Tax credit renewals - anyone heard back?

I've been checking the HMRC app every hour day for the last three weeks but still nothing. Has anyone heard back yet? I renewed at the beginning of June.

I was on mat leave for a decent chunk of last year and so my pay was considerably less what they say it was (exactly what I had declared it would be, but there you go) so what I get currently is leaving me £200 short every month.

Really hoping I hear soon because it's miserable being skint.

No, which Im a bit surprised about as its likely to say they have overpaid us.

SpideyMom · 01/07/2019 14:32

Nope. It's been 3 weeks and I'm doing the same as you. Down a similar amount too. I have so little money to live on right now it's unreal

SpideyMom · 01/07/2019 14:34

I contacted them last week to try and hurry it up and I was told now it's taking 10 weeks. Made me feel sick

tisonlymeagain · 01/07/2019 14:37

Nope but then they told me
My renewal pack was sent on 23rd May and I didn't receive it until 26th June 🙄

The notice they sent me prior to the pack said based on their figures I owed them about £1300 but I don't believe those figures were right so am desperate to hear back from them now.

tisonlymeagain · 01/07/2019 14:40

Just checked, it's still "processing" Hmm

SpideyMom · 01/07/2019 14:42

This year the renewal process seems really really bad. The only other year where it was bad for my when I was one of the cases reviewed by concentrix and renewal wasn't completed until oct/Nov.

At the moment they are trying to say I owe them over 2000. But I don't as they are using the wrong income (higher) than I actually earn.

I really hope it updates soon

IggyAce · 01/07/2019 14:42

I completed mine online early June and heard back last week. We have been overpaid and will not receive any payments this year as they took them off the overpayment. But still owe £700 in overpayment so probably won’t get anything next year.

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 11:11

Any updates today? Mine will be 4 weeks since I renewed at the end of this week. Still praying it hurrys up as I'm desperate for the money back

Divgirl2 · 02/07/2019 11:21

Nothing for me. I've been checking almost obsessively. I renewed by phone (with the robot) but the app says it's still processing.

I wonder if the move to UC means there's less people doing TC at HMRC...

tisonlymeagain · 02/07/2019 11:24

Mine has updated today to say it's complete and "Your declarations have been processed. You should receive your award notice within two weeks"

So now waiting on the postal system to deliver.... no information in the app at all.

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 11:27

When did you renew yours? Was that confirmed through text?

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 11:32

@Divgirl2 I too am obsessing with the app. I'm annoying myself now. Maybe mine is taking longer because they have a higher income than I actually earned so that have to do adjustments. It's just annoying as I've sent them all the proof needed recorded so they have everything they need to get to finalised

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 11:34

@tisonlymeagain were you overpaid or underpaid or paid correctly in your opinion? Hasn't your app updated with new figures yet?

Sorry for the questions. I renewed mine 9th June

floraloctopus · 02/07/2019 11:35

I forgot to check mine, best look now - thanks for the reminder.

tisonlymeagain · 02/07/2019 11:40

@SpideyMom I renewed about 26th June. They said they sent out the renewal pack on 23rd May but it took that long to get to me!

They reckoned I was overpaid on the notice that came through before renewal but I changed the figures as the income they had down for me was wrong so I think I was paid correctly but there are no figures in the app. It says 'you cannot use this service, your tax credits details are not available online". Annoying!

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 11:50

@tisonlymeagain it's been the worst renewal this year. I suppose as mine isn't straight forward it will take abit longer but that doesn't help me. I've been £200 a month down now since May. It's really getting to me having to rely on my CC.
Mine is my pension contributions. I read somewhere they have to wait to hear back from the pension provider, which is annoying as I've already sent them the same thing they will need from them.
I got a provisional award sent the other day which showed they are still using the higher income figure. So I know it's got to come down. But I am finding the waiting very hard

tisonlymeagain · 02/07/2019 11:57

@SpideyMom I'm not actually due anything this year as my partner moved in in January so I had them stopped from then, but I need what they call this overpayment sorting out, it's causing me stress thinking I''ve got to pay £1300 back to them as they can't take it from future payments as I am not entitled to any!

WalksWithDinosaurs · 02/07/2019 12:09

I KNOW! they owe me a bunch of money and still haven't heard back from them, which is getting increasingly stressful as it means im skint each month - im also due a tax rebate - but have heard neither hide nor hair of that either

CupoTeap · 02/07/2019 12:15

Not even had my pack yet!

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 12:16

There are so many of us in the same boat. I've never had to struggle this much. It's makes it harder as I know I don't owe them. It's the other way around

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 12:17

@CupoTeap oh my god. And they say the deadline is end of this month. That's terrible

RRoonilWazlib · 02/07/2019 13:04

I got mine last week and have been overpaid just over £2000. Panicking about how on earth I will repay it with not much savings! The repayment phone line was really helpful and asked how much we could afford and set up a plan. I also thought it was good that you can ring the number and do one off payments too.

We sent our claim off mid june.

SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 14:01

Oh gosh. Was you expecting such an overpayment? What I am finding strange is that so many people are having these huge overpayments. It's making me worry now as I really do believe I don't owe them anything, as I have paid into a pension which they haven't accounted for currently. I really hope they don't say I have been overpaid still though

Divgirl2 · 02/07/2019 14:10

I just checked the app again and nothing. I might delete the app but I'm so skint. I'm just desperate for them to update and say it'll be sorted soon.

Have to pay nursery fees tomorrow as well, that'll be fun. After bills and nursery fees I'm currently living on about £100 a month including getting to work. It's hellish.

OP posts:
SpideyMom · 02/07/2019 14:28

June I was left with only £9 for the month. This month is not much better. So I'm relying on my credit card and my parents. It's making me feel a failure not being able to live
