WANTED: 12 lovely mums for a new book club

Hello, My name is Dominique, I am a keen reader and I just find this idea of a book club fabulous. I was too late for joining the last thread s I guess the best is to start a new one. I am a mother of 2 (3 years and a great reader of 12) My house is full of books (in french and english.....

JJ I couldn't get on with my book this month so have posted it on to you - sent it yesterday so should be with you in the next couple of days. Others have enjoyed it but it really wasn't my cup of tea.

Thanks Loler - received the book today and am looking forward to reading it.

wtd not sure if I told you I got last month's book (or is that this months...?) and have started it.

Not gripped yet but enjoying it, I can tell there's something coming but I have another week of holiday to finish it.

I have sent her 2 books so far, did you two ever "talk" direct to hand over your address? I think you did last month?

Glad the book has reached you safely JJ I had one of those moments the other night, where I woke up from my sleep thinking, I don't think I wrote her address on the envelope! So I'm glad to hear you've got it.

I'm afraid it wasn't my cup of tea and I couldn't get into it which is why you've got it so quickly.

I think I had your book last month PA (but possibly I am a month ahead because wtd is very speedy).

I did enjoy yours PA, I posted on the thread. I had a very relaxing Sunday afternoon reading it while the DS watched TV.

We've got HC1's book as well.

Didn't flying cloud asked for her book to be sent back to her? So maybe the rest of us won't get the opportunity to read it.

I think I've reported on all my books, except the first one I had which was Mamandomi's book and that's because I struggled with it.

And has Cariboo submitted a book to the group?

I thought we were starting to tick along quite nicely, however it does go to show that one late book does cause a few hiccups.

You haven't got my book in the chain because it went to MD and she never bothered to post it on. I did contact her but never heard anything back.

Flying Cloud's book is still in as I have it at the moment and really enjoying it.

I thought the chain was working better but it is a shame when some people don't know whether they are going to receive a book or not.

I've commented on all books apart from the last one which I should get round to soon!

No, nothing. I have emailed and posted on a thread that she was on the previous day (she started the thread so I thought she would check it.)

Before i read your last sentence I was going to write "Thats crap!! Just as LBAM gets to post on time someone else messes it all up"

no, its been good getting books that i would not normally have bought, maybe I am being hard.

I feel like you PA tbh.

It's quite a lot of hassle getting to the post office, not to mention 5€ a time postage.

Am actually counting down the months now, not sure how many are left?

What I am most disappointed in tbh, is that the posting (on the threads) is so sporadic so there never seems to be any discussion really.

I was looking forward to reading books and discussing them with other people but it hasn't really worked out that way with all the hiccups - perhaps we were doomed from the start with our founder disappearing off the face of the earth (mamandomi) - WHY would someone do that?

I feel the same Jamais, I dont know how the other bookswaps manage to do it. Are they organised differently. If I ever did anything like this again i would stalk the organiser first and check out their organisational skills and reliability. We were very trusting. Mamandomi had only just joined MN!

I have enjoyed it though. not really put off and I dont have the postage issue too much as I am only posting in this country.
