MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

Then went crawling back when he discovered his new squeeze was poaching his downline...

Twentytwentyhindsight · 24/01/2019 16:41

Class personified.

ToowhitToowhoo · 24/01/2019 18:26

I just went to check on Broke, and I can't find him....... Has he changed names, or is he in FB jail again??

SSDGM · 24/01/2019 18:43

Yep, looks like he’s gone! He did say he was making his account private again 🤷🏻‍♀️

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 24/01/2019 19:00

Maybe his ex was sick of being called a 'twunt' on a public forum.

Hunbot · 24/01/2019 19:02

Saw a good post on sounds like MLM but OK. Someone who was admin on a selling site asked who had their own business and what did they sell. Got a load of responses from bots and blocked the lot of them in a pre emptive strike. Harsh but justified I feel

Spongebobette · 24/01/2019 20:20

Nice move

Broke also mentioned smoking cannabis on his profile, just before he mentioned about the kids and the solicitor.

He is not a smart man.

I haven’t been on any of these before and haven’t RTFT, but thought I’d post about a podcast I listened to that you might find interesting. It digs into MLMs and how they came to be so widespread. It’s really interesting. It’s called “the dream” and can be found on any podcast app.

Looks like Broke is back. He managed to keep his settings on private for all of 12 hours...

9dartfinish2nd · 25/01/2019 09:52

@DoraExplorer99 She will have been given all the classic rhetoric about how success is just around the corner, that you only fail when you quit etc.....it's vile, manipulative tactics intended to keep the victim involved for as long as possible until the penny finally drops or the money runs out, whichever comes first.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 25/01/2019 16:48

Yes, my OH's FB page was crammed with memes like this one...

BSintolerant · 25/01/2019 23:48

There's a grain of truth in one of those memes which bots seem to ignore when they're hopping from one MLM scheme to another and another and another (all of which are even more amaaayyyyzzzing than the last): "If you do what you've always done you'll always get what you've always got."

While I'm here, can we add the term "super excited" to the revised edition of the Botshite Thesaurus?

Whiterangey · 26/01/2019 09:33

Yawn has bought herself flowers again and is making out they are from someone who is grateful to her.

ReformedBot1 · 26/01/2019 19:56

The whole thing of Yawn posting that she has 20 customers is another TACTIC! It is taught by Bloodsucker. The idea is you convince people that you only need to find 20 customers to have a successful business.

The flaws to this:
A) most people will buy once and not again
B) it will take around 1000-2000 gusto are to find 20 regulars.
C) if the regulars are buying lipbalms or toothgel, you will need much more than 20 regulars!

Also we were STRONGLY encouraged not to advertise on selling sites as it 'cheapened the brand' so surprised Uber is! An even bigger no-no was to advertise in ones that were not local to you.

Spongebobette · 26/01/2019 20:25

Ahem

Boasting publicly about sponsoring children in Africa. Please stop. It's just such poor taste.

Any info on Darcey’s Candles?

My cousin has joined up and seems to be doing all the bot things. If it is a mlm, hoping she will listen to reason.

YouokHun · 26/01/2019 21:42

I’ve noticed on Darcy’s Candles recruitment posts that they ask for people to be over 16. When I challenged this various Huns insisted it was fine to be recruited because they ‘don’t sign anything’. They went mlm about 18 months ago I think. Before that they were just a regular business. The owner is very pleased with the new set up - she’s coining it in.

spanfan · 26/01/2019 23:14

@sponge I absolutely agree. Just vulgar. She is a narcissist, so to be expected I suppose!!!
