I joined isoftstone a couple of months ago. The only jobs that have come up for UK English are the current voice recording job (which was originally due to start in early August but was postponed due to tech difficulties) and a transcription job which I applied for but the exam was impossible.

The voice job is a one off and not a long term opportunity. To be honest opportunities on there are more international and seem few and far between for UK English.

In terms of positives the pay is good for the effort involved and they did email me
about the two suitable jobs that came up since I registered.

I finally got accepted on Nile! Just the 7 months after applying Grin

seizethecuttlefish · 16/09/2019 10:25

@justtheonethen whoop whoop. There is hope!!!!

ChubRubTub · 16/09/2019 10:37

That's great justtheonethen!

That's good news, I've got a few I passed, but had written off. I thought it said something about the exam pass only lasting for 60 days.

3dogsnorth · 16/09/2019 10:48

Anyone hear on Appen working on more than one project. I'm on Truckee but waiting for a few others!

justtheonethen · 16/09/2019 11:51

@ChubRubTub I thought it said exactly the same. Very odd. Good though- hopefully that gives some hope to others waiting!

Moremoneyplease · 16/09/2019 12:07

@justtheonethen that is good news, gives me hope!

Does anyone do Street Bees? I've done quite a few 'surveys' on there and it says they've been approved but I need to do 'just a few more' before my earnings graph is unlocked. Any idea just how many more??

StudentHelp · 16/09/2019 12:14

@Moremoneyplease
I think mine unlocked at around £5, I’ve earned over £40 now

Moremoneyplease · 16/09/2019 12:25

Thank you, I'll keep plugging away at it then!

justtheonethen · 16/09/2019 13:06

Question for Nile people- while I wait for them to add me to the mobile tool can I do some on my computer? Or will I be committed to doing them all that way if I start?

Moremoneyplease · 16/09/2019 13:09

Ooh, Street Bees update: just received £1 into my paypal account! Woo hoo! (it was easy money tbf!)

SorryDidISayThatOutLoud · 16/09/2019 14:06

@justtheonethen I have been on Nile for a couple of months now and I have NEVER had any work! I think it must be loaded on at times when I am not logged on. I will be really interested to know how you get on.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 16/09/2019 14:17

Sorry, where are you looking on Nile? I have logged on at all hours of the day and i have always had work.

0hmygoodness · 16/09/2019 17:02

Justtheonethen, I have been accepted onto Nile today too Smile
Thought I would take a good look at what to do on it later on tonight.

Am also waiting on them to approve my test recordings on Softstone.

I seem to have been waiting for an age for something to accept me (waiting on Crisp for since about May!) so really pleased to finally have something to earn me some money.

Is anyone else on Clickworker and do their UHRS tasks? That's another one that has finally come through for me but seems a little sporadic as to when they have work loaded.

DontCallMeDarling · 16/09/2019 17:17

Am doing the training for transcription work on isoft, it certainly is not straightforward and not doing brilliantly on the training material but will persevere and hope the test goes better. I have no idea what pay is so hopefully won't get to end of this process only to realise it's not worth the money!

seizethecuttlefish · 16/09/2019 21:12

Is anyone doing the Lionbridge mapping task? I'm stuck and could do with some help.

OP posts:
pisspants · 16/09/2019 23:39

I also got accepted onto Nile today! Is it not automatic that we get sent batches each day then? I didnt realise the work was a bit hit and miss Sad

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 17/09/2019 07:58

Pisspants, I've been on Nile for 7 months and had work every day!

You just have to follow the instructions they give you.

whatthewhatthewhat · 17/09/2019 08:11

Grrr! Appen still owe me money from a project submitted over six weeks ago!

pisspants · 17/09/2019 09:05

@spockPaperScissorsLizardRock thanks, that is good to hear. I need to have a proper read through all the instructions. I am doing a similar project called Saluda at the moment with them which is only 2 hours per week so am hoping to do both. As I click into ads I sometimes cannot go back to my batch though which is very annoying. It seems to happen every time. Though they did still pay me last month so I guess it is not too big an issue.
I am going to reduce my time on Cambly once Nile kicks in which is great as it's less intense than chatting to a stranger and can do in front of the telly. And totally flexible hours and more pay - win, win, win.
I think I will still do a little bit of Cambly though just to keep my hand in and in case the Nile project ends.

3dogsnorth · 17/09/2019 09:26

@seizethecuttlefish I'm thinking of applying for the lionbridge mapping task but I'm already working for Appen Are you working for Appen too. I'm worried that if they found out I'd get chucked from them both. The Appen one is good and relatively long term so don't want to jeopardise it

Frenchdoors1 · 17/09/2019 10:57

Can anyone help please. On appen, the orange bar reads that I'm not yet active. How can I do a project that I've picked below if I'm not yet active?!

TheLolaMontez · 17/09/2019 12:19

Hi everyone, hope you're all doing ok.

I am making slow but steady progress so far this month, can't believe it's the 17th already. Time is just flying.

For anyone who is interested, Mecca Bingo are currently running a free spin the wheel type thing, from 12pm every day. I've been doing it every day for a few days, today I have won £10.80 from five free spins, might be worth a look as it doesn't cost you anything to take part. I don't know if you have to be an existing member though(?)

Just thought I would give it a mention Smile

BlackCatFan · 17/09/2019 13:33

@3dogsnorth How long did it take for you to hear back re Truckee? I applied for that one last week..

Wolfff · 17/09/2019 16:00

@Frenchdoors1

From what I can remember you have to received approval for one project on Appen, normally the one off survey one before you are actually activated and can apply for other projects.

@BlackCatFan

I was offered Truckee a few days after joining. I think it depends when they have vacancies for a project. Some people join and don't get a long term project for months if at all.
