I love reading and now that DS can entertain himself for a while trashing my lounge is 8 mo I am finally getting back into the swing of things. But I always read the same kind of books and so would love to have something different sprung on me!

Here's the basics of how it works (thank you Flamesparrow)

How it works

[ Arti sits back and waits for the flood of recruits, hoping that she doesn't end up looking like a no-mates...]

Hi everyone,

I feel very very bad that I've disappeared from the thread for ages! Its just that I have a deadline next week for which I've been struggling in the last month... I've lost track on where we are / what we're doing, but I think we're posting 1st of March? I've got a book & lovely choccie that FlyingMonkey sent me a couple of weeks back (thanks FlyingMonkey!) & I hope arti you've received the previous book that I sent a while ago? Let me know if there's something I should be doing that I'm not! After next week (when my deadline passes at last) I'll have loads of reading time at last...

aristocat · 19/02/2010 22:03

Pooter the book is in the envelope ready for posting - it will be some time early next week!!

Hi all - hope all is well with you and your families - so looking forward to some sunnier, spring weather ...

AgentProvocateur · 27/02/2010 15:53

lolaladybird I posted yesterday, so you chould get it on Monday.

Terie5, unfortunately you are too late. We started about seven months ago, but I've seen a few threads recently from people who are starting a swap club. Hope you find one.

Maria2007loveshersleep · 28/02/2010 18:32

Hi everyone . Hope you've all been well... Itsjustafleshwound, I hear you about the weather!!! Where I am (London) it feels as if the rain will never ever stop...

Arti, will be sending book tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. It's Stickylittlefinger's selection & I'm reading as fast as I can... I like it so far!

artifarti · 01/03/2010 19:19

Hello everyone - POSTING DAY!!! Hope everyone hasn't forgotten...

Maria - no worries about the book. I am currently reading The Yacoubian Building (by an Egyptian author, I am too lazy to go and get the book to find his name!) and am really enjoying it.

OP posts:
LolaLadybird · 01/03/2010 19:33

AgentP - book & choc arrived on Saturday, thank you. V impressed by your promptness!

Itsjusta - I am rapidly working my way through Maria2007's book after making a v late start ie. last week. (I always was the kind of girl who started my weekend homework on a Sunday evening!) Do you mind if I delay sending until later this week? Just need a couple more nights...

aristocat · 01/03/2010 21:29

dysgu posted to you today, happy reading

Itsjustafleshwound · 02/03/2010 11:18

No probs ! I am reading 'Nurtureshock' at the moment, and unfortunately, the sun pouring through my car windows (as I wait to pick up my eldest from school) is a very powerful narcotic!

LolaLadybird · 02/03/2010 13:44

Thanks Itsjusta - went to bed early last night for a bit of a reading fest and now have another 70 pages to go so reckon I will be ready to post on Thursday.

Dysgu · 04/03/2010 18:00

Hello all

PistachioLemon I have posted book (and chocolate) today - is Itsjusta's book.

Aristocat I think my book from you is sitting at the sorting office - can't think of anything else that would be arriving so looking forward to going to collect that tomorrow.

Been a bit of a quiet couple of months for me regarding reading so hoping to manage to catch up a bit this month.

LolaLadybird · 05/03/2010 16:57

Yay, I managed to get finished this morning, Itsjusta, so book went in today's post. I managed to finish the last 30 pages this morning while DC's bumbled around after breakfast (the 'joy' of having v early risers is that there never seems to be any rushing of a morning)- DD nearly missed the school bus as I was so engrossed!

TheBuggerofSuburbia · 05/03/2010 21:19

I posted to Stickylittlefingers yesterday, so it should be with you soon if not already.

pooter · 06/03/2010 10:22

Hi everyone! I am now a mother of TWO!! That sounds so strange

Im afraid i havent posted the book yet but it is packaged up with choccy ready to do today - ive only left the house twice since she was born 14 days ago. After all my efforts to avoid a repetition of DS's birth (54hr labour ending in EMCS and a very shellshocked pooter) the hypnobirthing didnt really cut it after the first two hours and I arrived at hospital demanding an epidural. They told me i was 8cms - JOY!! - but on bursting the waters when nothing was happening the cervix pinged back to 4cms - where it stayed forever. So - on the syntocinon drip when the anaesthatist says hes worried i may be one of the one in ten thousand or so that gets paralysed by the epidural, so he is going to turn it off - I was more worried about the pain of contraction than being paralysed at that stage - so i cried and we decided to go for a CSection now rather than in a couple of hours of excrutiating pain.

so there you have it - I had a little girl called Bethan and she was 8lbs 6oz and has already recovered more than her birth weight. Im recovering well and have had loads of help from family. My little boy has reacted brilliantly and loves to sing nursery rhymes to her (and rub his hands over her face - but we will gloss over that...). I will put a couple of piccies on my profile page in a sec.

itsjusta i got your book and choccy - thanks - its a tome and a half isnt it? One of those "I bet thats an 'improving' book - must read that someday" kind of reads. That will keep me going in the small hours while im feeding Bethan.

aristocat · 06/03/2010 12:25

pooter
