I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

Here's the basics of how it works (thank you Flamesparrow)

How it works

Hi all.

just back from holiday. I posted my book before we went - did you get it ok LadyBee?

No sign of my book yet.

I'm happy to carry on for the next cycle. No idea which book though.

muddleduck · 09/06/2010 13:23

I have book and chocolate

very happy now.

looks like a really interesting one this month...

pooter · 10/06/2010 01:37

Hi muddleduck,
sorry it was late - no excuses just general crapness and fear of going to the post office with an unruly toddler and a screaming baby. The logistics of getting them both out of the car safely and into the shop are beyond me most of the time

it IS an interesting one this month - i loved it.

pooter · 10/06/2010 01:38

oh, itsjusta thanks for the book and choccy - both devoured immediately - really enjoyed this months, and last months too! We are on a roll now.

muddleduck · 10/06/2010 11:02

no problem pooter. I think ths is the first month I've been on time since the first book!

chocolate is all gone already, will start the book tonight

aristocat · 11/06/2010 22:43

poshwellies i have finished your book and enjoyed it very much - thank you

Dysgu · 12/06/2010 00:34

I haven't read the Dragon Tattoo book either!

Still trying to decide which book to select for the next round - each time I pick up a book I am thinking whether it is a possibility...

Arti when I post the book I have at the moment, will it be going back to it's owner or is there another reader first? (this is not such a silly question as I don't post to the same person as I did when we all started...)

Dysgu · 12/06/2010 00:40

Oh and I currently have Whinegums' book, I think.

artifarti · 12/06/2010 07:33

Dysgu - I would send it back to posh if I were you. I will email her to see if she would like to rejoin for the next round as well.

TheBuggerofSuburbia · 12/06/2010 08:44

PistachioLemon, did you post the book? If so, it's MIA

Yes, what shall we do with the books when they're finished? Send them back to their original owners? I bought a spare copy of mine (Dysgu, I think you must have it at the moment), so I'm not bothered about getting it back.

artifarti · 12/06/2010 08:54

Bugger - yes, just send it on with the new book you are introducing into the next round (i.e. send two books and choc on August 1)

Itsjustafleshwound · 13/06/2010 14:08

Hi all!

This could be heresy, but I really hated the 'Dragon' trilogy - it was a well written, racy read, but I just hated the subject matter and graphic descriptions of violence towards the women (prude alert). I would just choose to read something cheerier ...

Still trying to decide what to choose for the next round !

Pooter - I will post next month's choice off to you sometime next week - hope it suits.

johnworf · 13/06/2010 20:46

Hi ladies, just to let you know I'm still loitering with intent (to read!). So don't forget me on your next round of books will you?

Just to clarify, I send chocolate with a book? Is it any chocolate? How big? Or totally to the senders choice? (any exceptions to the chocolate rule?)

artifarti · 13/06/2010 21:32

john - don't worry, you are on my radar! And yes, chocolate with every book! When I email you with the details of who you send the book to, I will also let you know if they have any chocolate allergies/hatreds (and similarly you tell me what you don't like.) I think we said no more than around £2, give or take.

Nothing much will happen until July 1, when I will post a list of all the books we have read on here - you can see what sort of books we like. Then everyone to email me by July 10 (as outlined a few messages back). You will need to send me your name and address and any chocolate fussiness, as well.

arti i have currently got poshwellies book and should get my last book (dysgus) on 01/07. is that what you wanted to know?

Itsjustafleshwound · 15/06/2010 16:50

I have currently read Muddleduck's book and should receive Pooter's book next month (if that answers your question)

artifarti · 15/06/2010 19:45

Yes, thank you. I think because I got three books at once and I had already read one so posted it on, that I got confoozed. Easily done, these days...

As you were...

TheBuggerofSuburbia · 16/06/2010 21:07

I think I'm still missing a book for this month - PistachioLemon, is that right?? Did you post it? It's gone missing if so

PistachioLemon · 17/06/2010 09:41

Bugger, yes, I posted last Wednesday What do I do now? Should I order another one from Amazon?

TheBuggerofSuburbia · 17/06/2010 10:35

Blardy Royal Mail. Just a thought - did you send it to my old address (which started with a flat no) or my new one, which starts 166?

AgentProvocateur · 17/06/2010 11:03

Hi everyone

PistachioLemon / Bugger - I think the book that's missing is mine originally. Don't buy a new one on my behalf. If you're a member of your library, Bugger, you could pick one up from there.

I've still to get one more book (Lolaladybird's) at the start of July.

I'm going on holiday until 20 July, so I'd like to email you my next choice, artifarti, before I go, but this thread takes so long to load and navigate that I can't find it. Would you be able to start a new thread for round 2, with the email address and list of participants etc?

Hope you all have a great summer.

artifarti · 17/06/2010 11:17

Will do, AgentP...have a lovely hols.

Follow me over to a new thread...
