Bot-watching into 2020. Hoping it's a good year for all (and the end of MLMs - Hey, a girl can dream!)

@Sforsh49 yes it is. Not sure when it mutated into MLM but relatively recently. The business model can only mean the hard sell to people who’d be best off staying well away from VLCDs :(

Gotmychocolateimgood · 18/01/2020 20:36

Agreed, it is sad and scary. Quite the blueprint of mlm with the 'training course' an opportunity to prey on vulnerable people who are exhausted after a 14 hour day of brainwashing. Bastards.

BSintolerant · 18/01/2020 21:04

Here’s what HMRC has to say about directors’ loans. It will save you all a fortune in drinking chocolate and sleeping pills.

@JasperRising the guy behind that culty property training company which caused someone to kill himself over getting into debt has connections with the author of Rich Dad Poor Dad - Robert Kiyosaki - who is a promotor of MLM schemes.

BSintolerant · 18/01/2020 21:29

Here’s an article about Kiyosaki’s links with MLMs: www.lazymanandmoney.com/robert-kiyosaki-and-multi-level-marketing-exposed/

Whiterangey · 18/01/2020 21:43

So would Yawn have to pay 32.5% of the £190k in corporation tax? That's a lot of money in itself.

JasperRising · 18/01/2020 22:10

@BSintolerant thanks for the links. MLMs/property investment/coaches/lifestyle gurus/speakers&authors, it's all such a horribly murky and interlinked world when you start digging. I just work on the grounds that anything that promises me the secret to 'financial freedom' would probably lose me money.

BSintolerant · 18/01/2020 22:30

It’s horrible isn’t it? It’s grubby and murky. A lot of well-known coaches are paid a small fortune by MLMs. Bob Proctor’s another one - he’s got links with Eric Worre. How do they sleep at night knowing that they’re being paid a lot of money off the backs of people losing money and often getting themselves into debt? And then there are people who kill themselves because they’ve got into a mess because they’ve fallen for the culty BS spouted by these gurus. It’s disgusting.

I keep getting ads on YouTube by a bloke saying do you want to be a business coach?’

Any randomer can pay money and become one.

Orchardgreen · 19/01/2020 09:59

When Yawn has to put the #ThatchandTat on the market, no doubt it will be because “it’s time for another family to love it”. Not, “we’re skint”.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 19/01/2020 10:19

Or because they "want the challenge of another renovation" .

She'll claim.that they've had such a positive response to their renovation and interior decoration skills that they were encouraged to do another one. It will, of course, be a cheaper, smaller property but the excuse for that will be that they just fell in love with it regardless and they had visions of what it could be......blah blah bullshit blah....

Whiterangey · 19/01/2020 12:48

BFF went from a seven bedroom rented mansion to a bog standard 3 bed terraced house because her children wanted to be closer to town.

Yawn will have trouble selling due to her improvements.

Spongebobette · 19/01/2020 16:30

‘Improvements’ 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Spongebobette · 19/01/2020 17:04

What have I done to deserve this ad popping up in my timeline?

I was in rank makers. Cost me £12 a month and we were treated to some daily live of 'wisdom' and on Wednesdays we were told to give money away to complete strangers.

I shit you not.

Give money away to total strangers for the wealth to come back to us.

Spongebobette · 19/01/2020 18:03

Cor. Where do I find these rankmakers? I want to be near one on a Wednesday.

hunzuncovered · 19/01/2020 18:20

Look for the deflated person being stood up for a coffee meeting with an old friend in Costa @Spongebobette

Whiterangey · 19/01/2020 19:02

I'm definitely strange. I'm going to be rich on Wednesday.

Gotmychocolateimgood · 19/01/2020 19:11

@hunzuncovered my local FL bot does the pay it forward Wednesday thing. She actually believes that if she pays for someone's coffee, leaves a fiver for someone to find etc she will be rewarded via karma by riches and wealth. Complete fairy story although I do think her naivety is cute. Mainly smacks of virtue signalling though.

hunzuncovered · 19/01/2020 19:14

Can't say I ever did it. Once I gave a woman a pound for her trolley, she looked at the end of her rope dealing with toddler twins and only had notes, it just happened to be Wednesday.

It's probably why I failed!

Spongebobette · 19/01/2020 20:24

@hunzuncovered no no you certainly haven’t failed, don't give up!
I’m sure you will find that if you give me money, you’ll attract success
OR sign up for 10 quid a month and I’ll send you daily advice to help build your business

(If I can get a few hundred bots to do this I’ll be very happy)

hunzuncovered · 19/01/2020 21:01

You're right, sign me up babez. I guess I just had a wobble!

Whiterangey · 19/01/2020 21:41

That's the spirit! I'll be highlighting you in my next 'meet the team's post!
