A big thank you to to @reddA for compiling the list below :) and thanks to @Otterses for all the hard work, keeping these threads going.

There aren't rules, as long as you've made some extra cash. So from eBay to remote jobs to saving money by switching your house insurance provider - it all counts.

Hello everyone on the shiny new September thread!

I reached £100 on Crisp which I am happy with as I could only manage about half an hour to an hour each time I logged in. I have more or less given up on Appen - I was all excited to start Nile but everytime I go in there is never any work. I'm obviously missing the best time but goodness knows when that is.

I work three days a week in my job so if I can keep earning this extra £100 a month I will be pleased :)

Grabbygabber · 02/09/2019 15:21

How long did it take for you to get work for Crisp and how much average do you earn a month? Trying to decide if I should try their test again

pisspants · 02/09/2019 17:14

Just checking in on this thread - may September bring much ££££ good luck everyone

justtheonethen · 02/09/2019 17:45

@Doseydots crisp is risk analyst work- so assessing content posted on brand pages for anything damaging to them.

@Grabbygabber I have earned between £850 and £1000 each month with Crisp. It's well worth retaking Smile

Grabbygabber · 02/09/2019 17:50

Wow @justtheonethen thars brilliant. How many hours do you do with them? Also how long did it take for them to offer you work?
Is it a case of once they offer you it once its easy to get more work?

seizethecuttlefish · 02/09/2019 18:05

@Grabbygabber Crisp is great, from what I read. I passed my test over 6 weeks ago but haven't heard anything. I think there are a few people on here waiting. Hopefully they recruit again soon, seems to be a good earner.

@Grabbygabber I had started within a month of going on the waiting list but I think it's just luck as they seem to recruit in stages (possibly by region) and some have been waiting ages here.
I do 2-3 hours a day - I just aim for £30 a day. There is always work when you're accepted but sometimes it's slower than others.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 02/09/2019 18:54

I just failed the crisp test about 6 months ago, i might try again.
For some reason i thought it was chat room moderation.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 02/09/2019 19:04

Hi thanks for starting the new thread. I followed the August thread avidly and signed up for loads of stuff.

I'm a bit discouraged, if I'm honest, still waiting for Appen jobs to come through, was offered a couple on connect, one is atascadero which looks way too complicated for the pay and I'm not sure I've got enough data anyway, and one which is now closed to applicants from England. A couple came up on global but one involves my daughter recording 250 utterances and she's not keen! It all seems very complicated for the money.

I've signed up with some survey sites but all the prolific ones I've been offered are very small beer indeed and the few I have looked into I've not actually been eligible for.

I keep failing the Crisp test, I always seem to get 17. I'm sure it can't be that hard. Any tips?!

Lionbridge ask you not to work for anyone else, and also seem to want unfettered access to all your social media posts, which does worry me a bit from a privacy point of view. Anyone doing work for them?

I could really do with something steady that I can do for a couple of hours a day that will earn me some regular money.

I can't see that online surveys/secret shopper type stuff is really worth the hassle. And I'm simply not up to doing sexy talk online. Also I think all our internet filters would stop me doing it!

Going to keep watching the thread anyway and will persist. Thanks to those who share their ideas/experiences its really helpful.

justtheonethen · 02/09/2019 19:10

@tinkywinkyshandbag definitely try crisp again. Are you ticking absolutely everything it could be? Remember acronyms of swearing count.
Appen hate me too, I have nothing from them. Lionbridge only stop you working at Appen I think.

On that note the Lionbridge speech one seems to be happening soon, can't remember what it was but I seem to think it was ok pay so I'm hopeful that will boost September earnings.

justtheonethen · 02/09/2019 19:12

@tinkywinkyshandbag also not up for "sexy" chat. It just doesn't sit well with me at all.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 02/09/2019 19:20

i've just got 18, wish i'd seen the acronyms of swear bit before!
FML lol!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 02/09/2019 19:35

Retried it, changed a couple of things and got 20/20, yay!
Thanks for the tip @justtheonethen.

justtheonethen · 02/09/2019 19:49

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock hurrah!

reddA · 02/09/2019 20:09

Found you all ;-) Thank you for the new thread @seizethecuttlefish it's weird not having @Otterses in pink!! My goal this month is £600 now that I seem to be through the fog of re starting the Anti D's - although I am still having major insomnia due to lots happening in RL!

Here's to a productive and money making September (countdown to the C word Grin )

Grabbygabber · 02/09/2019 20:44

Ah for the love of christ, I've tried about 3 times now and still keep getting 18! Do they have an interview stage because I'm thinking I'll never get there is they seen its taken multiple times to get past the test!

justtheonethen · 02/09/2019 20:52

@Grabbygabber keep trying! No interview, just training and then a half hour trial.

justtheonethen · 02/09/2019 20:53

And they don't care how many times you take it, I don't think they even see it if you don't get 19 so just keep trying.

Grabbygabber · 02/09/2019 21:08

Thanks @justtheonethen I've tried 4 times now. First go was 16, next two were 18 so thought since I was selecting everything it could be I might be selecting too many so picked less and just now got a 17. Arghhhhh

Grabbygabber · 02/09/2019 21:10

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock help a fellow mner out. Where were you going wrong. I could be doing the same.

Potplant · 02/09/2019 21:11

I’m going to jump in here too. I’ve been trying bits and pieces for a while but not making anything decent since I gave up Matched betting.

I did a survey for Roamler today and made £2.50. Not much for the amount of work, tbh but I was the shop anyway.

I’m already on prolific and usertest. I work during the day so often miss the surveys.

I have Crisp year a go last week and for 14 but didn’t realise you can retake so will try again.

Anybody still do Pinecone? I was doing loads for them and then got dropped.

Will check out everything else, thanks.

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 02/09/2019 21:17

Grabby - the weird comment about an Aston Martin had a swearing acronym. I can't remember what else i changed but most of them had multiple answers.

Treaclebee · 02/09/2019 21:27

Does anyone know if you can do matched betting if you have a poor credit history? I'm wondering if it effects the accounts you have to set up.

tinkywinkyshandbag · 02/09/2019 21:36

Anyone do clickworker? Is it worth bothering with?

Potplant · 02/09/2019 21:56

@Treaclebee I've never read anything about people being credit checked to open an account. Though I wouldn't like to say for certain. However I did read about someone having trouble with a mortgage because their bank statement showed large sums of money going in and out to bookies, so bear that in mind.
