Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!

Spongebobette · 29/09/2018 18:17

This is the 43rd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

See, Yawn tried to recruit me about 9 years ago when not so much was known about this and she'd just got her first promotion. All my instincts told me that if something seems too good to be true than it almost certainly is and I knew there was no way I was ever going to do it.

JaniceBattersby · 20/10/2018 23:04

Yawn’s she’d was bought last April but hasn’t been seen on her FB since the end of last summer (2017). Maybe she flogged it?

Not much use for a shed d’Aloe when nobody wants any aloe any more.

Spongebobette · 20/10/2018 23:28

Very wise of you @Electrascoffee!

That will have been in the days of ‘residual income’ and outrageous health claims?

In those days it was all about the revolting Aloe drink which I assume is still being flogged today? They also had make up then. And the usual (distinctly average) skin products. I told her directly that since I'm a skin therapist I can't sell products that I don't believe in. I don't think I heard from her again.

Then a few years ago Roomie tried to recruit me - apparently according to her the Aloe Vera FL uses is a special kind of Aloe Vera that only they can put in their products due to a patent.

I was never surprised about Yawn getting into this sort of thing - she hasn't changed since we were children. Roomie I did not know from childhood but always felt she was cleverer and much more savvy. I was surprised to see her sucked in by it.

Spongebobette · 21/10/2018 10:44

Yes they are still flogging the gel drink thing and, rather hilariously, several bots inadvertently admitted it is disgusting to drink when the new peach flavour was launched - they said things like it doesn't make you gag
HA HAAA

I’ve seen a post going round listing the “Top 20 Managers” for September. Yawn’s Bestie is in the top 3, with ScottishYoga and a bot who had a baby 2 weeks ago. Said Post-Natal bot also just announced that she has qualified for Chairman’s Bonus, stating that if she can do it, 2 weeks after a C-section, anyone who works hard enough can!

No sign of Yawn in the top 20.

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 21/10/2018 15:20

That's despicable suggesting someone with such a young baby should be concentrating on a "business" Hmm at least with a real job you get maternity leave!

Spongebobette · 21/10/2018 15:39

Absolutely. When they portray themselves as a family friendly company, then expect new mums to spend every waking moment on their 'business', not to mention attend away days / success days/ evening business presentations/ online meetings etc etc all of which are during what I would call family time

I remember going to a Success Day where a bot stood up and told everyone she'd missed her good friends wedding to come to the Success day...

SSDGM · 21/10/2018 15:49

I have a Scentsy bot telling me that £182 is a reasonable price for an “Oil Warmer”.

It’s a fucking air freshener. 😂

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 21/10/2018 15:58

It's laughable, they contradict everything they say, when I was briefly involved I was expected to go to every local business presentation for "motivation" so much for working around my family. These presentations were all at night and I was expected to get childcare. Needless to say I went to one and put my foot down at that, I was a little weirded out with the way the other people were behaving and getting overexcited by it all Hmm it was embarrassing

Spongebobette · 21/10/2018 16:07

Sounds reasonable to me @SSDGM. After all, everyone above her in the pyramid needs a cut. (Probably cost £2.20 to produce)

OP posts:
Whiterangey · 21/10/2018 16:21

£182 for an oil warmer?

I've heard it all now.

Whiterangey · 21/10/2018 18:13

Yawn posted a photo of one little cupcake and has said she will have to work harder at the gym tomorrow.

Over a cupcake, one little cupcake. Don't forget her girl child is watching and listening to all that she does around food and weight loss.

leasedaudi · 21/10/2018 18:42

Hopefully Yawn's daughter sees it's not the lone cupcake that causes her weight problems, but the endless c9s, combined with binge eating afterwards.

Whiterangey · 21/10/2018 19:01

I see Castles house hasn't sold or rented yet.

I think it's been for rent for two months and to buy for one. She's reduced the rent once. I do wonder if she will reduce the price to buy, depends on how desperate to sell she is.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 21/10/2018 19:21

I still can't work out what's going on with Castle's move.

It was sudden and seemingly unplanned (as surely if you had planned it your house would have been advertised for sale/rental way in advance), she doesn't seem to be pushing the business over there (other than hosting a drunken piss up an Eagles managers event) and there's suddenly a lack of polished, boast-posts (no beautiful house, no coordinating decor straight out of a magazine, no perfectly groomed hair, make-up and clothes)

Suspiciously strange.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 21/10/2018 19:22

Oh, and the separating themselves geographically from the doting extended family when they normally live in each others pockets.

ArbunneHun · 21/10/2018 19:23

Wow. Sleaze’s latest post about the Eye of Horus and the Government putting fluoride in the water to keep us ‘blind’ is quite another level of conspiracy-theorist woo entirely.

CatherineCookson · 21/10/2018 19:36

As only 5% of the world had fluoridated water - it's odd that those who sign up to Sleaze's various schemes don't use their third eye powers to figure things out.

The guy must be drinking a lot of Koolaid now he has millions of Bitcoin etc.

Whiterangey · 21/10/2018 20:05

Sleaze has gone completely bonkers.

spanfan · 21/10/2018 20:14

Something's up with Castle.

I hope she's ok, but I don't think she looks well. I don't think speculation is very kind really, but it's clear things are not right for her, at the moment.

Electrascoffee · 21/10/2018 22:46

I think that I have worked out who Castle is. Was she in the police pre- MLM days?

notsurewhatshappening · 21/10/2018 22:52

Thank you @twentytwentyhindsight that was just the info I was looking for!

tumericmasala · 21/10/2018 23:20

Is NuSkin an MLM?
