New MB thread

Thought I would start a new thread as the old one is closed! Hello to everyone old and new trying out Matched Betting!

So I'm £850 up now really happy with that. How is everyone else doing?

Quick question - just wondering what you are all doing to try and prevent being gubbed? I don't have much time during the week to do this so I am a bit concerned that a lot of my reload offers have been the only ones I've done. Particularly interested in making sure I can protect my Bet365 account as I did well on 2up's at the weekend. Thank you!

Hope you all find this! Smile

I'm a bit stuck at the minute as all my money is tied up in a £100+ liability Grin
Got £30 left of free bets to do at Smarkets. Accidentally won £10 on slots (don't ask) at SkyBet
Waiting for my £15 to credit at William hill
I think that's it - William hill and skymarkets I have bets on with (2 at WH)

Allhallowseve · 06/12/2018 14:31

Can I ask ... if you place your back and lay bets a couple of days before a game does it affect you if the odds change .....or do the odds remain the same as when you made the bets?

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/12/2018 14:44

Your bet stays the same.

Allhallowseve · 06/12/2018 15:38

Thankyou very much . I presumed so but am taking this very slowly still and wanted to double check.

QforCucumber · 06/12/2018 16:06

restarting up again tonight after a year off from this, starting balance I have is £50 so hoping I can do something with that. Going on holiday in 12 weeks so hoping to utilise MB for spending money without having to dip into savings. Hope I can remember the basics!

AutumnB · 06/12/2018 16:30

How much did you make before QforCucumber?

QforCucumber · 06/12/2018 16:34

was averaging approx £300-400 a month while on mat leave, topped up the SMP and was a great help, since going back to work full time I've not bothered too much though - not enough hours in the day. Determined for the next couple of months again though

QforCucumber · 06/12/2018 19:51

I an still completely baffled by casinos though. How does it work? Its the wagering 10x which doesn't make sense to me.

Ollivander84 · 06/12/2018 22:02

I tried to do a free spin on Betfair, fucked up and played £5 of my own money. Fuming
Then it popped up... I won £87 BlushGrin

LadyFuchsiaGroan · 06/12/2018 22:19

Ollivander - nicely done Grin

I layed a bet, thought I had backed it but turned out it didn't go through... won my lay bet though!

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/12/2018 07:09

Always follow the guides to the letter on the casino offers, it worked out this time olivander They are easy to get wrong. Ollies food bills sorted for the next week 😹

Lady Always do the back bet first, and wait for it to go through.

Don’t forget to check the cashback sites before you sign up, I missed out on hundreds last year.

Ollivander84 · 07/12/2018 08:26

Fluffy Grin
I have 888sport, comeon and £30 at Smarkets left to do
Got £120 liability tied up in my free William hill bet too, that's on saturdays match

QforCucumber · 07/12/2018 08:59

ooo Lucky Olliv I think I'm going to be off to quite a slow start, already being joined on most sites I need log in and sort my marketing preferences and wait for the reload offers.

AutumnB · 07/12/2018 10:18

Having the money tied up is really frustrating, and it takes days for withdrawals to come back into the bank account so you can move on to next stage.

SushiMonster · 07/12/2018 13:27

1.4k, 6 weeks in

Couple of admin tips

  • Get 2FA set up on Betfair and smarkets
  • Regulaly check your computer for IESnare and clear it read this
  • Use a different (and complex) password for each site
  • Use a password manager to manage that (I use lastpass)
  • Separate email is a must
  • Separate bank a/c is helpful but you could always make the initial deposit using your bank a/c (to be eligible for the sign up offers) and further transactions from an ewallet
  • Have photos of your ID docs saved so you can easily do a/c verification

Read the guides on TP. If you are about to ask a Q - it has probably been covered by TPs very helpful guides.

Do pay for OM immediately and use it.

SushiMonster · 07/12/2018 13:27

Reckon i'm going to get bored with this after the easy wins have stopped so i'm hammering what I can now

QforCucumber · 09/12/2018 19:09

Day 3 back at it, deposited £70 total. So far am £30 profit. Don't intend to deposit any more of own money so hopefully keep steady for now.

Golden0ldie · 11/12/2018 19:32

Guys .. I’m at a bit of a standstill with money sitting in 5 bookies which I haven’t withdrawn for fear of being gubbed. Shall I withdraw some from each, maybe leave £20/30. I started off with £120 in Bet365, did my £100 of trigger bets to get the free bets ... I still have £104 cash sitting there. It’s meant my exchange is lower than it could be and cash has dried up for new offers. So, to withdraw or not, all or part?

Ollivander84 · 11/12/2018 19:36

I would withdraw. Most "normal" people would!

Golden0ldie · 11/12/2018 20:05

Lol, thank you. The reason I didn’t was because I did the Net Bet offer, won at bookies, clicked on withdraw and then exited ... and was immediately barred from all future promotions. Off to bulk up my bank account!

Ollivander84 · 12/12/2018 21:55

I'm about £130 up so far. How's everyone doing?

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/12/2018 07:02

If you set up a Skrill account and deposit some money you can withdraw using Skrill and it speeds it all up a bit. With all the transferring in and out you soon qualify for free bank transfers but you mustn’t use it for opening offers.

Bet 365, paddy power, William hill, Betfred seem to be the ones to do mug bets with most. Bookies like mobile bets on football from what I can tell.

I stuffed up the dafabet offer. I underlayed 😭, I broke even but should have made £17. Lesson learned.

Don’t lay paddy power on Betfair, same company.

Underworld345 · 13/12/2018 21:54

Does anyone know how to check for IESnare and block on chrome book?

MaraScottie · 20/01/2019 00:40

Hey all. I'm about a week in and have made a couple of trigger bets and one free bet so far. Vaguely getting the hang of it but it's slow going.

Can I ask for some help please?

  • Do I need a smarkets account? I have been using Betfair up to now
  • What small print do I need to be looking for, or watching out for when offers come in?
  • How do you track where your money is? Do you use spreadsheets? What info do I need to track?
  • I've been using Profit Tracker so far. If there was one paid account to sign up with, who would you recommend? (assuming I needed to at all!)

Thanks a million!

MaraScottie · 20/01/2019 13:53

Also, when you get your free bets, do you go for at high odds and you can get, and for as high a stake and you can? Do these free bets have upper limits of are you just restricted by the amount of liability you can cover? Cheers
