It’s a very good video. Smile

Everyone has to read this on Advocare.

behindmlm.com/companies/advocare-pyramid-scheme-busted-by-ftc-fined-150-million/

Found to be a pyramid scheme, $150 million fine, and banned from being an MLM.

Two top bot couples have been deal a lawsuit by the FTC, one couple has settled for a $100k fine and $4million settlement, and have had to liquidate their home.

There is nothing there that Advocare have done differently to any of the other MLM's, they could be in the process of doing that to another MLM right now.

Very pleased they went after the top bots and took everything they had 'earned' from their downline, that is fantastic news.

When you are in an MLM, your business is not your business, you can lose it all in a second.

Whiterangey · 03/10/2019 01:36

That was only released yesterday. Advocare shut down their MLM side back in May with zero warning, leaving top bots suddenly with no income.

It was glorious. Advocare didn't say what had gone on, so this is the FTC giving out their report.

I wonder who they will go for next? I don't think it will be Younique as that is on it's way out already in my opinion, Coty just got rid of it because it wasn't making them money, so it's only a matter of time. Mary Kay next would be nice, bringing down one of the most recognisable MLM's would be brilliant.

Bluewavescrashing · 03/10/2019 04:22

You're right @Whiterangey that article could have been written about any mlm. What a result! Thanks for linking.

MLMsuperfan · 03/10/2019 09:34

PhD just realised that she could serve women on such a deeper and more powerful level if she just started to listen to what the Universe was trying to say to her.

Whiterangey · 03/10/2019 11:52

This whole universe, the secret, whatever, is absolute bullshit.

I was reading an article on the murder of the Thrive distributor and her children by her husband yesterday. The murderer has written a series of letters to someone which I think are going to be published, he detailed how he killed the children, their mother, and it included her unborn child as well. It's one of the worst things I have ever read, it was horrific, absolutely horrific and I can't stop thinking about those children.

Why the hell does the universe keep giving nice things to people like PHD, and all of the bots, yet the universe decided those children had to suffer like that? It didn't, it was just pure evil that caused those children to die, and it's scamming that made those like PHD earn big money for a short time in MLM.

Just shut up about the stupid universe and using the secret to make women think it's them who have failed and not whatever dodgy MLM you are promoting.

If you haven't already read it, then don't go looking for the article, it's deeply distressing.

Moomin8 · 03/10/2019 11:57

Oh @Whiterangey - I assume you are talking about Chris Watts? Angry that man is an absolute monster. How he could kill his pregnant wife and two little daughters one after the other and then stuff them in an oil tank. Someone like that isn't capable of love.

leasedaudi · 03/10/2019 13:15

Gosh that's hideous

On a more vacuous note, who thinks drinking 1.5l in an evening is smart? Hyponatremia much?

YouokHun · 03/10/2019 13:39

I see the lovely chief of Talented Ladies Club has had some hate mail. It is semi literate bollocks and contains no cohesive argument against TLC’s critique of the Doterra “opportunity”. However, telling someone you hope they die brings me back to a recent discussion here about what bullying is!

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 03/10/2019 13:58

I remember back when Yawn and Mr Yawn decided they were going to drink a litre of aloe a day. That went quiet very quickly, presumably because they didn't have time to do anything except poo.

JackDelaney · 03/10/2019 17:00

The FTC are apparently looking into 20 or so other MLM companies...

I'm trying to find specifics about Advocare. It sounds like maybe people were buying a bunch of products as their joining fee, a bit like Valentus. This model made recruiting far more appealing to distributors than retail selling. But I really would love to learn more on the specifics.

If it's true that 20 companies are also being investigated by the FTC, then I wonder who they might be...

AntiBotics · 03/10/2019 17:50

I’m playing MLM bingo on Facebook about Utility Warehouse Hmm three reps now in one housing estate!

Whiterangey · 03/10/2019 18:48

20 companies being investigated would be the beginning of the end for MLM. I'd love laws passed here to make MLM's illegal, but if the FTC banned them that would solve the majority of the problem as most are in the US.

Obviously we would all love to see FLP get investigated, but they are actually not a big player, especially in the US. I would love to see Mary Kay go down, along with Younique, but they are doing that themselves. Young Living and Doterra would be good. All of them would be good.

I looked up the two couples who were the subject of action by the FTC who were in Advocare. Both of the women are into loving Jesus in a huge way, all about church, all the Jesus is great and it's all up to him kind of thing. Really really strong religion and using that to connect to other women.

I've read the bible and I don't remember reading about Jesus being part of an MLM, it doesn't really match up to what he was about. He healed the sick, but he didn't use aloe shite or essential oils. Scamming vulnerable women out of money is about as far away from the teachings of Jesus as you can possibly get.

Unless, the telling of Jesus feeding the 5000 was wrong. Everyone had to buy 7 loaves and 5 fishes from him, and then they could eat some, and find others to sell 7 loaves and 5 fishes to.

There is a Keren in the bible as well, who must have evolved into the Karen we all know and love today.

So the 1cc per month is to stop it being a pyramid scheme?

Well Castle bought more than that, and unless she is planning on using all those hundreds of c9's and fit 15's, she bought them to qualify for whatever. Frontloading in MLM's is against the rules, yet we all saw what we saw, and there is no way she had customers for all of those, and there is no way they were for personal use.

That is insane that people were being congratulated on how many cc's they had bought for personal use. I guess that comes under the love bombing, nothing will get your upline to like you the most more than getting more cc's.

I can't wait until FLP goes down, it would be brilliant.

Yawn is doing another C9. Every single time she does one she puts on more weight, a month after she does one she is noticeably heavier.

DownThePan · 04/10/2019 16:28

How many C9s is that so far this year? Id rather book some sessions with a Personal Trainer than waste over £100 doing the C9 every other month!

Gotmychocolateimgood · 04/10/2019 16:52

I'd rather spend it on a nice meal out or spa day!

Bleurgh. I have a FLbot I follow who is local to me, she is in Eagles team under Castle. Latest post:

CodenameVillanelle · 04/10/2019 21:06

I'm so annoyed by nurse's latest recruitment post.
She claims that if you join under her you will get mentoring from people who have already achieved what they want to achieve but this whole spiel is about nurse trying to recruit her downline which she blatantly hasn't done! So it's a massive lie! I mean I know it's ALL a massive lie but this is getting right on my nerves! If each person lies about this to recruit then surely the recruits will find this out once they are hooked - but they happily go on and lie to recruits themselves! Ugh.

StrongTeaDropOfMilkNoSugar · 04/10/2019 21:17

Any Accountancy people about? Arbonne’s latest accounts were due on Monday and still aren’t up on the companies house website. Is a bit of a delay normal, or should we start to think (hope) all’s not well in Arbotte world?

BSintolerant · 04/10/2019 23:32

Sometimes a delay in posting accounts on CH is just that. It’s not always a sign of anything sinister.

Spongebobette · 05/10/2019 08:00

@CodenameVillanelle
And Nurse needs to proof read her posts
‘Your’ instead of you’re
YouTube ‘Chanel’
There instead of their
‘Great work ethics’ (plural?)

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 05/10/2019 08:53

Any scientists on here?

I'm intrigued to know more about the eye health supplements nurse has posted about (on her business page 2 days ago).

Lots of claims being made that, quite honestly, must be bollocks!

MLMsuperfan · 05/10/2019 09:09

Nurse has a great work ethics but is still dead skint with no downline and virtually no customers. A work ethics is not enough!
