MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

It is also worth noting that the fact that someone with a PhD (their identity is irrelevant, they could be anyone) is heavily involved in an MLM just goes to show that anyone can get sucked in, there is no 'too intelligent/educated' to be taken in if you are approached with the right message for you.

BangingOn · 18/12/2018 06:16

@TheRealHousewifeOfCheshire changing the names isn’t done to be cliquey or make the thread hard for new people to join, there have been legal threats to MN which means we can’t use real names on here or in PMs. I worked them out by going onto Forever Living Products (FLP or FL) own Facebook page, looking at their leaderboards and then checking those social media accounts. Some can also be found with some Googling- Castle and Forever Living, for example.

diamondeaglerangerovercastle · 18/12/2018 07:52

WTAF is PHDs point about her car sale woes? Is it that she couldn't afford to run it any more, couldn't afford to pay the balloon payment, or couldn't find the v5 document? I'm so confused. And isn't she a millionaire so why does she even have a lease on a car?

CurlsandCurves · 18/12/2018 08:07

Therealhousewifeofcheshire it takes a while to get to grips with this thread! I’m ex flp but didn’t know any of the people or the other mlms talked about.

You just have to go back through the threads and there are clues that lead you to them, well, a lot of them.

PS not stalking you, honest! 😄

SSDGM · 18/12/2018 08:16

I finally found PHD Bot. I really wish I hadn’t.

“Being Rich is having someone to text ‘I’m home safe’”
Then:
LOOK AT ME I EARNED SQUILLIONS OF POUNDS.

Nothing about the products, all about recruitment. She’s a walking cliché.

BellsAreRinging1 · 18/12/2018 10:29

She stated once that she had cars on finance due to depreciation. She has had the car for 5 years and at around 250 per month will have paid 15,000 for it. If the balloon payment is due, can't she just hand it back??

SSDGM · 18/12/2018 10:42

If the car is on finance/lease then it’s not hers to sell, is it? Surely the guy from the car buying company would have checked it for that?

When I’ve had leases I’ve just chipped them in after 3 years and had a new one.

fromdownwest · 18/12/2018 10:59

Correct if the car is on lease, then the chap buying the car should do a lease check (couple of quid) if he doesn't then she has the money and he has a car owned by a lease company!

The whole thing has confused me, if she is earning 6 figures, then keeping a £11k Audi on the road should be chump change. Then the dangerous manifestations, this happened because its in my journal.

fromdownwest · 18/12/2018 11:03

Goal settings - I Female empowerment.

Seeing a group of women sat on a Sunday afternoon with a scrap book, tube of glue and glitter. cutting out pictures of flash cars to stick into their scrapbooks saddens me.

They can not see that this is merely a tool to be exploited with, when they go to quit, their up-line reminds them of their White Range Rover, or their family holiday to Australia.

Do these women, when sat there writing notes in their £35 diaries, not look around and think - is this really what business women do, is this really how I can better myself and start a new business?

9dartfinish2nd · 18/12/2018 12:22

are scrapbooks the new dream boards?

SnoogyWoo · 18/12/2018 12:42

Yes you are spot on fromdownwest. Having your own business means having a genuine product people want, daily hard work, resilience and then rinse and repeat. If it all works out then one day you wake up successful.

SheepSaucerer · 18/12/2018 14:26

I’ve only been on this thread for a few weeks but have worked out who a few people are!

dickiedavisthunderthighs · 18/12/2018 14:42

Yawn is asking people if they know what £500 x 12 is.

ArbunneHun · 18/12/2018 14:50

Ooh! There’s an ARIIIIIIIIIIX webinar tonight, explaining the benefits of being a representative and explaining how their magic travel system (you know, the one they were sobbing tears of gratitude over for a week and then abruptly stopped mentioning) works.

It’s being led by their European head of sales. I’m tempted to sign up to listen... anyone else???

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 18/12/2018 15:31

dickiedavisthunderthighs - we know maths isn't Yawn's strong point though as isn't that why she put a firework up her team when she realised she'd miscalculated her figures and wasn't on track for a cheque?

ArbunneHun · 18/12/2018 16:38

Any news on TS-Life? It doesn’t seem to be setting the world on fire, despite the relentless hype from Messiah.

BSintolerant · 18/12/2018 17:10

The way things are going it's only a matter of time before Messiah's roughing it in a stable.

TheHorseOnSeventhAvenue · 18/12/2018 17:54

PHD has long been my fave -

I am an overachiever and never believe I will fail at anything / I sat on the floor crying!

Women shouldn't worry about body image / just found the most flattering mirror so i'll post a selfie!

Listen to one of her online trainings - 40 minutes of mindless twaddle!!!

All of FL congratulate themselves and their teams every week on successful meetings of goal-setting and planning! Surely success would be actually getting customers and selling the aloe crap.

SSDGM · 18/12/2018 20:26

BBL Bot is going to lose a stone in the next two weeks. So she says.
Two milkshakes, some carrot, hummus and salad and three litres of water.
I’d be sitting in my car inhaling egg custards outside Asda after 2 days.

yorkshirepud44 · 18/12/2018 21:59

Ooh I've found phd, that was surprisingly easy Smile

It's like a mlm treasure trail

ElektraLOL · 18/12/2018 22:36

I went to the same school as Yawn - she was in the lower sets for everything.

MLMsuperfan · 19/12/2018 02:41

It's hard to be sure because of intense vaguebooking, but crypto's #1 power couple might have reconnected.

BangingOn · 19/12/2018 05:56

I was just thinking the same- true Crypto Ponzi love might just be back in time for Christmas

Nakedavenger74 · 19/12/2018 06:46

I'm too bloody invested in Wig and Shrek's relationship. I assumed he'd gone off with the woman he posted lots of drunken videos with a few weeks ago.

Sunshineandshowers81 · 19/12/2018 07:56

Bbl is always starting a new diet, if she wanted to weigh less maybe pumping her butt full of fat was not the way to go 😂
