Checked TIO to see if anyone had won and it's vanished!! Surely it isn't contentious 😂

Well done all you winners, large and small. Nothing for me this month :-(

cptartapp · 02/07/2020 07:18

£125 on £27k holdings. Very pleased.

Chellors123 · 02/07/2020 07:48

Some good wins. It's our first eligible month with max holdings but nothing for us :-(.

I assume I would have had an email by now if we had won anything?

InMySpareTime · 02/07/2020 08:37

£25 on £18k, first win since January. Hopefully it'll catch up in the second half of the year.

I won £25 but haven't received an email, I checked on the website
Chellors123 · 02/07/2020 09:37

Ooh thanks!!, I'm in a queue for the website

BarbaraofSeville · 02/07/2020 10:02

Have you seen that one of the July £1m prize winners only bought his winning bond in May. How jammy is that

Both big winners had big holdings - £30k ish IIRC.

Nothing on max holdings is unlucky as each bond has something like a 1 in 30 000 chance of winning, so you should get one or two winnings a month - but it's also reasonably likely that you'll win nothing, or 3% prizes.

I won £25 on a £17k ish holding, my third of the year. As statistically, I should win a prize every other month, I'm nearly at that level, maybe slightly behind, but I'm happy that it's a gamble as the amount of guaranteed interest I've given up isn't that much.

Dinosauraddict · 02/07/2020 10:21

@Chellors123 I normally get the email about 3 days later each month - hence I use the prize checker app! Grin

BarbaraofSeville · 02/07/2020 10:27

App is also much easier as you just have to put a short code in, instead of queuing for a website and putting in all the details (I have some saved, but it always asks for the holders number).

It also tells you earlier than the website or email (I can see my prize in the app but it's not on the website and I haven't had an email).

Blaziken · 02/07/2020 10:42

Nothing for me on £500 but my new investment kicks in for August so hopefully I’ll get something then. I’ve moved a lot of savings in.

LuckyHedgehog · 02/07/2020 16:58

£25 for me, nothing for DD and £75 for DS (all on maximum holdings). He seems to win the most almost every month - he's won £400 since February, I'm on £250 and I think DD is on even less, but I can't check her account now that she's over 16 (must look into getting online access for her).

FAQs · 02/07/2020 17:34

Nothing again on £15k

FiveShelties · 03/07/2020 06:29

Nothing on 14200GBP. I always check as soon as possible, but I am lucky as it is around lunchtime for me.

Good luck for August everyone.

ProbablyFault · 03/07/2020 11:10

£25 for me on what was £10k 🙂.

ProbablyFault · 01/08/2020 08:26

Does the weekend affect Premium Bond draws at all? I'm guessing / hoping not, but maybe I'm wrong!

ProbablyFault · 01/08/2020 09:03

Oh, it will be on Monday - good luck to everyone 🤞🏻.

Dinosauraddict · 01/08/2020 09:11

It's technically Tuesday this month (or 00.01, so effectively midnight Monday). Your prize checker app always tells you when your next draw is.

Sonmi451 · 01/08/2020 09:36

I've just found this thread, have about £3500 invested, grown over the last two years or so. Never won anything yet, so there's got to be something coming my way in August, right?

ProbablyFault · 01/08/2020 10:16

I just really need to win £1million 😄.

Thanks Dinosauraddict, and yes Sonmi451, surely you're due a nice £25 prize at least 🙂.

Dinosauraddict · 01/08/2020 10:19

I'm really hoping for £50 this month. I use all my winnings each month to overpay my bloody student loan. If I win £50 then I'll finally have less than £4K student loan debt! crosses fingers

GreyGardens88 · 01/08/2020 10:25

Good luck everyone, I hope the Premium Bond fairy waves their magic wand for everyone this month x

ProbablyFault · 01/08/2020 10:44

Dinosauraddict, doesn't Martin Lewis from Money Saving Expert advise against paying off student loans early? I'm not completely sure but I thought he did. It will feel amazing when you finally do though 🙂.

Dinosauraddict · 01/08/2020 11:25

@ProbablyFault yes ML does advise that on the basis that most people (c. 83%) don't pay them back. I will definitely repay mine, so every month they exist is just extra interest - in that scenario it's better to get rid of them ASAP.

ProbablyFault · 01/08/2020 11:47

Oh, that makes sense. I finished paying mine quite a long time ago now, it's all a bit hazy!

Dinosauraddict · 01/08/2020 12:32

Well done @ProbablyFault ! I could've paid mine off with savings (e.g. I have max holdings of PBs but the winnings each month tends to both cover the SL interest and overpay it nicely). I also put other savings towards it like commuting costs atm so it's getting there. Got rid of about £6k this year so far! Grin Will be so glad when it's gone!
