Anti MLM/ Network marketing thread NUMBER 43!!

Spongebobette · 29/09/2018 18:17

This is the 43rd thread in a long series about the dangers of network marketing/ MLMs such as Forever Living, Ariix, NuSkin, Arbonne, Younique, TS Life, and MANY MANY more!
Posts here will give examples of the lies told by 'top bots' who portray luxury lifestyles in order to lure in new victims and of the other techniques and brainwashing used by MLMs
Over 90% of people who join an MLM end up LOSING money. Always bear that in mind when considering paying money to join!

What was your experience with FL, @Mumof3girlssoontobe4 ? We're always interested to hear from ex bots!

SSDGM · 20/10/2018 07:29

Will somebody please tell Sleaze that being on Jobseeker’s Allowance doesn’t mean you have “retired”?

BSintolerant · 20/10/2018 09:16

Yawn's shed has disappeared? Really?

She’s hardly used it for months

If I were her I’d give it to the kids as their space to hang out with friends

It's probably full of stock that she's bought to up her chances of actually getting a cheque this year!!

leasedaudi · 20/10/2018 11:46

Yawn had heating in her shed so it can't be too cold.

Strange to put so much money into it then stop using it.

leasedaudi · 20/10/2018 12:12

Who broadcasts a video of their messy travelodge motel room? Living the aloe dream indeed! 🤭

Whiterangey · 20/10/2018 13:39

I wondered about the shed as well. Bit weird, something must have gone wrong with it that Yawn cannot afford to fix.

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 20/10/2018 16:03

leasedaudi I never really got to the point of becoming a "bot" I sold a few products to family and friends, hosted an online party of my own and held one party for my "upline" but I quickly became annoyed and disinterested, paying for online "training" being encouraged to go to every local BP, being told to make a "vision board" cue cringy boards covered in white range rovers and exotic holidays (I never made one btw!) Constant pushiness from my upline wanting to come to my house for more "training" and making a business plan, being encouraged to spend £40 on a "proplanner" I have 3 kids and wasn't working at the time! Constant messages asking if i had been trying hard enough to recruit! I didn't want to recruit! I also done Avon at the time and thought FL could work in the same way by just selling but nope the pressure to recruit was endless! I was quickly sceptical about the whole thing and found these threads, I shared a newspaper article about "MLM's" on Fb and what they really entailed, Castle's pic was on the article, then I messaged my "team" and said I was quitting as I didn't believe in the morals/ethics and next thing I know I'm getting messages saying I shared "abuse" about the beloved "Castlebot" and she herself actually messaged me asking why I was being abusive towards her when I hadn't said a feckin word about her and only shared an article! I then blocked all my team as I wanted a clean break and for months after I received abuse from fake FB profiles saying I was scum, needed to get a job, I was a shit mum, my kids looked like chimps and so on Angry then my "upline" proceeded to tell everyone how I quit amd was somehow "slandering her business" when I never personally slated her once, just the whole stinking "business model" so then nobody spoke to me at the school when I went to pick up my kids! (Upline was a mum with kids at same school) so yes, overall shitty experience and wouldn't recommened even to my worst enemy!

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 20/10/2018 16:07

Forgot to add, it must have been one of my "team" that messaged Castle about me for her to have got my name/profile in the first place. Brown nosers or what Hmm

Jonsey32 · 20/10/2018 16:24

Oh god that sounds horrific you poor thing. Hope you’re well recovered now?

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 20/10/2018 16:42

That sounds awful!

Unfortunately though, that sort of treatment seems to be the norm when people leave.

JasperRising · 20/10/2018 16:47

That sounds horrendous mumof3 and so very childish. I very much dislike people who shout about 'abuse' or 'bullying' whilst behaving in a bullying manner themselves (or encouraging/turning a blind eye to people doing it on their behalf). I also really dislike the idea that disagreeing with someone is automatically equal to being abusive. What on earth happened to respectful debate/acknowledging other viewpoints? ( I now await a bot coming to tell me that we are not acknowledging their viewpoint that MLM is the best thing ever)

Whiterangey · 20/10/2018 17:00

@Mumof3girlssoontobe4 That sounds awful, i'm truly sorry you had to go through that but glad you saw the light when you did.

How dare they bully your children like that, absolute scum.

notsurewhatshappening · 20/10/2018 17:15

What are the chances my friend could make any money with younique? I don't understand the compensation plan, unsurprisingly. .. she has lots of orders already apparently.

Mumof3girlssoontobe4 · 20/10/2018 17:49

Awful experience, I was threatened with legal action, sorry but I shared information that was widely available online that anybody could see whenever they wanted, hardly slander Confused after I stopped a few of my friends told me they found their products that they bought "awful" and one of my friends had a huge reaction to the "botox in a bottle" face mask, when I told my upline my friend needed refunded (as it was my uplines party) she wasn't happy and said "that's never happened to anyone else as it's all natural ingredients " a quick glance at ingredients list told me that was a lie! I felt awful people had spent their money on overpriced shit quality products Sad

Can anybody answer my question above about Valentus and their current situation? Im desperate for an answer if anyone has any info. 😭

Spongebobette · 20/10/2018 18:29

I wish I could Charlie, its all a mystery to me

I’ve never understood filtered/ photoshopped pics. They make people’s heads/faces look bizarre shapes and hen it is obviously supposed to look like a natural picture of them.
In all pics of me I have pretty much the same face shape and my features stay the same. Weird!

Twentytwentyhindsight · 20/10/2018 19:08

@notsurewhatshappening - a great article on why MLMs are pyramid schemes, with a focus on Younique and how much top reps can make from sales:

www.talentedladiesclub.com/articles/are-mlms-really-pyramid-schemes-why-you-cant-make-money-selling-their-products/

Your friend's chances are nil.

OhMyGodTheyKilledKenny · 20/10/2018 20:24

Norma I presume you're referring to a photo of someone who is home alone tonight who looks like a frigging distorted alien head WTF

Norma27 · 20/10/2018 21:05

Ha ha Kenny yes. I’ve noticed a few times her pics are distorted but tonight’s is weirder than usual!

Electrascoffee · 20/10/2018 22:27
