MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

Aloe Vera tastes like grass sap. Chew on the root of grass and that's the taste. And a bit citrus.

NakedAvenger · 12/01/2019 06:47

What the hell is broke on about in his latest missive? The only thing I can make out is the having to go to court to see his kids?

Norma27 · 12/01/2019 08:36

To be fair to bff, I was probably a bit harsh earlier. She has not done the hard sell or constant annoying statuses on fb like yawn has. She has definitely not taken a year off though. I think she is managing expectations knowing she will have little or no cheque this year.
What will yawn’s excuse be this year I wonder?!

Whiterangey · 12/01/2019 08:39

I thought that BFF getting a cheque had already been announced? I thought I read that here.

Sunshineandshowers81 · 12/01/2019 08:59

I think bbf got divorced this year and had to move house, looking at the posts it sounds like he left her so would make sense she took some time off. From the sounds of it she had a terrible year

Whiterangey · 12/01/2019 09:27

I can't help but wonder if forever had something to do with the divorce. Her accounts at companies house are underwhelming so she is likely struggling.

Whiterangey · 12/01/2019 09:35

They were renting a huge house, mansion would be a better word. It read gorgeous and can be seen on old posts.

The excuse for moving to a normal terraced house was so the kids can be closer to town. The house they rented must have cost a fortune to rent. Not sure if the house they are in now was their previous house and they rented it out while living in the big house.

9dartfinish2nd · 12/01/2019 10:18

I really hope that persons divorce wasn't as a result of MLM as I see more and more claims being made of marriages and family relations being put under unbearable strain by hunbots chasing the dream and being urged by uplines and fellow cult members to cut out "unsupportive influences" ie. people who are trying to warn you that you are being scammed.

Check out Tired Dave on Facebook, he's married to a Beachbody hun and posts about his life beong married to as he calls it "an MLM addict"

SSDGM · 12/01/2019 10:26

Hmmm. I’m starting to get the impression that Broke really isn’t a nice person.

CurlsandCurves · 12/01/2019 10:48

Love Tired Dave, thanks for the tip-off.

And I’m also going to look at another profile of a live he shared, LeighAnn, she looks funny, got the typical bot live off to a tee.

Broke just saddens me.

Paddy1234 · 12/01/2019 11:28

I don't think Yawns bff ex husband bought into the whole Mlm crap at all
Yes he did go on the holidays and probably appreciated the lifestyle it afforded them but his posts were ever only about sponsoring disadvantaged children
The relief he must feel.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 12/01/2019 11:47

He has his own business as well ( on previous threads it was mentioned that Yawn's DH might have worked with him/ for him for a while - no idea if that's the case or not though)

BangingOn · 12/01/2019 12:29

I thought their previous chairman’s bonus cheques were in joint names? Or was he just there for show?

I’m being harsh re her comments about a year off. The marriage break up must have been incredibly hard and she seems much less showy and manipulative than many of the others. But I still don’t believe she took a year out of her business completely and, like the others, she must know that most of those she recruits will lose money.

Whiterangey · 12/01/2019 14:19

To get a chairman's bonus and/or the luxury lifestyle you have to be manipulative.

You have to knowingly screw vulnerable women out of their money by seeking them a dream they are not going to achieve.

You don't get rich in MLM by being a good person.

suedoname · 12/01/2019 15:22

Broke has been in trouble several times.

Likes to call people out or 'expose' them but if anyone exposes him he gets nasty. I believe someone had to leave an iPad with the police last year because of the death threats made by him.

Hes 'exposed' a lot of companies yet still hasn't had the brain to realise they are all the same and moves on to the next big thing.
Bit twonky.

BangingOn · 12/01/2019 15:29

Welsh Upline has qualified for her cheque. Does this mean that everyone who has qualified knows about it by now?

Interesting. Has Yawn always announced in advance when she has qualified?

SoftlyCatchyMonkey1 · 12/01/2019 16:38

If yawn had qualified she’d have been shouting from the rooftops

Whiterangey · 12/01/2019 20:27

There was no announcement of the chairman's bonus in 2017, which of course she didn't get. The same this year, mention of qualifying for the trip but no mention of the cheque.

In all other years she had posted about qualifying for both the trip and the cheque. She had also posted about those in get downline who have qualified for the trip or both, no mention of that for a couple of years either.

I'd say she hasn't got a cheque again.

Norma27 · 12/01/2019 20:53

Bff might have had a tough year, but so have some of those people she is now trying to screw money out of.
I said last week about a funeral I was going to. My stepdad, who has been my stepdad for 40 years was knocked down and killed on a pedestrian crossing last month.
I’m not looking for any sympathy, but having a shit year is no bloody excuse for still conning other people. We had to suddenly find a few grand. No way would I ever think of scamming other people.

Spongebobette · 12/01/2019 21:09

@Norma27 I’m very sorry to hear that, how terrible for you and your family

The thing about MLMs is that a bit uses any event in their lives as a tool to recruit / show off/ get sympathy

It’s shameless

Thanks sponge. It has been terrible, but so is life for many others. Does not give us the excuse to lie to people and con them out of their money. It has actually made me feel so much more hatred to the con artists out there.

Norma27 · 12/01/2019 21:20

And I’ve said before I used to be good friends with Uber bot.
Would love to see her contact me now. She doesn’t know my married name but have been warned she would be all over me if she did. ( not related to to the death tho, just in general).
