MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

On her Facebook page there is a post she is tagged in by castle. Castle is congratulating her on how well her forever business is going and mentions that she is now selling her traditional business.

So it looks like she is going to sell the doll business, or more likely the business is about to go into insolvency and she will say she had sold it.

Tupperwarelid · 21/01/2019 23:00

I didn’t think she got a chairman’s bonus last year? She’s been flogging the new masks and some night cream gel stuff to death on her instagram stories, she really is her own best customer.

Whiterangey · 21/01/2019 23:21

You are right she didn't.

Article today in the Washington Post about the underhand tactics and negative effects of MLMs

Uber is talking about all her customers, noticed other bots talking more about customers. Wondering if this is instructions from in high because of the upcoming documentary.

Trying to make out it is all about the customers and not just about signing up new bots.

9dartfinish2nd · 22/01/2019 13:06

The comments section under that Washington Post article are very encouraging, not too many huns trying to defend the industry either.

I see tropic are having some sort of gala celebration in SA. A friend of mine is out there now. Luckily she does not try to pressure anyone to sign up, or at least I’ve not seen any of that, but it reeked of mlm as soon as she joined and spread the word. I also wonder what they are getting out of it and how much time they devote to it as she had a professional graduate job which I’m not sure if she’s gone back to since maternity or wether she now does this full time, I can’t help think what a waste of uni degree if she has taken this up full time.

Whiterangey · 22/01/2019 18:08

Yawn has got a new car for the dogs. I'm wondering if one of their expensive cars will suddenly disappear. They were led a year ago, I'm wondering if there is something in the lease of the cards which means they can't be returned before a year without a massive penalty. Does anyone know?

I looked earlier and I think it's exactly a year to the day that one of then got a new car.

Bungalowbeth · 22/01/2019 19:14

I subscribed to Roomie’s mailing list. She’s emailing out her “mentor” services at the bargain price of £100 an hour.

Spongebobette · 22/01/2019 20:04

HOW MUCH???

Is it just me who is about Hmm about health MLM bots going on about the great results they get from their companies diet programme or whatever (generally accompanied by a photo in a skimpy outfits) when they were already thin and toned before starting?

And when you are doing healthy eating and lots of exercise, it is not the supplements causing weight loss!

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 22/01/2019 20:44

£100 per hour?! Shock She's having a fecking laugh!

Maybe you should email her back and ask what her relevant qualifications and experience are

Spongebobette · 22/01/2019 20:54

Yes please ask for her professional qualifications

Biohacker "friend" recently posted on their page: "ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY STOP TALKING TO YOU. Don't freak out. Sometimes LIFE "cuts out" an infection to keep it from spreading." They have also been posting photos of people claiming that biohacking has made their hair thicker and them look younger. I'll admit the hair looks different (probably helped by going from a straight hairstyle to a wavy one), but they certainly don't look younger. Some of them look older...

Spongebobette · 22/01/2019 21:29

So friends that you’ve pissed off with your relentless MLM spamming are an INFECTION??

OP posts:
Jasmin82 · 22/01/2019 23:14

Seems that way. I was pretty amazed at that status.

Mojito8654 · 22/01/2019 23:23

We have an estate selling page. I've deterred a Younique rep after publicly stating I would rather die than become a Y sister.T
The other brobot, attempted NuSkin

Orchardgreen · 23/01/2019 07:38

Yawn is unspeakable. Blabbing about her deaf recruits.
Poor women, they are so hopeful.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 23/01/2019 08:26

How can Roomie be charging £100 per hour for something she can't even spell - "resilence" mentoring Hmm

SSDGM · 23/01/2019 08:43

Broke is helping the masses to better health and wealth. While being essentially homeless. So that’s nice.

jadeyfly · 23/01/2019 12:09

Yawns being recognized on stage according to her latest post. She got an email saying she's in the top 30 FBOs in 2018

JasperRising · 23/01/2019 12:21

So you can be in the top 30 in an MLM when you didn't get the annual bonus last year (not going to speculate on this year) - kinda proves how few people are truly successful in MLM...

Whiterangey · 23/01/2019 12:21

No mention of any of her team who she has coached to the same level. She does say it's all down to her team which is correct, they go broke so she can be on stage.

She is now going broke as well though so there's that.

jadeyfly · 23/01/2019 12:39

Can't even tell if the email she received is officially from head office though, or is that just the cynic in me

9dartfinish2nd · 23/01/2019 12:40

It's pretty indicitave that FLP are in the midst of a significant downturn in the numbers of people joining the ranks.

Doubt the upcoming BBC documentary will do much for future recruitment levels either, and that is when the wheels really come off for MLM companies, once the new blood to replace the ones who quit simply dries up it's a veritable house of cards.
