MLMs/ Network Marketing: Thread 45

Spongebobette · 05/12/2018 12:24

This is the 45th thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, Valentus, TS Life, Monat, Stella and Dot, Tropic, various slimroast/weight loss coffee MLMs and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs.
The reality is that 97% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

Ahhh may not be then. The age thing made me wonder.

Charlie103 · 17/12/2018 09:35

I have just looked at the other person with the same name... I would say she looks younger than 35. Ah who knows.

WIG owes 7k to an old friend (case was won in court). She's on HMRC investigation list. It would make sense because that recycle bot you can't even get a pay out from apparently. So it would make sense, however I'm now not certain.

Orchardgreen · 17/12/2018 09:45

Wig’s daughter was born in 1998. It’s on her FB Page.
So Wig was a very young mother.

Nakedavenger74 · 17/12/2018 09:51

The Preston-Not-Wig is a member of selling groups right in the specific vicinity of the address on the Insolvency register

Also if Wig was 35 given the age of her eldest daughter she would have given birth at 14. Not unheard of but certainly v uncommon....

Evidence points to it not being Actual Wig who got the debt order despite her various misdemeanours

I also found someone on the register with Sleazes name with an IVR from July. V coincidental but age and location just don't match up.

UnapologeticallyUnhinged · 17/12/2018 10:45

Recycle bot?

Charlie103 · 17/12/2018 11:21

Ah, certainly not her then. My mistake!

Charlie103 · 17/12/2018 11:23

@unapologetically Recycle bot is the a Ponzi scheme/MLM currently in the complete shit. Fascinating reads on Facebook and Google.

JasperRising · 17/12/2018 14:47

Omg, PhD bot has posted a load of drivel about the universe, manifestation and the law of attraction. But it's all ok because she believes in evidence and would never peddle any old crap that she's been told. Wtf does manifesting even mean? That you have some luck and therefore you must have sent the right thoughts to the universe?

Twentytwentyhindsight · 17/12/2018 14:57

@Charlie103 There is someone in the Recycle Bot- Now What group complaining about Wig owing her 7k- is this the old friend of whom you speak?
This one is up to her neck in promoting the GCC crypto Ponzi and is a former acolyte of Wig's in that particular debacle.

Charlie103 · 17/12/2018 16:15

Yes that's the one @twenty. She is involved in all sorts of crap as well. Wig does genuinely owe her that money, she posted a picture of the documents from court that showed she won her claim.

Twentytwentyhindsight · 17/12/2018 16:27

There is a bit of pot/kettle name calling going on there.
As someone said earlier, they defend their own scams by pointing a those of others an shouting: "their scam is scammer than mine!"
I wonder how many people have been duped out of how much money by this "victim" of Wig's? Live by the scam, ...

Charlie103 · 17/12/2018 16:38

I'm not defending her, she is just as bad. I think in a lot of cases though they are just a bit too stupid to actually research anything. They get sold a dream and just believe anyone is capable. WIG on the other hand is prolific and knows exactly what she is doing. I'm not saying her mate isn't the same, I hand followed her enough to know.

spanfan · 17/12/2018 17:07

I am really curious about phdbots doctorate. How can someone supposedly into science and academia be in to this twaddle. Evidence?? Really???

Fark me. I'm stunned. 😂😂😂😂

JasperRising · 17/12/2018 17:30

The language of the thesis (most theses are publicly available online these days, just saying) is worlds apart from the language of her social media posts. Not that I'd expect anyone with a science background to speak like their publications in everyday life!

For some reason I assumed she would have specialised in NLP or something but not at all - you really can't judge people by carefully curated social media profiles!

Norma27 · 17/12/2018 18:54

Bloody yawn getting a vulnerable cat and then a dog the size of a small pony. She is obviously realising what a predicament that poor cat is in.
You just keep attraction marketing tho and being a complete charlatan/con artist

SSDGM · 17/12/2018 20:42

Did your thread get deleted @Charlie103 ?

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 17/12/2018 21:16

Is this thread a bit cliquey. I am trying to learn more about MLM but you all talk about people like you know them - is that the case?

SSDGM · 17/12/2018 21:36

Very few of us know the bots personally, but by the very nature of being a bot they leave themselves open to scrutiny by oversharing on social media.
The overshare also means that they can easily get caught out Living the “fake it til you make it” and false income claim lifestyle that is prevalent in bot life when their lies are easily proven.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 17/12/2018 21:39

How do you all know their names? Who is WIG?

Im just confused as to how you know even if I was on social mwdia 24/7 I probably still wouldn't know.

JasperRising · 17/12/2018 21:52

I have absolute no idea who Wig is! Never have known. I don't really know anyone from the less mainstream MLMs. The ones like Younique and Forever Living have corporate facebook pages where you can see how they promote the company officially and where they name their top sellers/recruiters. Most of those top people will have completely open social media accounts.

cozietoesie · 17/12/2018 23:07

Likewise, Jasper. Smile

BellsAreRinging1 · 17/12/2018 23:34

I understand how people think it's cliquey, I am a regular poster on this thread, im an ex bot from Castles team but i name change regularly. It comes across as cliquey because of the nicknames however when I found these threads - that were in the thirties - I read through them all and was able to work out who lots of flp were by my own experience but also people I'd never heard of before, so Yawn even though she was flp was never on my radar til I worked out who she was from these threads. I also worked out who Wig, Sleaze, Messiah, Broke and Salon bot are. Little clues are here in the archives if you take the time to work it out - Facebook search is always a good place to start.

BellsAreRinging1 · 17/12/2018 23:39

PhD Bot had a crisis during her final year of her PhD. We had to delete all testimonial videos we had used previously that were made by her where she mentioned she was doing a PhD. Someone had complained about her using her studies for MLM credibility and her mentor had to warn her off. Although the teams for a call to arms, only those closer to her got the full story.

She had her Audi before she started FLP and doesn't understand her background wealth gave her a risk free platform not many other people in her teams had.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 18/12/2018 00:14

Sorry bells i just think nit explaining things is a bit cliquey i could not begin to work out.

What made you leave? What is flp?

JasperRising · 18/12/2018 00:25

FLP is short hand for Forever Living Products - purveyor of overpriced aloe Vera based supplements, skin care and make up.

The intention is not to be cliquey to exclude people but unfortunately when posters used names and posted screenshots(even edited ones), Mumsnet were threatened with legal action so these threads are only allowed to stand if people aren't named in them or in private messages.

A side effect is they do sometimes stray into territory that is hard to follow as a newcomer but we try to repeat the stats periodically and people who used to be in MLMs pop in with their personal experiences. I'm not great at remembering the stats myself but basically something like 99% of people who join an MLM will make no money (and may make a loss).
