Another month done folks Grin a quarter of the way through the year.

I thought we could try something different this time, the original list looks a little redundant. So I thought we could all post our top five earners from the last few months.

For me, in no particular order:

  1. Leapforce.
  2. Crisp Thinking
  3. Angelfish
  4. Quidco
  5. MobileXpression (bloody love this passive one!)

What're yours?

Morning, can I ask anyone who is working on Nile if they are getting the increased 30 ads a day? I can't get mine to give me 30, raised it as an issue and was told I'm either not refreshing enough (I am!) it I have an old version of the app (I haven't). The upshot is I have to reduce my invoice for this month Confused Anyone else has this??

Otterses · 05/04/2019 08:04

@MrsKappa same here. I've tried absolutely everything to get it to work. Really nervous about not meeting the 5 hour requirement too to be honest. I'm going to email support today evidencing that I've been refreshing hourly and have the latest app version. Hopefully they'll have a suggestion.

@withallintenseandpurposes wiki says the statement takes 10 business days to come through so not expecting it yet.

margaritasbythesea · 05/04/2019 09:34

I've just been switched to the mobile tool on Nile and am getting the same thing. In the email that told me of the switch it suggested that if you do what loads, quit the app and then go back in it might load the rest.

I found in loaded a random amount of ads, so I made up the numbers of ads rated to 30 then skipped through. It suggests in the email that this is fine although I always find them very unclear.

I then couldn't load the end task. Hey ho. I'm just going to carry on like this and email them in the meantime.

I'm happy to pm the relevant bits of the email I got if anyone wants to check my reading of it.

All the technical problems with Nile wrack my nerves!

MrsKappa · 05/04/2019 10:08

@margaritasbythesea and @Otterses thanks for your input! I just constantly get the message that I've completed for the day. I'd forgotten this will take me under the 5 hours too... I think I'll persevere and, like you evidence it and email again!! Thank you x

supercee · 05/04/2019 10:09

Hi all,

Thought I'd join in. Loads of credit card/overdraft debt to clear and I've just started with Appen on the Nile project. I got accepted pretty quickly and I'm on day 2 but not sure if I'm doing it correctly Confused

I log on via my laptop and I get 30 ads which I need to complete under an hour. From the user guide it says to wait an hour then to complete the bake-off section which takes only a few minutes. I have to do this a minimum of 5 days a week. I am taking a picture of the last ad but do you have to submit evidence when invoicing? Do they know when you start and finish?

The first day it took me the whole hour but day 2 took me 50 mins, and I'm not sure if my comments are good or not?

When invoicing, do you do a line a day? I'm assuming I need to submit my invoice for the whole month on the 1st May?

Sorry for all the questions! Knowing my luck I'll do it daily and it'll be wrong!

WithAllIntenseAndPurposes · 05/04/2019 12:20

How long until you heard back from Appen? I applied a couple of days ago

supercee · 05/04/2019 12:27

I can't remember exactly but it was really quick, like a few weeks. I'd guess about a month, maybe slightly more from applying, signing and sending the emails back then email to say accepted on the Nile project on the 28th March.

MrsKappa · 05/04/2019 12:49

Hi @supercee, your assumptions about nile are all correct. You don't have to submit evidence unless they query your invoice so just hold on to the screenshots until it's paid. Yes one line on your invoice per day. I don't think they know when you start and finish as I log in and out during the day- as do others I think. After a couple of weeks they start sending audits of your work where they randomly select 5 or 6 adverts and assess what you've said and give you info on how to improve things. It's quite useful. And yes I think you have to submit invoices on the 1st of the month (make sure you use their time zone). No doubt @Otterses will correct me if I'm wrong on any of this - she's the expert Smile

supercee · 05/04/2019 13:48

Great, thanks @MrsKappa. Sounds like hopefully I'll have a bit more money next month then (if I manage to keep it up!). I think it said if you take more than the hour it lapses?

Frenchdoors1 · 05/04/2019 14:41

Thanks to PineapplePatty for the link to 'Good Rebels' do we just scroll to the bottom of that page and put our email address in?

PineapplePatty · 05/04/2019 15:15

@Frenchdoors1 I would email them and ask if they have any new research projects and if so sign up.

bodgersmash · 05/04/2019 15:28

After not much success with the few things I've tried so far, I have got a mystery shopper assignment to do after work today Smile

£9 via retail maxim, woohoo!

Frenchdoors1 · 05/04/2019 15:36

Thanks @ PineapplePatty

I will email them.

PineapplePatty · 05/04/2019 16:42

Liveminds are pretty good too as an online market research company.

Otterses · 05/04/2019 18:49

Appen are offering a £31-ish voice recording task. 1.5 hours of work, reading sample phrases into an app Grin nice and easy. Going to do this tonight or tomorrow.

I've been rather slack this week Blush I've hopefully got some new sites to recommend, but I want to check they're all above board first. Going to throw myself into tomorrow. Had a not so pleasant trip to the gynea and need the distraction. Hope everyone is ticking over okay!

Thanks for the 'Livemind' recommendation PattyPineapple

Hope you're ok Otterses
The new sites sound interesting.

Well done everyone on here who's given great info and advice.

evaperonspoodle · 06/04/2019 09:44

bodgersmash how did you get on with the mystery shopper task? I signed up for that but I'm slightly concerned about the report writing at the end? Do they give you a structure or is it literally just a blank document?

Frenchdoors1 · 06/04/2019 09:59

@PattyPineapple
Please can you post a link for 'Liveminds' if you can.
Not sure which one I'm looking for when I Google.

PineapplePatty · 06/04/2019 10:07

Frenchdoors1 · 06/04/2019 13:27

Ooooh, thank you PineapplePatty for posting those links, going to have a look at them all now.
