. Did you notice two bots have commented underneath about how their confidence has also been rock bottom and they need help too? As if this is just a normal state of affairs.

Spongebobette · 03/01/2020 19:23

Oh dear yes sounds like Nurse..... of course it’s the low confidence which is the cause of her lack of success not the other way round.....!

I see she’s posting about having her diary open and that she’s got a couple of chats booked in already YEAH RIGHT
